I know that this is two years old, but when I bought my Galaxy S22 Ultra, DeX became an invaluable tool. Many people forget that Samsung specifically targeted the Note series (and by popular demand the S22 Ultra-Note) to those who are business orientated. That's why I splurged and purchased a $1300 phone. I'm an independent regional operator. Many times I'm out on the road (not at home) and have to give presentations on the fly, and I mean that literally. There are times when I have to give presentations on analytics, logistics, overhead analysis, tax itemization, etc. to a CEO or board of executives on their private aircraft/jets (all of which have onboard "TV's" that are actually monitors with Type-C connections). With DeX, I can do just that. I can finalize my presentation as I'm heading to the airport on my phone using a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse (literally just on my phone), then I can hook my phone up to their "TV", and have a portable "computer" with all of my work on it done. There's no extra laptop, wifi, bouncing between calls, texts, emails, and calendars, it's just all on my one phone and is placed within my pocket. It streamlines so many processes. When I'm done with my presentations, they can literally write, e-sign, and verify the documentation on my phone, and even at times they'll just pay me there via NFC. Speaking of NFC, they can give me the keyless entry keys that I can store on my phone and use to get into wherever I need to go. I've used DeX as my computer. I literally sold my laptop because DeX is so effective. Yes, if you prefer to just have another computer and aren't worried about streamlined processes, then DeX isn't anything special for you. But to anyone who's extremely reliant on technology with high-level businessmen/women, it's an unbelievably valuable tool. I'm so glad that Samsung didn't give up on it.

“What was Samsung DeX?” “It was a rip-off of Windows Continuum.” “What was Windows Continuum?” “It was a rip-off of Ubuntu Convergence.” “What was Ubuntu Convergence?” “We do not speak of Ubuntu Convergence.” “But you just...” “Do. Not. Speak. Of. It.”
I use it everyday and it has completely replaced my computer. It can't be a fail if the entire Chicago Police Department is now using DeX for all of their police units. Total fail though
No no no, Dex is a great concept, very useful even for casual users very fluid and fast, it's like having a docking station for changing with a monitor keyboard and mouse and you can even use it as a media center, it's very useful I think that you miss the concept behind it...
“Couldn’t replace anybody’s laptop”.... “If you have a monitor, you probably have a laptop and I don’t see the point of trying to replace with your phone”.... Man, honestly, you should try to perform a basic search when talking about topics... There are thousands of people across the world replacing their laptops with this concept, myself included... There are growing communities in forums and reddit talking about this, pushing this technology forward... The least you could do when you want to talk about a topic you know nothing about is either document yourself or not talking about it at all. And for all the followers seeing this video and that never heard of DeX before, please, do not draw your final conclusiones based on this biased video, perform additional searches (I recommend MRP channel on UA-cam, its all about DeX). Hope this actually makes you rethink a little bit and better plan your next videos
I just couldn't see myself ditching my Windows 10 PC I couldn't even see myself switching to Mac or Linux as I do a lot of stuff that can only work on Windows 10
I use DEX, but it's limited in the 8 series Samsung phones. Huge difference going to the 9. I was a Windows phone user, and really liked what HP was trying to do with Continuum, but the cost was prohibitive at the time. I just upgraded to a note 9, and received an HP elite 3 lapdock. I like the idea of only having to upgrade my phone to get an upgraded laptop. I have 2 DEX stations that I got super cheap to use in the den, and bedroom. I just plug my phone in, and use a Bluetooth keyboard with trackpad or mouse/trackball depending on what I'm doing. I love having everything in one device. It's basically the only reason I switched to the note series.
I use it Everyday and Love it. I'll watch television and read at the same time or Do home work on a Monitor. When using Dex on windows, I can utilize my Business apps and Do Reports while while being Entertained by live television on the same screen and texting at the same time. I don't use the Dex Hub, I use my Note 10 plus and take advantage of all that power and memory. Dex allows me to take advantage of the Reason why we pay so much for these High Priced Phones instead of just answering the phone.
