I bought one to replace my OnePlus 8 Pro -- while on paper that seems like a downgrade, the much better battery life and waaayyy better camera more than make up for it. It's a little slower, and the loss of the high refresh rate display was noticeable at first, but overall I'm way happier with the 5a.
Always wanted a Google pixel the budget ones last year I was getting a new phone and ended up with the IPhone 11 I went from a 6 plus to it but the Google pixel series was tempting pure android without the crappy apps
My target price for a phone is USD200 or less. I don't really care about fancy features as long as it has the basics and feels good to use. A good amount of storage is a must though.
I switched over to the pixel 5 last year I think... It makes me miss my Samsung devices they just felt "easier" to use(probably cause I've used Samsung smartphones forever). I'm not doing anything crazy on my phone just some mild web surfing, pictures, text and calls nothing major but nothing really feels right. I'll usually end up on the home screen or going back a page cause I swiped wrong on my screen. The camera is great i do like the picture quality but the image gallery is not really "fun?" to navigate (doesn't feel very well organized at least not like it felt on my old Samsung devices but that could just be me being used to the Samsung phones) I find myself taking more pictures from snap chat rather than the camera app cause I hate messing with the image gallery. Connecting my Bluetooth headphones was a nightmare for a little while I would always have to go into the settings and pair them never had that issue with my Samsung ended up buying some beats and those connect better to the pixel I dunno what that's about . Lots of little stuff that just really don't make the experience pleasant for me I'll definitely be going back to Samsung when I get a new phone. Not trying to trash on the pixel line I don't think they're bad phones they just weren't for me

Hey, can you test two things for me please? (1) How much charging time does it take to fully charge? and (2) what is the touch sampling rate and peak Nits of Brightness of this 60Hz display? Thanks a ton!
The phone is actually pretty decent. Especially considering all the features you get for that price. The only drawback is it doesn’t have wireless charging. Something that has become a standard nowadays. But, overall, I would say it’s a pretty decent device
Nah it's not really a "standard" Nobody uses wireless unless if they're traveling, wireless charging is a useless thing tbh and it's bad for the battery health too so can live without a wireless charging and wireless charging hasn't become a standard.
I have been seeing quite a few people complaining about the fragile screen. Not sure that's a QC issue or design flaw. The other pixels did not get nearly as much of complaints (but they have their own issues)
Watching this from a Realme 7 and loving it. 90hz display, huge battery, fast charging, 8/128 GB and you can play any game you want at max graphics perfectly. I'm loving it so far. 220$.
Is it more durable than the 3a? It doesn't have wireless charging and the water resistant is not a big issue normally so I probably won't get rid of my 3a yet
I love everything about it but one, huge, major part...... it's just too big for me. I cannot stand large phones. And it's so core to the experience that I can't just look past that. I'm still on the 3a and the thing is still just a little too big for me personally. I have big hands, but I want a firm grip on phones AND to be able to reach the corners with my thumb. It's impossible to really grip a phone that large and touch the entire screen one handed.
That's the reason I got a 4a despite knowing that a 5a was coming. It's still pretty dang big, but it's small compared to every other phone out there right now. We need more small phones. Not everyone wants a big phone.
@@loucifer9618 The battery is actually pretty good for me once I figured out what app was draining my battery. I fixed it and then restarted my phone, and now my battery lasts a good amount of time. On screen time averages about 10-15% drain per hour, and off screen between 1-2% per hour.
