Dire Straits can always be counted on for amazing high-fidelity recordings that showcase the features of a speaker system. Great video, kudos!
Hifi that dreams are made of. Fabulous.
Absolutely not.
This sounds so good through my $150 Presonus computer monitors, I can only imagine how good they must really sound in that room. Exquisite!

Somehow this channel makes me glad I have spent too much money on headphones dacs and amps. The recording gear used, the movement through the space, the music selection, the environment,, the atmosphere - and we aren't there to experience all of it. Congrats to your ninja sensei for teaching you to move silently. We can't thank you enough.
That’s probably something like my lottery win set up !! I’d love to sit down with this set up for a few days and play a pile of music. Beautiful
KEF LS50 with a subwoofer is the some of the best sounding stuff I’ve heard in a while, and I used to spend $40-80,000 on Hi-Fi equipment. Glad I don’t do that shit anymore, so much snake oil. I became an Audio Enthusiast.
Yes it’s very easy to get carried away if you have the funds I imagine , and I dream about it. I’ve heard the LS 50’s quite a lot as a relative has some, although not with a sub, so that might be worth him trying. I’m using a pair of Bowers and Wilkins PM 1 pro monitors, an old three box Exposure Pre Amp, Pro monitored power supply, and the dual regulated power amp, the latter three having been great for 30 years. I’m taking an optical digital feed out of an Apple airport Express box, and putting that into an equally antique Marantz CD 12a Dac , which seem to have become quite sought after . I’m using the cd 12 transport far less for cd’s than I used to. I keep thinking about upgrading, but when I turn up the system as it is, it still makes the hairs stand up, so I’m reluctant 👍
@@leemartin2978 Don’t believe in the snake oil, my friend.
@@omgwtfpwnd managed to fend it off for 30 years 😀
@@leemartin2978 Good, it’s like a religion to these audiofools. They don’t have critical thinking skills. The rich ones are size queens and want exclusivity. They’re in a big club of keeping up with the Jones’ and you ain’t in it! And if you question their faith, they’ll ban you on forums and crucify you. I’ve seen it happen.
The Sabrina, my favorite.
Thank you as always sir.
Great match with Audio Research. Added a touch of musicality but still projecting a noticeable sense of rhythm and pace to listeners. Consistent with AR's reputation as “fast sounding” tube amps
This is one of the best recordings I ever heard, the sound setup, the song, just superb. Cant fathom hearing it live
TOO GOOD , FOR WORDS...
*Four
@@jockojockoson9995 THAT'S FUNNY!!!
Sabrina X is the exact model Audio Research use in their factory sound room, so this speaker amp combination should be a guaranteed winner.
Thank you sir for bringing us these fantastic videos. And really, this is equipment I have never seen before, or heard, and I'm in my 70's. I never knew...
The waves, the music, the system, oh Yeah! What a way to start the wekend. Chilling out with Dire Straits, now somebody throw me a cold Corona, while I enjoy this groove.
Thanks Sound Sommlier.
Don’t forget the slice of lime! 😬
I can really hear that Fender twang in the guitar. This system really captures the nuances.
Gracias siempre por tus excelentes videos. Son muy ilustrativos. Sólo con audio e imagen logras transmitirnos la calidad y belleza de los altavoces o de los amplificadores. Muy bien!!!!!
Thank you for infecting me with this song! super love it! :)))
Spectacular atmospheric sound stage!
what are you talking about?
Wow! Just wow!
Now we are talking. Great gear and sexy song!
my dream system
luvin your work
AUDIO MONSTR...!!! 🎶💯👌👍📻
Wow! Super sound! 🇪🇸 🇪🇸 🇪🇸
ive herd sabrina quiet a few times and i can tell you they are sensational speakers and there a nice size to not over the top
Bravo, nice setup my favorite speakers 🍺
If only I could have it all?! Amazing!!!
Probably can do better for much less
nice to see a CD used for the music.👍☺️
@John Gladwaller I sure hope so.
Excelent music choice 👍🏻....i like how the needle of the vu meter softly swings....looks awesome, sounds awesome👍🏻
Sounds amazing good 💯✌️
Who said the best things in life are free. This is hifi nirvana and I can only dream
Superb!
