That thing is pretty cool. The Onan fits nicely in there. Flat low profile. Got 2 Kohler 18hp magnum motors & gonna make 1 good one for the stash/future swap. Don’t know what I’ll use it for, but I’ll find out. Thought about selling it, but they’re hard to come by without people gouging like they’re gold.
very nice looking welds, that thing is awesome, you are by FAR my favourite you tuber my friend I said before your instructional videos are on point clear and accurate, this 60 yr old is a huge fan, your a class act hope you have all the success in the world. keep them coming. I hope you will post video's of this thing plowing.I'll be looking for that.
Nice Onan, I’ve got an 18hp KohlerMagnum sitting in my barn next to a rebuilt k301 I got for free form another tractor, of which haven’t got it to run yet.
Aside from needing a stronger HYD pump, it's ready to go... And if it wasn't for this dumb panic now a days, it would be at PA plow day again this year, guaranteed!
Very nice job on the bills love the steering wheel you can tell it’s off of a older Tractor. From at least the 50s. Have fun at PA plow days haven’t been to a plow day in a long time I would like to go to watch them plow. At one again sometime
I love the ingenuity on the 3 point assembly! What a nice design. It looks like it was factory built on an assembly line. It was a pleasure to spend time over last weekend with you, and can't wait to see more of your projects!
Pretty slick machine! That spot you were plowing in the woods looked like you were cutting a water bar on a trail. Any chance you would be able to mount a dozer blade on the front? How about a front mounted PTO, for a brush hog or snowblower? Great videos! Thanks!
Thanks Tolba! I'd really like to do a front mount blade, but everything is pretty busy in that area with the engine and skid plate. I almost put a real mount PTO on this when I built it back in 2014. Would have worked out nice for running 3pt attachments!
The three point turned out great, plow needs to be adjusted but I'm sure somebody can help with that. Your three point has down presser by the looks of it. They aren't supposed to have down pressure, the weight of the implement is supposed to push it in to the ground but it was a bit of a rush job so as long as it works. Wish I could have gone to plow day this year but things didn't work out in my favor :( Oh and the chains are call sway stabilizers, sway links or sway chains, all depends who you ask.
I was able to get a lesson on setting the plow buy some of the people there, was a lot easier than I thought. Once I had it adjusted it seemed to do just fine. Sway chains!! That's what I was going for! Couln't remember what they were called to save my life... It was a good weekend over all, but we only got to plow Saturday. Did 78 acres in 6 hours and everything was done. Apparently there was supposed to be another 60-70 but they put up some new chicken coops and couldn't get the hay cut in time.
@@5Tractorguy the brinly manual has a very simple setup guide for the plow. It's like two sentences and a couple pictures. Good to know everyone had fun, even if it was only one day. I'll make a point to go next year, my passport never showed up in time and just couldn't afford the trip. So did you ever get stuck behind the 3 bottom that pacificdrumma made, the thing looks sweet!!! Also did you delete your FB ?? I remember you being on one of the Gravely groups but can't find you.
I did! He was probably 6-8 tractors in front of me. Sounds like it plowed pretty well for him but gave that diesel a good work out. Nope, still on FB, but I'm under an alias since I don't use it for anything besides tractors and old trucks, I'd rather remain somewhat a mystery there.
Looks good man. Wish I could make it over to plow day. Could have made it friday and went down to the chambersburgh swap meet saturday. But stars didn't line up. Take some video for us to enjoy. and have a safe trip.
Hey thanks Steve. Too bad, that would have been a nice road trip, two tractor events in the same weekend. Can't say you missed much here.... more mud than you can shake a stick at so we only got to plow on Saturday.
I saw it unfolding on facebook. I wanted to go. My plan is next year I'll go now. Maybe every other year or something. Cross the bridge when I get there
Nice job, Jake ! The Onan sounds good. Nice looking welds. What diameter wire are you using with your welder ? Enjoy yourself at PA plow days. I'm sure your 4WD Gravely will be a big hit there. Looking forward to the video you shoot there. Thanks for sharing, your time & efforts with us all !
AS good ad you fix stuff your 5-string work will be UNREAL! Hope all goes well at PA and I know it will. Thanks, Jake! A NICE job but it's time to not look at it for a while and the Onan sounds SWEET! Take a 5-string with you because you never know!
'Preciate it Lewie! Was a fun weekend down there and nice to get out of New England again for a short while too. No bluegrass to be found though, oh well, got another practice coming up this Thursday night with more pickin' and a-singin! Only a week and a half 'till our gig...
@@5Tractorguy With no good music you must've been in a state of communism but you'll make up fptr it thursday and when the big show comes off. Lay Em' Out, Jake!
Just from beginning to end an amazing build Jake! Good luck at plow day my friend, there's a heck of a lot of talent that will be there with you if something goes wrong lol
A big job well done! By the way...how is the search for a dirt patch for your own? I wish I could get to PA for some of the old Steam and Gas shows...Ohio too...wonderful shows up that way. As I have said before, you would make a fine engineer. If I win about 250 million in the Lottery, I'll get you to design a good versatile tractor with attachments, set up a factory, and build one. The assholes at OSHA would have a field day with shields everywhere. Take care!
Thanks Michael! Still a negetory on the piece of land. In short, I didn't show enough over the last two years of business so officially I don't make enough to afford a mortgage payment every month... though unofficially I can without an issue. So, I have to have my dad co-sign so I can get back to looking again. Rather than show more and wait another year, all in due time. Hey I'd be up for it! Every once and a while I think about what it would be like to have a tractor on the market. Then I remember we have OSHA and all the safety regulations so I wouldn't be able to build it the way I want to.
@@5Tractorguy OSHA, like most things Federal Government, makes it so complicated that the good done by the agency is wiped out by overkill. DEF and DPF IS AN UTTERLY RIDICULOUS APPLICATION ON A FARM TRACTOR! The amount of pollution caused by this equipment is such a low percentage compared to autos and Road Tractors...it IS a joke! Good move to have your Dad help...very few self employed people show much of a profit in the first few years. After your purchase, you can build up your business, then refinance, removing him. Legal bullsh*t always complicates life. Of course, if you can find a owner finance, or, an investor for a private mortgage...all the better. Maybe a well to do family member could do a 7 year year balloon note...that should do the trick. The interest rate would be far greater return on the money than most other investments do these days. Or, you can go in with someone and flip a few houses. Bringing the note down to a 65 or 70% loan rather than an 80 helps.
It keeps getting cooler and cooler. It is nice to know one of the six folks in MA that like bluegrass.
There ain't many around here that do! But the more I pick with people, the more Bluegrass folk I find hidden around.
@@5Tractorguy I had never heard of Joe Val till I started listening to satellite radio and I've been listening for 50 years

I've been catching up on your videos and enjoying all of them. If you know 805 Roadking I was the guy that welded the water-cooled Briggs for him.
Good to hear from ya Viking. I know of 805, but haven't stumbled upon that water cooled Briggs, going to have to check it out!

Your plow needs a draft wheel in back so you don't have to meter the depth with the hydraulics which move it way too fast.
Nice Onan, I’ve got an 18hp KohlerMagnum sitting in my barn next to a rebuilt k301 I got for free form another tractor, of which haven’t got it to run yet.

Did you consider designing it with a pivot point so all four wheels are on the ground when your on uneven terrain?
Yep, that center joint has a slot cut so the transmissions can pivot independently. May be able to see it in some of the build videos...