DEX is awesome, i use it every day on my s10+. I use is for desktop/laptop as I don't currently have/need them. Things have changed quite a bit since s8+ and Samsung continue to update and provide a better DEX service, they obviously rightly believe in DEX potential. It's the future man, everything from one device (your phone).
I've been using my continuum dock for my old windows phone to use the dex feature. But, dex is very useful. I'm really surprised their isn't more focus on it.
I use Dex and had some luck with running World of Warcraft via ShadowPC through DexX (another streaming PC service, but a little different). I use DeX mainly for work, I travel alot and do alot of building inspections. I can move through my building inspections and QA checks and snap pictures on my phone, create notes, audio files etc, then click up to my Dex Pad and write my reports.
I actually still used on my s8 when I'm watching movies and TV shows its more convenient than watching them on phone screen and way cheaper than buying a laptop .
There are definitely reasons to use dex over windows, for one thing, it can do all your daily tasks like browsing, word, excel, etc. And also all your need to do your work is your phone. Its a really great solution for people who don't necessarily need a lot of high-performance apps.
*You can connect it wireless to a smart TV and use the phone as a trackpad.* Super useful for those of us who stream media on special secret android only apps.
Just watched this video, I plugged in dex used RDClient and everything windows 10 worked perfectly, even decided to write this comment on windows streaming to dex.
Dex is very useful for entrepreneurs and business professionals who travel a lot and need to be productive without having a laptop with them all the time. Many youtubers are just kids out of college and think professionals are only content creators. I rarely use my laptop as I am running a multi-site staffing agency, working from various venues, its just convenient to have a Tab S4 and work from anywhere.
Prof business men's use a laptop and not samsung dex and dex requires a 2ⁿᵈ screen anyways if your obsessed with Samsung dex which I don't see any use case just use a galaxy tab honestly
watching this in 2022. Samung Dex is still not forgotten and more amazing then ever. Sure Aside form a dekstop PC, I have my laptop which is my go to PC when I need to be on the go. But sometimes you just need to go even lighter. OR just didnt think youd need a laptop where you go. But you always have your phone. Example from literally a few days ago. Went to my grandma who doesn't have and doesnt want to buy a PC. I was there just for coffee but she asked me for a recommendation for a vacuum and where she could buy it. I connected my phone to her rather old TV (if anyone asks how; I usually carry around a small 3d printed case with afe handy adapters, USB Micro-C, C-HDMI etc) We looked through way more offers online than she would have imagined are available, ordered it online, looked up a summary of an episode of a TV show she missed recently, Checked her online status for the availability of her 3rd vaccacine shot, checked on some news about local celebrities she was just very interested in, and looked at some pictures and videos from my cousin who is in Mexico on the big screen (something she wasnt able to do herself). All that without any planning ahead. And we did it TOGETHER instead of just me tapping at my tiny phone while she waits for me to finish.
When DeX was launched, you required a DeX Pad/Dock. If you have a Note9 or newer, you can use a USB-C to HDMI / USB-C to USB-C cable. If you had Android 9 Pie, you could use the Linux beta.
lol, many people from many countries use it, it's not old at all and is constantly being updated. Not a samsung fan, but its a really innovative and works really well.
Dex on Note10+ was great, and saved my life when my laptop had a problem and I had no computer for few months, used Dex for everything and it was great. Now got S22 and dex keeps improving. Donno why you have so much negativity towards it in this video.
Here we are in 2021 and I'm still using Dex everyday. I own an I7 desktop but I find DEX just as useful for most tasks and I always have it on me even when traveling. It's a lot easier than pulling out my ROG 10lbs laptop when visiting my parents. Heck it even connects to their tv on the fly, something my laptop doesnt do to share photos. Even gaming on DEX rivals games like Call of duty these days!
