At least it protects iPhone models that can shatter its back. The 5c case is pointless since plastic doesn’t shatter, making the 5c one of the most durable iPhones
@@Blank00 5C owner here - the case still had important utility - the plastic could still form rough gouges you could feel with the hand. For one; the case (and by extension most silicone cases) prevented drops to begin with, and prevented gouges to the plastic when dropped. Also Apple’s black silicone case showing the yellow of my 5C is still an aesthetic I appreciated far more than my later space gray SE1 in Apple black leather case and even a fair bit more than my current yellow XR bare.
Amazing to me that the all iPhones older than the 6 have just been IMEI blocked in Australia on the 28th of Oct. I remember when they came out like it was yesterday. You can sometimes tell a 5C that had been used in the offical case. The exposed parts of the phone would fade so that when the case was removed you can see circles.
Is this due to the VoLTE capability missing? As can’t see any reason otherwise. That said I’m in the UK and we still have 2&3G network as of right now.
This is my favorite case, when I had the iPhone XR I wanted a case like this so badly. It looked so good when both the case and phone were the same color
I really miss that Apple and 2013 in general. Social media was starting to be a thing on phones but it was not even close to what it is today, Apple released iOS 7, iPhones were still exciting... good times
I think with a bit of redesigning, this type of case will match perfectly with the regular iPhone 16 and 16 Plus given how iPhones nowadays no longer have the iPhone name and the serial info printed near the bottom of the back of the phone. It will actually look finished and well thought out as opposed to the 5C where the holes showed those info but it’s cut, so it just looks unfinished.
I had this iPhone as a temporary replacement after my 5s broke in July 2016, it lasted till January 2018 when I made a poor attempt at repairing it which caused the whole phone to stop working entirely. I can’t remember what went wrong exactly. When I got my 5c in August 2016, I remember updating it to iOS 9 from iOS 7 which I still regret to this day as I didn’t realise how an iOS 7 5c would be rare or anything like that.
It’s so weird when someone calls this the worst iPhone ever. I used this one for like 3 years, and I loved it! It’s one of my favorite iPhone’s I’ve had 💙
As an iPhone 13 Mini user with an Apple Leather Case, I feel obligated to share my disappointment with both being a thing of the past. The combo of the small mini with that wonderful soft leather is something I doubt I will be able to match again. Just so dang nice in the hand.
The nice thing about the 5c was that you weren't scared to drop it. I had the 4S which was the most beautiful iPhone ever, but if you dropped that you'd easily crack it. I had the 5 before the 5c but I didn't like the metal back at all. So my wife got my 5 and I got a 5c
God, I too had an otterbox for my 4S and I’m so glad the trend has gone towards minimalist cases now lol although my friend also had an otterbox on his too and it survived a car running it over at 35 mph, so the protection was well worth the price tag 😂
I also had the blue 5C but I had the yellow case like this. It was actually quite funky and felt nice in the hand. Often I carried it naked as well, but it developed loads of micro scratches over time.
I loved mine!!! Got mine in March 2014, was my first iPhone. I had the green 5C but at first made the mistake of getting the blue case and it was way too Smurfie for me, so they let me return it and I got the black one. It made that green pop, very art deco BUT in Canada, I wish I had paid the extra $100 to get the 5S because my 5C started to slow down after around 1.5 years and I even had to change the battery and I think it was the last 32 Bit iPhone and the 5S was 64 and more future-proofed
Had a bumper case on my blue 5c. I remember my dad had just moved our entire family plan from tmobile to sprint and I was the only one that got a 5c. I loved it doe
I never bought this for my former iPhone 5C. The protective cover should protect, but this cover has holes, so the back cover of the phone may get scratched at the holes. The iPhone 5c was Apple's most iconic phone. The only one with a plastic shell?
I had this case in white for my yellow iPhone 5c and not a week goes by where I don’t wonder what on earth I was thinking with that colour combo choice, I was possessed when making that purchase.
Oddly enough this case doesn't trigger my trypophobia. If the pattern wasn't uniform and the case was thicker than it is then maybe. Uneven holes, lotus pods, bugs/frogs with eggs on its back are different stories.
Kinda wish you told us what apple’s sales expectations were for this, you mentioned it twice in the video. You also said it didn’t sell too badly, how much did it sell exactly? Great video otherwise, just missing some key/interesting facts
When the 5C came out, on my next trip to the Apple Store I would check it out even though I would buy a iPhone 5. When I first saw and held the display model, I saw a chip in the plastic in the corner on one and a crack in the corner on the other. Immediately I knew this was going to be a failure. Didn’t take long for it to happen. The C stood for “cheap” and I was scratching my head why Apple would even make a third rate phone like this to begin with when everything they sell is premium.
Missed opportunity to talk about that game (or series of games?) that actually work when using this case to cover the screen (only the dots part is used for gameplay)
I had the yellow phone and got the yellow case to match because I wanted to show off my yellow phone but still having a case on it lol. Tbh I never really noticed the words poking through but was mad it covered up the Apple logo
I don’t know if Trypophobia gets triggered in too many people with something like this, the circles are the same size and in an aesthetically pleasing pattern. I have Trypophobia and this case doesn’t bother me. If they were all in different sizes and with absolutely no pattern whatsoever and weren’t all the same depth, then people like myself may be turned off.
The most unnecessary iPhone case ever, considering that the polycarbonate phone is less likely to scratch than the Aluminum iPhones and less likely to shatter than the glassback iPhones, making it one of the most durable iPhones.
*fine woven* “hold my beer”
At least it protects iPhone models that can shatter its back. The 5c case is pointless since plastic doesn’t shatter, making the 5c one of the most durable iPhones
I liked the fabric of the fine woven case but the rubber edge fell tf apart after like 2 months

