Bardstown Day Trip: Lunch at Old Talbott Tavern and Heaven Hill Distillery Five Brother's Bar

On our road trip to Huntsville, Alabama we stopped in Bardstown for lunch at the Old Talbott Tavern the oldest bourbon bar. Tried a Kentucky classic of Burgoo as well as amazing fried green tomatoes. After lunch we stopped at Heaven Hill to see the grounds, gift shop, scored a rare bourbon, and had a drink in 5 Brother's Bar. Heaven Hill was a great stop with an amazing free museum and a beautiful outside sitting area. The Bar was great and we had it to our selves. I wish I could have tried the Old Fitz but wasn't willing to pay $50 for a half ounce pour. Our last stop was a brief one at Willet to see their gift shop. Because of time and a few hours left on our drive we did not do any distillery tours - that we saved for our day trip to Jack Daniel's which will be our next video. This little town is the bourbon capital and a must, we just wish we had more time there but definitely will go back. When traveling to bourbon country be sure to drink responsibility, especially if driving yourself!

Well depends on the definition of close Lexington is about an hour from Bardstown. If you want a closer bourbon experience I would go to Frankfort and check out Buffalo Trace or Castle and Key which is about 40 minutes. Sounds like you are doing the Run the Bluegrass

Delicious 😋 and yes I don't reshoot to show human error I figured that out after it came. I'm heading down this week and home to have more