Thanks for putting your time and effort in making videos like this. I know i would probably be in your position wasting so much time on something like this and my husband would get upset that i am wasting time lol. I have seen other videos mentioning that you can convert .exe files into apk and run them on android. Do you think maybe that would be possible? I understand if you dont want to go into that tunnel i am just running on curiosity lol
The one thing I did like about being able to use Dex on Windows, is that it doesn't draw from your hotspot data allotment. It's still considered device data....( Which with my particular plan is unlimited.)
you should try an arm based windows, because what you did was emulating hardware (thats really power hungry). If you use an arm based windows, it will be a virtualisation that really much light to run but your processor and host os have to support it
I've used dex to edit photos in Lightroom, edit documents, and remote desktop. When I connect it to my Wacom mobilestudio pro I can use the pen to draw in sketchbook as well (just something I decided to try to see if it would work).
I use Samsung DeX everyday on my Tab S7 FE and Note 20 Ultra. I like the fact that I can use Samsung DeX with my work laptop, which have 3x 24" monitors. First two monitors are for Windows 10 where I do my work and the third monitor I move Samsung DeX to the third monitor and I can send and received text, play COD and most importantly, watch UA-cam Vanced.
Hmm it's late 2021 right now and Dex is still going strong. With wireless support, 5G speeds, faster than ever chips and hardware, and an expanding list of PC cross platform app support such as Adobes editing apps and AAA games like Fortnite & COD mobile i feel like mobile computing is just getting started and once the tech reaches a certain threshold like the new arm processors or the M1 chips getting implemented into phones they'll replace the traditional PC or laptop for the casual user market. I guess only time will tell.
Kudos for even attempting Windows installs on an phone. Several corrections... * Continuum. It wasn't just the HP Elite 3 which did this. Several Windows Mobile devices have Continuum. 950, 950XL, and the Jade. * Continuum Dock. You don't need the HP Elite's dock. Microsoft had a dock for the 950 and 950XL. Further, most USB-C to HDMI adapters work. (And the HPs and Microsoft docks work with any each other and any laptops also) * There are many hubs which provide USB-C power delivery pass-through. You don't need the Samsung Dex dock in order to get power to your phone while using Dex. The uses for Dex are fairly clear... especially for a Note device. 1. File Management. Especially for a Note device which is taking meeting notes, marking up pages, etc. during meeting and on the go... it saves a lot of time to be able to connect to a PC and see the screens. Dragging files on and off. Managing notes, marked up web pages, large file libraries, large photo collections, music files, videos, etc. 2. Projecting on a meeting. Running presentations, web sites, local apps, etc. on a board room TV, projector, or computer -- or someone's laptop or computer when sitting around. Saves carrying around a laptop for simple things. Remember you are also use Dex wirelessly. 3. Quick projection on a home TV. If you have a smart TV, Roku, or other box... you can project wirelessly to the device. Perfectly fine for showing photos, videos, web pages, maps, etc. 4. Running Android apps on Windows (or a TV). If you have a Windows PC and there is an app you want to run... emulation kind of sucks. Many Apps do not have Windows Store equivalents or they don't work well. Same with smart TVs (or set boxes) which don't have a specific app or any which don't support a keyboard/mouse. 5. You have corporate web appplications you need to access on the go. Yes, you can bring a laptop with you, but... often a small keyboard and mouse is easier. Easy to plug into a hotel TV. 6. You have a portable USB-C monitor. These now exist and are far less expensive than a laptop. 7. You just hate syncing. If you deal with a lot of emails, text messages, and are out of the office a lot. If you have a lot of contracts. Sometimes it is better just having them all on one device rather than getting an email on your phone and rushing to a PC because if you send from your phone, those sent messages won't be on your PC. 8. Android development or a PC.
You keep on saying it's useless. I own a desktop gaming pc but I don't have a laptop, I've just discovered the Nexdock Touch, a laptop-like dock that connects via USBC to the phone, with a screen, backlit keyboard, touch pad and Huge battery, it charges the phone and detects peripherals like mice and printers. It's a dream! I might never buy a laptop again since my phone has converted into one.
