The autofocus sensor affects portraits photos. If made a comparison with portraits photos you would see the difference, the blurrines around the subject isn't that accurate without the autofocus laser sensor.
Nice review, regarding wireless charging, it's slow and fussy (having to move the phone this/that way to get connected. So no loss for me. :) Bought 1st day to replace my Pixel 4xl & got $225 trade in. Sweet deal IMO.

First of all, congrats! I loved my Pixel 4XL😍 There's no clear winner between these two phones, too different in terms of categories, camera set-ups, features, etc. but if I had to choose I'd go for the Pixel 4XL

Well temperature depends on the climate. What's the normal temp range in your area?
It is just local US and Japan issue. In the rest of the world there are no problems with Pixel 5a....
