- BNSF Trains on the Gallup Subdivision in northern New Mexico along the summer green desert plains. Tons of action and meets at sunrise/sunset at all new locations for me and potentially a few new original locations. Also features some coal trains which I don't typically get to see a lot of in Arizona as well as a solid FXE set on BNSF's El Paso Subdivision.
Please leave a like comment and subscribe!
Also Stay tuned for part 2 along the border of NM and AZ!

Excellent video, great locations.
so awesome!!! You have so much potential with that scenery. It would really help even more if you could pan and zoom or show different angles and a wider angle when the train is passing by and also with panning it on occasions.
Always loved watching the BNSF transcom along I-40 when we lived in ABQ. Amazing the amount of double stacks that roll through every day.
Living near Abo Pass, so the Clovis-Belen sub for us (thank you Erica...) A neighbor and I used to count, out of curiosity, and saw a total of 140 to 170 trains in both directions daily near Abo, average. And most were double stack.
Excellent video.
Yes! At Last New Mexico. Cheers!
Wow...the scenery! Great cuts, style and color.
Great run bys. Very enjoyable to watch.
super film!
Awesome stuff
Nice, I just subscribed
Great video!
Freaking Awesome! 5*****
Awesome usually when I go to Denver all you see are mostly coal trains
A lot of EMD SD70ACe’s
Incredible just done right what else can I say
And most of the time BNSF has CNW style operation of its trains in these parts of New Mexico. Somehow this actually dates from Santa Fe days as in the area around Gallup, NM the Santa Fe had eastbound loads going upgrade and empties going downgrade.
Great video awesome catches and shots sir!!
It's only a matter of time before we have doublestack container trains on BNSF, UP, NS and CSX where all the containers are labeled for Amazon....
That's out on the BNSF Southern Transon. That high iron sees a lot of work. I know that transcon well.
The world needs more woman like you
The BNSF Southern Transcon has many subdivisions. I will list them below in [brackets].[Hereford] from Amarillo, and the [Slaton] from Lubbock Texas merges in Texico New Mexico and Farwell Texas.
[Clovis] from Texico NM into the [Clovis] Yard, Clovis NM[
Clovis] from Clovis NM to Belen Junction near Los Lunas NM
[Gallup] from Belen Junction near Los Lunas NM to Winslow AZ[
Seligman] from Winslow AZ to Needles CA
[Needles] from Needles CA to Barstow CA and [Barstow] Yard[
Cajon] from Barstow CA to San Bernardino CA
[San Bernardino] from San Bernardino CA to southeast of downtown Los Angeles CA
[Alameda Corridor] southeast of downtown Los Angeles CA to the Ports of Los Angeles/Long Beach
Amtrak's Southwest Chief joins the transcon at Belen Junction near Los Lunas NM off the Glorieta Subdivision from Las Vegas NM to Belen Junction. It will run the subdivisions above except the [Alameda Corridor]. The SWC will run the [Redondo Flyover] southeast of downtown Los Angeles, run the west bank of the Los Angeles River on the [River] Sub into Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.
Amtrak's Southwest Chief serves the following states;Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and California respectively from Chicago to Los Angeles. The Number 3 is westbound, the Number 4 is eastbound. Most if not all the subdivisions it runs are owned by BNSF.
The BNSF Southern Transcon runs roughly parallel with Historic Route 66 from south of Albuquerque NM to Los Angeles, and Interstate 40. Route 66 runs from Chicago to Los Angeles. The states in its path are the following; Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. Interstate 40 runs from Wilmington NC to Barstow CA. States in its path include; North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California.
Great! Wish I lived closer, I'm in the UK. I model BNSF (HO) in the attic.
Fantastic video. What camera did you use?
I live on the BNSF El Paso sub Ferromex units are common on the sub
Seannn do you ever see them in the morning? I’ve been trying to catch them in the morning. If you don’t mind me asking where along the el paso sub do you live?
My belief is that finished autos come up from El Paso from Mexico with its own Ferromex motive power then BNSF takes them either to Denver via Texas or toward Chicago.
Sometimes you can see ferromex locomotives on morning trains but I live in las cruces on the El Paso sub
@@southernNMRail-Refuse18 Okeedokee thanks for the info
Ferromex is out of Mexico
Is left hand running standard practice in New Mexico?
Jerry Smith yes
that goes back to the AT&SF days
Trains are cut.
please add all the train numbers as it annoying to see 3 or 4 other trains with no numbers thanks
Was it hot there
Not as hot as Florida in August. I lived in New Mexico for 8 years as a young person in school. Surprisingly due to the altitude in most of NM it makes for reasonable temps during the summer months. As I recall it rarely went much above the mid 90's during the day and dropped into the 60's and low 70's at night.
