I had the pleasure of driving the 47 last October during a driving experience. What a great day and a great loco. So much power. Glad's she's getting a repaint. Dave
Ah, the iconic 37. As a Southern devotee I never saw one working...but the youngest is now over 50 and qualifies for early retirement...and they're still being refurbished for main line work as well as chugging into preservation. Can't be bad. Love the sound and so grateful that you all keep catching them on vid. Please feel free to continue to do so and many thanks.
Very nice video and great to hear of 47643s impending painting by HRS. They'll do a crackin job on her. With the impending return to steam of 419 and another (my memory has failed me again) it's certainly a busy place this and I look forward to many visits.
3:00 that's cool that a steam engine was moving diesels, especially when that engine was used as thomas! 17:38 that engine is actually in the Br scotrail livery! It should be reapinted back into that rare livery!

Good to see the use of torque spanners! How many 'pounding feet' are required to undo the bolts before dismantling with a hammer.
I love Thomas shunting Diesel.
Good to see the old engineering technique of "try hitting it with a hammer" is alive and well.
AndreiTupolev ______ "Percussive maintenance"
