    Nice! I work with a lot of cypress. It’s such a pretty wood. I’ve been working with some we milled from a tree that Ida took down in terrebonne parish. We are making beautiful treasures from a pretty terrible tragedy.

      @@burnstockwoodworking I’ve used it twice.
      Once on a cypress farmhouse style coffee table and one on a little round red oak side table for my grandmother.
      It was really easy to apply and a little bit goes a long way.
      And you only have to sand up to 150 grit. No falling asleep while sanding.

    Great overview video - thanks for the financial breakdown. 2 Questions: Did you get the Cyprus kiln dried? Did you use dominoes, dowels, or biscuits for the glue up?

    • @burnstockwoodworking
      @burnstockwoodworking  Рік тому +3

      Thanks! The cypress was bought from a local guy and is kiln dried. I don't use any of that for glue ups. If you have square edges you're golden. Biscuits, dowels, and dominoes in big glue ups like that only help in alignment. If you take your time in the milling you can do without all that.

    • @myhoneyshandmade1077
      @myhoneyshandmade1077 Рік тому +2

      Since the glue up was just 2 pieces he really doesnt need help with alignment. The biscuits or domino help with are really for alignment purposes so the table top lines up so you have less sanding.. I just built a table with 8 pieces of wood so I use the domino for alignments and it worked really well.

    I haven't worked with cypress yet. I just finished building an ash table this week for a client. It was 9' long and it was hard to get a good joint on my jointer. Do you get a glue up ready cut with the track saw? That would have saved me a day of jointing and handplaning.

    What makes you think that costumers don't try to find similar items in a beautiful showroom? Or order similar items from their personal woodworker? Why should I store these massive furniture if nobody ordered them? Don't you think that for the majority of hobbyists it would be better to focus on small personalized projects? Don't you have better ideas?
