I watched your bushcraft channel sign off video. We have some things in common. I was a passionate cyclist for nearly 25 years and one day woke up and felt I didn’t need it anymore. In my late teens while training cross country, I thought I had to fart and shit my shorts full of blood. was diagnosed with UC several months later after I got over the fear of telling my parents. Like you, I thought I was dying. I had flare-ups frequently in the beginning and eventually tapered off and never had any issues since. Love pretty much everything about it! Mostly the west cuntry humour (being fellow wes cun'ree), but also the back to front inside out thermal and the drone footage. What a furkan leg-end. First discovered you for knots, back in the ole days. Have seen the ups and downs and bloody love to see you back better than ever geeking out hard on the car... or Jeep, and doing your thing. Weird life of a UA-camr i suppose cos you never really get to know how much entertainment and joy you bring to weird, far flung watchers... But probably a lot of people get it!! Carry on exactly as you were old boy. thank you!
Really appreciate that and thanks for the comments on the filming, appreciate you watching! I remember making that knotts video with Megan, she did a fab job on the camera work. The world of YT is a bit strange when you think about it, filming yourself like a total spud, but like you say if it reaches some people and they get something from it, it cant be a bad thing. I certainly enjoy it I guess because its been 12 years now lol. Thanks for the comment mate and take care!
Great camera work! I miss my jeep Cherokee so much. We have several Bigfoots here in the Pacific Northwest that steal sunglasses too… those Furry thieves are all over..!

Shut up! You just can't make pancake!!! Haha fierce humour Mike! Loving the vidéos... I am a follower of MCQbushcraft and so happy to discover this other channel of yours.
Really enjoyed that footage: I had no idea that drones could do that sort of tracking, static panning and ‘aerial tripod’ stuff, presumably out of the box? Really adds a solid dimension, so job’s a good ‘un as far as I’m concerned. And it’s all about me. Bad pancakes? First one never counts - that’s the first rule of pancakery.
Thanks for watching. The tracking is all out of the box, it's pretty solid and bug free as well. It avoids the trees providing its not flying side ways as it has no obstacle sensors there. Its like having a magic little camera, no audio though so I have a separate microphone on a magnit mount on the roof. Haha next time I will do them on an open fire, it always goes better.
A great video Mike, that totally matches my positive attitude of thirteen years of living with a brain tumor is over now. I do miss the MCQbushcraft channel. Many a knot was learned and relearned from ya. Carpe Diem🤙
We also get an Aurora in the southern hemisphere, but it's called the "Aurora Australis" and is not nearly as bright, and you have to be very far south (at least in Australia) to see it well.
The MCQ days were good times. I had the option of uploading all of this content to MCQ but what I do on here isn't bushcraft. Best to leave that channel alone now given all the crap it went through with hacking and sensorship because of hunting videos. Thanks for watching

I stopped uploading to it a few years back. It got totally messed up, hacked and loads of other things because of hunting content. The website is useless now so it's gone or I would have to keep paying for it. What's wrong with the Subaru? Those things are pretty dam capable
@@WorkshoptoWilderness Thanks for the explanation. And thanks especially for leaving the archive channel up. You're an amazing instructor. I'm just learning about bushcraft, after not having done much camping since my Boyscout days... more than half a century ago! 😀 Nothing wrong with the Wilderness Outback. Not quite the off road machine the Jeep is, but I'm sure I can learn something I can apply from you. 😊
Thanks for watching. I haven't seen all of the video yet as my son decided to cover me in bedsheets and toys. I will check it out fully tonight. Looks like a nice trip so far.

If I ever win the lottery and become stupid rich, I'm putting you on a plane, your Jeep in a container, and bringing you here to the US of A. Then we will drive to the pacific northwest and go camping deep in the woods where bigfoot lives and tell bigfoot stories around a campfire. Alone. At night.

Thanks for watching 👀 glad you enjoy them. There is a law in Sweden where filming the horizon requires the video to be checked for military installations before public distribution. I have to submit horizon footage to a government organisation called 'the total protection of Sweden' they check my footage and issue a permit for public distribution. Its to stop potential military targets from becoming public knowledge.
I just had a weird thought..I was looking at the snow and you said what the - temp was. I had to think and wonder how terrible the bathroom situation would be. Specially while you have to keep an eye out for sasquach.
The Greek Gods of Olympus all drive Jeeps. Each time you make that Jeep/car mistake they either take sunglasses (Zues) or crash a drone (Apollo). Sacrifice your best lamb and you will appease the gods. BTW, since that flat pan/oven is so flat, make the batter thicker to keep the pancake smaller/thicker
Hahaha, well they took the glasses and crashed the drone so they really didn't like my mistake! The water outside does freeze but normally when temps drop very low. It was mild enough this trip so it didn't freeze. On really cold nights I keep the tank up in the tent with me, but even then its difficult to stop some partial freezing. Thanks for the pancake tip and for watching
Awesome film, Mike. I found what you said at the end of the video a bit intriguing, about capturing the horizon with the drone. I've never heard of such regulations before. Do you happen to know why footage of the horizon has to be approved?
Its called The Total Protection Of Sweden. Footage must be submitted to Lantmäteriet to be accepted or you can get a fine. Its to do with protecting the country in the even of a war. Lots of channels don't do this and just upload it anyway but people who get rumbled get thier channels run through and they end up having to do absolutely shit loads of applications for every horizon shot to obtain permits for publication. Videos get deleted and its just not worth it.
How much does your rig weigh geared up for trips? Also, what tires do you run? Sorry if you answered many times in previous videos. Also, can you expand on drone filming rules?
I weighed it at 2.3 tons with a full tank. That was in the autumn so that was without the tire chains, diesel heater, ice fishing kit, snow shoes and extra sleeping bag. I'm guessing the tire chains kit weighs in at 40+kg, diesel heater is probabaly 10kg, the rest must add up to another 15kg I think. So its about 65/70kg more than it would be in the summer. Today as a write this is my last camp (no camera) and after this begins operation weight loss. New bumper tire carrier build and lighter front seats. It will drop almost 70kg in weight for what I have planned so I should be 140kg lighter in the summer minus the kit and up and coming mods. Next winter It will be 70kg plus again because life without chains isnt possible. Thanks for watching.