Samsung Dex is great imo, but obviously it depends on what you use it for. Is it going to replace a gaming machiine or a work computer? The answer would be no at the moment, but I would love for my answer to be transformed to a "yes" in the future. I use Dex at the house and it's just like a computer linked to the internet for surfing, watching videos etc, but w/out paying an extra $50-$100+ a month for a dedicated interent connection. If you "need" a dedicated internet connection to play games, then I'm happy for you. Also, it would nice to run Windows programs on a Dex and that's what brought me here to your video, but as your experience indicated, it's currently not practical and I appreciate your attempts. Realistically, it may not be doable in the future either, because Windows continuously bloats their software w/ every newer version to become larger and Larger, which I imagine AMD & Intel are grateful for. What happened to optimizing the software for the resources available? If they did that, for say a subset of Windows software, that would allow you to only install the features you needed to run your Windows software, then it may and of course, it still may not be possible...
The mouse is not disappearing because the game can only hide/center the mouse on your pc but the program you use to stream does not hide/center the mouse of dex. So dex is not the problem.
I use Dex all the time, I connect my phone to a 16 inch Portable Monitor and watch movies and play games. the great thing about dex is you dont have to use Mirror Mode. Mirror mode eats up battery life as you have to have your screen on to mirror. With Dex you do not, you can play your games or watch movies with your Phone screen off which keeps battery life great. I use it all the time as i have a bunch of gaming emulators and movie apps. So Dex makes it for a great way to play games and watch movies while not eating phone battery.
Keep in mind that DeX can be a full blown desktop replacement for people who live on their phones. Most people just browse social media, shop on Amazon, and watch UA-cam, Netflix, etc. Lots of people play mobile games now too and don't have flashy RGB gaming rigs. While on that topic- Android is a great platform for retro game emulation. It can be nice to sit on the couch with a BT controller while gaming on your TV. So while you sit there and complain about all the things it can't do; try looking at the things that it CAN do. A USB-C to HDMI cable can negate the need to purchase a cheap Chromebook with shoddy build quality or an expensive ultrabook. I mean you already have an expensive phone right? For the masses; this is enough. For power-users; a lot will always be desired. Everyone's use-case is different though.
The problem is that ARM processors are RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computer) processors. Being that x86 and amd64 processors are all CISC (Complex Instruction Set Computers), your best bet would probably be trying to run a Linux version that runs on ARM, but that would be pointless, since Android is a Linux distro itself.
One use case i can see for dex is maybe remote desktop from a phone, EG: i dont have my laptop and i need to remote into my desktop and use a keyboard + mouse, i can just plug in a dex dock and remote into my PC from there.
We use Dex on pair with work's desktops which strict security policies which won't allow for a variety of simple software and online services running properly, like Outlook or Adobe cloud services even Office 365.. Also works perfectly on vehicles with rear displays.. Or anywhere with a projector... Dex even helped us to set up a PPV event backup once when signal was lost due to a tall truck cutting the Fibre at a small bar.. you should start widening your perspective..
Mouse grabbing doesn't work because it's not implemented neither on the DeX side nor remote-desktop app (i guess). Win10 won't work through Limbo coz Limbo is a poor, castrated port of Linux's QEMU. But, there's a project called "Linux on DeX", allowing you to run native ARM64 Ubuntu virtual machine trough DeX. If you would have installed x86 libraries as well there, i think there would be also possibility to run Steam trough qemu-x86_64 (which allows you to run apps from other architectures, but the need is to have app's native set of libraries).
This also works with note 8, but can be finicky having to unplug and replug dock until its detected, but than works fine as long as you dont power off the dock again.
It may have been that you tried to install a normal version on windows 10 while running an arm based cpu, arm based cpus which are used in basically all mobile phones use different architectures and instruction sets compared to arm and intel, which may have been the reason for all the problems. Maybe for a second attempt try this using windows 10 arm edition. I had no problems doing this on my galaxy s10 with this method.
