They rip up bottoms of wetland and makes survival hard for trumpeter swans and other native water life. They don’t migrate like trumpeters and tundras so of course they outbreed the indigenous swans.
This seems fucked - I wish this channel provided research. It's a bird that feeds on vegetation - so it's not very dangerous to people. I've recently stumbled onto fish and wildlife website invasive species section and to my surprise found mute swan in there - the main claim (almost verbatim as other states) is that they eat too much underwater vegetation and therefore are bad for the environment and other surrounding species (for which no stats of damage were provided...) - I didn't see reference to research proving this, I did however run into a whole bunch of articles of folks calling the whole thing BS (and that one of the 'scientific' docs was thrown out of court essentially for being crap) and so this swan extermination thing seems pretty fishy... Apparently a bunch of localities and some states are voting against swan extermination (which seems like a good thing), however many other states still take these birds out - if you are going to go kill a bunch of birds, I'd like to see the research first...
That's sick! Couldn't watch anymore
i don’t get why you should stop mute swan eggs hatching!

They are invasive species
trumpeters are more aggressive because there have been reports of them killing mutes
swaan
Yep, they're bad news.
All lies, crazy people saying they are dangerous and attack people

They’re observed killing ducklings and ripping up the bottoms of wetlands and coastal estuaries what more research is needed
Thumb americans...
