  • Also comparing to one of my older digital cameras, the canon power shot. The CFV back on the 500cm is utterly seamless, and a joy to shoot.

great video, I have a 500 C\M and love it, also the cf e 80 and CF i 180, as well as the CF 120 all are great, PS why not use a 120 or 180 for macro, having the telephoto crop in is a lot better, plus they have the ability to use ext. tubes, or the bellows set.

I have a 907X and interchange many Hasselblad lenses on the 500CM body with the CFVii50c. Great setup that works. Save the old stuff you will be glad you did!

still sometimes use similar canon (in europe it calls Ixus not a powershot)

interesting choice for the digital option, I shoot a H1 with a P45+ and WOW, should see how much detail it captures (at iso 80 of course, as its a CCD sensor unit); and how much shadow detail it can recover!!

Might do something on video, I believe that was another request. I'll hit two birds with one stone and do a BTS on filming one of my typewriter projects

I started photographing with 6x6 in the early 70's, a close friend had the 500 C or C/M, I don't remember which. Doofus kept breaking lenses, either by cocking or not cocking them first. I stuck with my Mamiya TLR's with the interchangeable lenses. Hassies were the choice of the pro's, that's for sure.

Yeah, the hasselblad system can be a little tricky to get into if you're not familiar with the quirks. I was never a TLR fan mostly due to the parallax, but I've shot the Rolleiflex 3.5, the Yashica 44 and the Yashica mat. Loved them. Hasselblad is the tool for me because of its stunning versatility! I can shoot multiple rolls of film, polaroid, and digital at the same time on the same camera! It's great.

Hmmn, I wonder how a 2007 Honda compares to a modern Rolls Royce? I suppose they both get you where you're going. :D

Being myself a Hasselblad user. I’m surprised that the 80 mm lens plus the extension tube gives such a sharp image.

Extension tubes don't generally degrade the image that much, unless you're stacking a whole lot. Easy to use, and yield good results, just gotta watch out for that light falloff. This one is about two stops.