I definitely thought this was going to be about FineWoven until I understood what I was looking at in the thumbnail

Does this mean I can't even use cellular on iPhone 5s?
Nooooo
All iPhones older than the iPhone 6 were already unusable here in the US because all the cellular network standards they used have already shut down.
Is this due to the VoLTE capability missing? As can’t see any reason otherwise. That said I’m in the UK and we still have 2&3G network as of right now.
@@JoBot__4G is shutdown in the US?
I used to see iPhone 5C everywhere. So it did quite well. But it paved the way for the iPhone SE, which was much nicer.
I kinda like it honestly lol, maybe not a first party case from apple but i would buy it
"It's so bad, it's good" is probably the definition of this case
I’m trypophobic but I don’t trigger any fears on this case because the holes are arranged and not scattered
"The worst iPhone case ever"- Finewoven has entered the chat

I had always noticed this at 14:15 but nobody else has mentioned it when talking about this case! Glad you pointed it out

This barely counts as a case and they still charged full price for it. Apple truly thinks different

The iPhone 5c was Apple's most iconic phone. The only one with a plastic shell?
fine woven is worse, this case was just weird but not that bad personally. Back in the day I actually thought it was kinda cool
For something made by apple to be called bad means it's very very bad. Nothing apple makes is above the level of just "very bad"
The iPhone 5c is the most colorful any Apple product will ever be again.
“non”
They should’ve made the whole case with holes and remove the Apple logo part for the real one to show
People complain that about doesn’t experiment with the camera design, but when they experimented with cases everyone hated it.
my dad owned the otterbox for the iphone 4
Crocs.
I had this case in white for my yellow iPhone 5c and not a week goes by where I don’t wonder what on earth I was thinking with that colour combo choice, I was possessed when making that purchase.

Oh come on, we all know the iPhone 4 “bumper case” was the worst one ever. Mostly because it was only engineered to fix a product defect..
Kinda wish you told us what apple’s sales expectations were for this, you mentioned it twice in the video. You also said it didn’t sell too badly, how much did it sell exactly? Great video otherwise, just missing some key/interesting facts

At the time. I fell in love with the possibilities of combinations .😍
I liked my 5C BUT it should have had the newer CPU of the 5S and it's features including Touch ID.
And here I am with my new pink iPhone 16 plus with a $15 clear glitter case from Amazon 😹
me with oneplus 11 and spigen clear case:
Missed opportunity to talk about that game (or series of games?) that actually work when using this case to cover the screen (only the dots part is used for gameplay)
would be cool of the holes further from the center got gradually smaller and faded away
This case remembers me of the galaxy s10e case that came in the box
I was gonna say I've bought some recent iPhone cases that I swear were probably worse 😅
I like it. It's innovative and cool. Represents a different time in tech and history imo
I had the yellow phone and got the yellow case to match because I wanted to show off my yellow phone but still having a case on it lol. Tbh I never really noticed the words poking through but was mad it covered up the Apple logo
Totally forgot about that case
Really weird takeaway from this video: I'm older than Josh?!
I've always thought "91" was because of the year he was born but damn.

I actually thought the 5C case was kinda cool
Apple may have taken a look at some windows phones for inspiration for the 5c beacause windows phones are well known to be colorfull and plastic
They would've been revolutionary if they sold a striped one
Now if they made one of these for the new iPhones, I'd rock it
The iPhone 5c was beautiful
That phone and case fit perfectly into 2013. Only thing strange is that both is from apple
Great observation about “non-phone” 😅 Indeed the worst flop for Apple!
I love the Non phone 5C
okay but it didn't disintegrated like the fine woven cases
Not sure why they didn’t just release a version without the holes
I like it. It reminds me of my crocs
A giant apple logo cut out would’ve been better imo
Is this a joke?
i wanted this phone and case so bad back in the day lol
It would be the best but obscuring the Apple text makes it the worst
Iloved the look of 5c and its case but went for 5s since why wouldn’t i, but stand alone it looked cool specially with case
Looks like an air freshener.
I actually love it to be honest. I think it’s very subjective.
I find a non phone fully id still rock something like that
what i wouldn't give to have iphone 11 version of that case
thank you for persona 5 bg osts
Why just why? What are these holes for 😭
El iPhone 5C tenia mejor 4G que el iPhone 5.
All of their cases suck. Way better options for far cheaper.
More like Crocsophobia 🐊
I mean I think it's fine
The iPhone SE 0
They could have just made a clear case
