I subscribed to your channel when you uploaded the Bloodborne score (Laurence, The First Vicar). I didn't know about Antonio Caldara. This piece is really emotional. I love how he doubled the instruments= - Soprano (doubled by the Violi l and ll; sometimes by the Organ). -Alto (doubled by Trombone l and Viola) -Tenore (doubled by Trombone ll) -Basso (doubled by the Basso in the Organ). You can easily add a Chelo doubling the Tenore if you want to. It's an amazing treasure, and I might do an in-depth analysis. Thank you so much! :)
Nice to hear, and in terms of the doubling, it is standard practice of the time and quite common, besides the addition of the Trombones, not something you hear too much in the music of the time. I highly suggest if you have never heard it before, the Stabat Mater of Vivaldi - one, if not the greatest setting ever composed. Good luck also with your analysis :)
I thought I already did.. but it has a similar name to his mass in B Minor - I have found the score, and a good performance - so expect it in about a week or so, to premiere after the 6-7 videos I have scheduled already.
You mean 'Missa Dolorosa'. I have a feeling he (?) uploaded the version amended by JD Zelenka a while back. I love Caldara's original version of Missa Dolorosa the most, I think. It's my favourite Caldara work.

Appreciated. Do you prefer scores with c-clefs? I find them hard to read.
They used to be hard to read but I now consider myself fluent - practice makes perfect