Excellent !
CATZO!! the smoothest channel in hifi
Lovely 👌
I have used this as a test tune on numerous systems. It offers an exciting speaker listening test. This song title and soundtracks imply that one walking on the beach is followed home by the love of his/her life. The shore feed is on a left and right track of its own. The musical intro is started, so it is a fade out-fade in overlap, which can sound icky if the installation can not render it right. Plus, you have the trick of feeding instruments from the left to the right channel to create the feeling that there is movement as one enters the party space, where the music is dominant until the end of the song. This means there is a second channel feed that is done to improve the acuity of the listener. This particular matching is highly transparent, and the timbre of both tracks sounds both detailed and very true to how the shore and the Dire Straits instruments sound.
In the world of classical music, there is one recording I would suggest for testing these speakers: The Barcarole in F sharp major Op. 60 played by Garrick Ohlsson. The piano is extremely difficult to reproduce, and the selection I have in mind has various entries of different melodies, counter melodies, and melodies where the melody is actually a duet of two voices of the right hand simultaneously, which can smear on bad rigs. His recording of this is about as flawless from a recording point of view as I have ever heard. Not just anyone can play this piece either. The opening of the piece in the first 8 measures tells you if the pianist is a genius. he is.
Buenas a todos desde Canarias 🙋♂️🎼💖👍
Ecco come lustrarsi gli occhi e l’udito 🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝🔝
Un sonido sedoso 👌
God bless America
I wish I had a device like this ㅜㅜ It's cool
had a sabrina y audition last week and wow they where conected to a dan de angostino amp, audio research pre amp esoteric player, music was also dire straith but sayling to philadelfia and some eagles.
so cool :-)
Those SF Electa will give these Sabrinas a run for their money.
Класс!
Qué burrada de equipo 😃!
Would be nice to know what electronics were used to provide sourcing and power.
What setup did u use to capture the sound? It sounds great.
Is there any way that you can make a recording of this SAME SONG playing through the B&W Nautilus?
What bass traps are those? Thanks!
Maybe someone can answer this question: de wilson sabrina X 866 and the avant garde speakers from Gershman acoustics....wich ones are better speakers?
HOLY SHIT🔥 THIS CRAZY NOT NORMAL! INDONESIAN🇮🇩 ABSTRACTS😈💫👹💫 INTERNATIONAL POTENTIAL OF THEIR GRADUATED!
ME (HIFIMAN), YESTERDAY B&W AND NOW WILSON AUDIO! SICK🔥
🍺👍🔊🔈.... !
Is like to hear skateaway through this
Oh GOD ...
Sabrina X, my dream speakers. But I don’t have a house with the space to have one.😂
No one can compeat with audio research!
❌✅ Aavik,Dan Augus,MBL,Theta,Audio Net .. but Yah they’re Ip there too but the best ___ Nah ... None of these are just till the next best thing 👋🧐 systems are more than the amp or Dac or formate .... but I do like 👍 the AR’s custom systems can easily out preform what some call the best ‼️
Many can 😀 but good to know you are a fan.
Wilson Sasha are a serious upgrade to these Sabrina's
Would you be so kind to provide more info ? Is Sasha really good speaker for such a small room like for example in this recording ?
Does Wilson make their own drivers?
Wow, those Mono blocks though.
Snake oil. Monoblock doesn’t do dick.
@@omgwtfpwnd my comment to people like you would be your name. Unfortunately UA-cam is open to everybody with or without politeness or even a brain.
That's the sound im chasing....and you've just confirmed i'll never obtain it ($$$$).
Have not seen revel 328 on this channel. Please show or in red. It’s so beautiful 😻 and so Italian (even though it’s not)
How about those bass traps… which brand/model are those?
Acustica Applicata is the name of the manufacturer and the product is called DAAD and the bottom models are model 4. They are actually both difusors and absorbers. There for you can optimize acoustic performance much better than most base traps or diffusors. Sonically they are high end acoustic treatment, may be the best. You can easily get lots of 3D soundstage with DAADs. Read reviews online, Acoustica Applicata DAAD are as essential as costly electronics. Highly recomended.
@@NiclasMardfelt Thank you for following up.
Think I am hearing the AR.