Hey. If you want to stream games to your Android phone Steam link may be the best choice. Also NX client I think works pretty well on a regular phone, not sure if the mouse thing won't happen with Dex as well.
i use DEX for work related stuff like doing Documentation stuff and doing PowerPoint presentation for my boss or my Team, having a phone as an option to be your laptop is not a bad idea i don't even need to bring a big ass bag just to carry my laptop.
I've seen a lot of people using Dex lately so i wouldnt really call it a fail. You should definitely check out ETA Prime channel more. He uses Dex all the time
I use it on my note 9 for school, it's actually working just fine and like every other laptop. But guess what, I also have a remote (the Pen). With just the one cable its also way faster to setup than any other device
@@MobileDecay Linux on DeX is cancelled, not Samsung DeX. Linux on DeX is a container app that allows Linux distribution software (like Ubuntu) to run on top of DeX, that's why it's called 'Linux on DeX'.
byte.me If Dex was successful they wouldn’t have cancelled Linux on Dex. Dex is fun but pointless. If when you docked your phone you got a full Windows or Linux desktop experience it would make more sense. However getting a hacked up less functional android experience is pointless. All these apps are optimized to use with a touch screen just fine. It’s not giving you more powerful apps. It actually gives you less apps due to the compatibility.
@@MobileDecay Where'd you pull that from? Out of your ass? DeX is neither successful nor unsuccessful yet because until recently, it was only available in flagship devices. But there is word that Samsung will roll it out to other devices, as well. Besides, most of the people who used it liked it. Why? Because it affords them a desktop-like environment for multitasking and productivity, and it's a feature that iOS doesn't have. Doesn't matter if it isn't Windows, because it doesn't have to be. There are productivity apps already available in the Play Store. DeX is even better on a tablet (especially if you have the book cover keyboard) because it's readily accessible. No need for an external monitor, but you still have that option though. DeX works with either touch or with a mouse. Samsung DeX is still young for anyone to tell whether or not it's successful. And the compatibility will only improve from here on. FYI, Samsung just recently added DeX on Windows for the Note 10 series and the upcoming Galaxy S11 will come with DeX. According to a Samsung representative, Linux on DeX is being speculated to have been cancelled because Samsung was afraid it would eat into the would-be market for their new Samsung Galaxy Book, which is a ridiculous reason as Linux is quite niche. In any case, Linux on DeX is not Samsung DeX, and DeX is here to stay. Just because it didn't meet YOUR expectations doesn't mean it's unsuccessful. Have you ever even used DeX before? Wrote this on DeX, by the way.
For newer games in Windows 10 and for those who don't have a gaming PC or even a PC at all, for $35 a month you can used Shadow PC. Awesome service if you're a hardcore gamer. I don't play games that much so I no longer use the service because I've managed to get older windows apps I like/use working on my Note 9.
I actually have used it a few times. At work, I hook up my laptop to a monitor. Various times such as when I have forgotten my charger or my laptop was getting fixed I was able to work still while using Samsung dex.
I use DEX daily. My company recently went very strict on installing software on office PCs or bringing a laptop from home... but of course - smartphones are just fine. And as it happens, we have DELL screens with USB-C connectors... So I just plug that guy in and I can play games or watch netflix the whole day instead of working just like I did before the policy change.

Wow… this is 2 years old… dex is beast now.
I went to a Samsung presentation a while back for law enforcement, they are putting Samsung Dex into police cars to replace their bulky laptops.
Nathan Matteson i guess this is why galaxies have backdoors
That's really cool bud
@@Thanatos4655 LOL
I use it everyday and it has completely replaced my computer. It can't be a fail if the entire Chicago Police Department is now using DeX for all of their police units. Total fail though
No no no, Dex is a great concept, very useful even for casual users very fluid and fast, it's like having a docking station for changing with a monitor keyboard and mouse and you can even use it as a media center, it's very useful I think that you miss the concept behind it...