Sounds great on my Yamaha NX-E100's. No need to upgrade :p
Hahaha. Great comment. Loved it 😂
¿coste total del equipo? :-)
Mucho dinero 😉
This are beautiful looking & sounding speaker,,,, NO DAUBT........BUT 25,000€ is WAY WAY TO MUCH FOR for such a normal sized 3 way speaker........maybe 12-15k !!!
What speaker cables are used?
@Taco Thank you, might look into their RCAs
@Taco You really like the sound of their cables huh!
@@markz36 he just likes the over all sound of the whole system and the cables are a part of it. If you think changing cables would not make a difference than I must tell you that this is not the case. No matter if you hear it or not. Millions out there that can’t hear that but instead of accepting that their ears and reception is not the best they try hard to proof why there is no difference. Always makes me laugh because that is so human...
@@elderinmoi1571 I did not state that I'm not a believer of cables, I was impressed at the above response.
What ampli and preamp ?
ello
I listened to this on my phone and it sounds just like my phone ☹️
Song?
Really? It is in the title and in the notes. Or were you just screaming in joy? I can understand that.
KEF LS50 with a subwoofer is the some of the best sounding stuff I’ve heard in a while, and I used to spend $40,000-$80,000 on Hi-Fi equipment. Glad I don’t do that shit anymore, so much snake oil. I became an Audio Enthusiast.
I prefer the Lascalas.
I didn't care for the tune. Would like to hear some instrumental jazz guitar on these speakers please
I had tried very hard to like Wilson. But for whatever reason, every time I hear them from super expense to their entry level ones, they never sound involving and always boring most of the time and perfect sound reproduction except drum attacks at very high volume.
Same here, I try to like them but I just don’t.
Focal, Kharma much more engaging
A little downer here… Wilson is expensive stuff and if you have listend to both the Sabrina X and the Sasha DAW the Sabrina just does not sound right in comparison. Makes you want to buy the Sasha for sure.
sounds just like a ToneWinner Video .....
I heard it and heard SF Stradivari with some config and environment. Strad is better than that (and the rest).
Copyright infringement
Good sound but to me, not as good enough as Focal Sopra 3 & DAgostino in your other video. Focal + DAgostino is like a perfect match.
I just put a down payment on these speakers. I cannot wait.
gut aber nicht vergleichbar mit der sascha daw .
What i dont like about these speakers is the design. It looks like a vintage coffin
They look like a garbage can to me!!!
Sorry, but there is a lot of nice sounding music system that is worth less than a 100 dollars, no offense
Overamplified as almost always.
Focal with McIntosh much better with Dire Straits overall in my opinion.
How about accuphase and b&w? Love that combination even more
@@frederikjacob1985 i haven"t hearded it. But B&W and McIntosh at this chsnnel are smong the best
Was für ein Schwachsinn, wer hört hier eine Wilson?
Sound horrible
they look absolutely ugly. but then that's not really important
Ugly things! Daleks!
Actual AR brand is so cold, so clinical, so lifeless... With the Sabrina a Plinius will do a better job.
LOL
My ARC Ref6 is paired with a Mcintosh 452, they drive ProAC D80r, the sound is truly life like , smooth, musical and dinamic.
Don’t like Wilson’s.
Honestly the magic of the proac is the heart of your system. Have you hear the Audio Research models of the golden era ? The signature was totaly different. Hear the Sp6, the Sp8 or the D79c ! It's romantic, dense, fruity, euphonic, totaly different. I think the fan of the actual audio research brand have totally forgotten the true sound of Arc. It's the same thing with the actual Mcintosh and Mark Levinson sound, it's not my type. They lost their sound. Hear a ML2 or a ML 20.6, hear a Mc2505, a Mc500 or a Mc225 ! Actually Plinius, Vitus and Lamm poursuit the sound i love in different ways... But i am very circonspect about Audio Research and Levinson. Mcintosh do a better job recently but too expensive. The vintage model are a better choice and have a better sound !
@@bourru6321 hmm, maybe you’re right if someone prefers an overly sweet and tubey sound. I personally tend to like a sound more true to the original recording …not covered with extra honey. But in this hobby things and decisions also come down to ones personal tastes.