But there are other ways to use dex
I've an unofficial dongle which works the same way but can charge your phone at the same time
I think this is a great concept and really puts your channel out there. Keep up the great work man!
How can someone make a video about a product and know absolutely nothing about it???????
That right there is why samsung better than apple

DEX is awesome, i use it every day on my s10+. I use is for desktop/laptop as I don't currently have/need them. Things have changed quite a bit since s8+ and Samsung continue to update and provide a better DEX service, they obviously rightly believe in DEX potential. It's the future man, everything from one device (your phone).
I've been using my continuum dock for my old windows phone to use the dex feature. But, dex is very useful. I'm really surprised their isn't more focus on it.
Nice vid 91Tech
Like always
Can you review the beats solo 3 wireless
I use Dex and had some luck with running World of Warcraft via ShadowPC through DexX (another streaming PC service, but a little different). I use DeX mainly for work, I travel alot and do alot of building inspections. I can move through my building inspections and QA checks and snap pictures on my phone, create notes, audio files etc, then click up to my Dex Pad and write my reports.
You have to try the arm version of Windows.
yea this guy clearly doesn't understand basics of cpu architecture
I actually still used on my s8 when I'm watching movies and TV shows its more convenient than watching them on phone screen and way cheaper than buying a laptop .
There are definitely reasons to use dex over windows, for one thing, it can do all your daily tasks like browsing, word, excel, etc. And also all your need to do your work is your phone. Its a really great solution for people who don't necessarily need a lot of high-performance apps.
*You can connect it wireless to a smart TV and use the phone as a trackpad.* Super useful for those of us who stream media on special secret android only apps.
Thanks for saving me the time of trying to get Windows working on DeX! ... apparently Linux works, so I might give that a go.
Dex is a great emulation box.
yes, up to gamecube and even a few ps2 titles on my tv its sick.
Intro: Anyone remember Samsung Dex?
Me: I don't think so.
Woah there buster. This is illegal
Just watched this video, I plugged in dex used RDClient and everything windows 10 worked perfectly, even decided to write this comment on windows streaming to dex.
writing this on samsung dex. now i will try to replicate what you did and reply again on windows 10. wish me luck
You deserve a lot more subscribers!
Failed I’m on dex watching right now
lol replying to this comment on dex.
watching this in 2022.
I connected my phone to her rather old TV (if anyone asks how; I usually carry around a small 3d printed case with afe handy adapters, USB Micro-C, C-HDMI etc)
We looked through way more offers online than she would have imagined are available, ordered it online, looked up a summary of an episode of a TV show she missed recently, Checked her online status for the availability of her 3rd vaccacine shot, checked on some news about local celebrities she was just very interested in, and looked at some pictures and videos from my cousin who is in Mexico on the big screen (something she wasnt able to do herself).
All that without any planning ahead. And we did it TOGETHER instead of just me tapping at my tiny phone while she waits for me to finish.
love your videos❤❤❤

Failed experiment? That's funny. It's the biggest thing.
Good effort matey I'm proud of you 👏 👍
The one thing I did like about being able to use Dex on Windows, is that it doesn't draw from your hotspot data allotment. It's still considered device data....( Which with my particular plan is unlimited.)
you should try an arm based windows, because what you did was emulating hardware (thats really power hungry). If you use an arm based windows, it will be a virtualisation that really much light to run but your processor and host os have to support it
This came in handy when my computer died and had to wait for the vendor to fix it. It is a great option for back up.
I've used dex to edit photos in Lightroom, edit documents, and remote desktop.
When I connect it to my Wacom mobilestudio pro I can use the pen to draw in sketchbook as well (just something I decided to try to see if it would work).
Really cool hope this becomes the future
I use Samsung DeX everyday on my Tab S7 FE and Note 20 Ultra. I like the fact that I can use Samsung DeX with my work laptop, which have 3x 24" monitors. First two monitors are for Windows 10 where I do my work and the third monitor I move Samsung DeX to the third monitor and I can send and received text, play COD and most importantly, watch UA-cam Vanced.
You should have used steam remote play to stream the desktop to your phone. Steam remote play works perfectly with the normal desktop and games.
Dex is my daily driver and super useful. Definitely not a failed experiment!
It was ?? It still is...
That was an older version of DeX on an older phone. DeX is still going strong, just get a S21 and a USB-C to HDMI adapter.
I guess only time will tell.
mobile replacing 4k, yea, see you in 150 years bro.
(And the HPs and Microsoft docks work with any each other and any laptops also)
* There are many hubs which provide USB-C power delivery pass-through.
Thanks, man you saved me a lot of time.
I use DeX with my Samsung S10+ all the time and its pretty useful and convenient when I want to get some school work done.
Everyone's use-case is different though.
why using parsec then? you can use moonlight which play locally and better latency
Or Google remote desktop
Samsung DeX is much more popular now than it was a few years ago. It's mainly used on Samsung Galaxy Tabs though.
You can use a windows phone if you have the docking station
0:04 I feel so conflicted about that word about Dex
Dex with OneUI is awesome and I can't wait to see OneUI 2 on it
The problem is that ARM processors are RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computer) processors.
Keep up the great vids
Try running Windows 98, 2000, or XP on a Wii. It’s possible.
Well, now the Tab S6 has Samsung Dex soooooooo yeahhhhhhh
We use Dex on pair with work's desktops which strict security policies which won't allow for a variety of simple software and online services running properly, like Outlook or Adobe cloud services even Office 365..
Also works perfectly on vehicles with rear displays.. Or anywhere with a projector...
Dex even helped us to set up a PPV event backup once when signal was lost due to a tall truck cutting the Fibre at a small bar.. you should start widening your perspective..
Imagine if they had a dex for the Samsung Fold
Imagine if Microsoft made a Windows Phone Fold
The Galaxy Fold does have Dex support? Dex is still being updated
DeX is on the galaxy fold
Dex is on the Fold you no longer need a Dex dock to use Dex just a USB-c to HDMI and it is enabled
If you would have installed x86 libraries as well there, i think there would be also possibility to run Steam trough qemu-x86_64 (which allows you to run apps from other architectures, but the need is to have app's native set of libraries).
well..... since Samsung note 9 you can startup dex with any usb-c to hdmi dock, but S8/S8+/S9/S9+ need a samsung dex station or dex pad.
Congrats you know more about dex than he does
This also works with note 8, but can be finicky having to unplug and replug dock until its detected, but than works fine as long as you dont power off the dock again.
Dex hasn't faded. My company literally uses it in our BCP. Sooooooo.
Hey. If you want to stream games to your Android phone Steam link may be the best choice. Also NX client I think works pretty well on a regular phone, not sure if the mouse thing won't happen with Dex as well.
it’s not failed? Many people are using it and is not bad or really trashy
this kid acts like 2017 was 1983
i use DEX for work related stuff like doing Documentation stuff and doing PowerPoint presentation for my boss or my Team, having a phone as an option to be your laptop is not a bad idea i don't even need to bring a big ass bag just to carry my laptop.
Linux on Dex man. You should check that out. Works like a charm
DeX is great. I use it every day as my primary computer.
The way you talk about Dex in the past tense and are so ill-informed about it is so pretentious. It's useful for many people, including techies.
Oh yeah everyone is using. Lol. There's a reason Samsung cancelled Linux on Dex.
Thank you. That's the word I was trying to think of describing this guy ,PRETENTIOUS..
A lot of people have an old slow pc that can't even brows the web seamlessly... so dex definitely seems like it would be useful...
I use DeX daily
Didn't want to spend hundreds on a new computer tower.
Already having a flagship samsung dex was the perfect solution.
Well this didn't age well.
youtube compression really hit this video hard
