"Imagine Dragons is not rock? Are they deathcore?" caught me off guard 🤣🤣🤣
This should be pinned. LMAO!
I was going to come down here and type that!
Same
It's housewife and advertisement music.
LMFAO 😂
“Smells and come” - Nik Nocturnal, 2023
The final second of this video is the funniest content Nik has ever produced.
Come for the mid content stay for the one liners
The fact that you know the melody to Do I Wanna Know so well without even knowing what it's called shows how catchy and pervasive it is... like it or not it's not surprising at all that it has a billion streams
All I know is someone says “Arctic Monkeys guitar riff song” and I know exactly which one they’re talking about.
Gotta love the chat collectively groaning because they are elitist idiots who are still stuck to when they were 14 year old boys.
Not even a fan of the band personally but you can't argue that they are not a good rock band. Same with Paramore being nominated for a Grammy in Nik's video, so many hate comments with one in particular saying "do they even use guitars in Paramore?"....wtf
@@AILDDuckTeoits just that theyre so painfully safe and average so while they arent necessarily "bad" theyre not really good either. it honestly feels weird to call them rock, ig theyre like truck commercial/arena "rock" but idk. like everyones argument is always "but theyre popular so that must mean theyre good" but like of course theyre big theyre not doing anything crazy, and while elitists and the type of people youre referring to with the paramore situation are annoying its not exactly elitist to get tired of hearing a basic 4 on the floor drum pattern with a generic riff and some dude singing about how big of a simp he is with some vocal fx to sound like hes from the 50s, its just really fucking boring lol
@_keigen_ rock doesn't have to be complicated to be good. That's some elitist attitude again. ACDC have literally done the same thing for 50 years and yet they are regarded as legends. Arctic Monkeys at least have experimented heavily with their recent albums, nothing compared to their early sound.
@@AILDDuckTeo i never said it had to be complicated to be good and if anything i think theres a lot of songs that are really good that are simple in structure/writing across many genres, but there is such thing as too simple and they are very much that for many people who want something interesting to listen to. to say that not wanting every song from a band or artist to sound the same while using a soundscape that is so unbelievably saturated and overdone is elitist just makes it seem like you dont know really know the definition of elitist. not sure how you went from not being a fan of the band to knowing that theyve gotten more experimental on their recent albums but if thats true and its actually good then thats great but still obviously a majority of their sound is their very safe same-y sound and thats why people either dont really like them or do like them, also using acdc as an example doesnt really work bc theyre also very much like arctic monkeys in the sense that theyre well known and have a big following but also have their schtick and their not-so-well-aged gimmicks that also drive an equal amount of people insane when they hear them. theyre also a band from a completely different time in music and back then their sound wasnt as common which is unlike the context of the music industry that arctic monkeys entered into so its also not really a great comparison in that regard either
i've heard that each member in queen has written a #1 song at least twice.
Much love to Linkin Park, their music gets me through life. I love them ^^
Same here
same
same. I'll never get tired of their unreleased songs after listening their discographies.
I agree.
Fun fact: Dutch people can vote at the end of the year for their favorite song. Bohemian rhapsody has hit the nr 1 in the top 2000 in the Netherlands each new year for 20 years long! It seems like Dutch people really commid to this song being the best of all time.
My favorite deathcore band Imagine Dragons
Linkin Park is easily the biggest metal/rock in 21 century so far. So GOATed
So frickin true
😂😂😂
Wat. 2 semi cringe but nostalgic albums, with very catchy songs. Everything else drifted from mediocre, to radio friendly slop, to outright garbage.
🧢
True
Loudwire: No pop/rock songs like 5SOS
Also Loudwire: High Hopes
Arguably one of the most annoying songs to have every been produced
I have a very disappointng memory with that song. A friend in high school asked me to play ,,high hopes" so obviously I put on Pink Floyd's song, she goes ,,what the heck is that?" and changes it to this atrocity
@@elephantgurl750 damn that sucks. Tbf it's rare to find people who are into pre 00s music these days. Everyone at my school was into rap or hip hop except 2 guys who were also into Queen. And then there's me listening to Hendrix, Pearl Jam and Radiohead
“Metallica looks weird with hair.” ~ Nick 2023. Respect for knowing all the classics tho!
my favourite thing in the world right now is watching the non-subs number go lower every time nik shows the stats at the beginning of every video
"Are they deathcore?" I died.
Why Isn't "Hey There Delilah" not in here? I mean that is an acoustic song leaning to pop but Plain White Ts is a rock / pop punk / power pop band especially if you listen to the older stuff
Whoaaa oh oh ohhhhh ,
“Slay queen” HE’S ASKING TO BE DRAWN AS A GIRLYPOP
One day, bullet for my valentine and rammestein will make it on a list like this. Both near half a billion on spotify alone.
Half a billion is half a billion away from a billion.
"last resort, let's just move along, alright thanks" made me lose my shit
Haha same… I was shocked he didn’t go off with the Cut My Life into Pizza meme again though
Beggin wasn't from Eurovision, Zitto E Buoni was
The Arctic Monkeys hate is ridiculous. They are genuinely a staple of modern(ish) British music and their early albums re-defined British rock.
AM being the only album that blew up in America is not an excuse for that metal elitist ignorance…
Nik, Please do how to Infant Annihilator in 30 seconds with Will Ramos. It would fire.
As a huge AM fan, niks reaction to AM beeing up there is my favorite thing to watch
Love how kings of Leon was just skipped completely 😂
lol, theres a name I havent heard/read in a lpn while.
I was just listening to them yesterday, and I will be again when this video is over!
I'm sad there's no Skillet or Three Days Grace :(
Kings of Leon’s sex on fire literally makes me envy people that didn’t live long enough to hear it
i really wanted We Are The Champions by Queen, What I've Done by Linkin' Park and Hold The Line by Toton on here, and of course Free Bird
Edit: Paranoid Android by Radiohead is also amazing but not many have heard it, as far as I know
Only one song for the beatles shocked me to be honest.
6:32 "is that mgk if he was swedish?"😭😭 italian honey
unironically do the how to Arctic monkeys (and if you do - do some research on their early stuff first)
2:58 *Drunk uncle Nik strikes back at a karaoke bar.*
8:30 its californication (like cali-sex) not californiacation
The list forgot Fleetwood Mac because Dreams has over 1 Billion
I know, right?! Where's the respect?!
Metal
Surprised not to see green day or blink 182 on there. They must be pretty close
I know Basket Case and All the Small Things are high up there
okay but early Arctic Monkeys is actually so fun. AM was a big shift and I haven’t been in love with the new stuff since then.
Alright Nick, I know what you can't metal!!
Loreena McKennit or The Coors.
Tbf, if Bon Jovi covered Jump, it would have 10B views.
It's too late for them to do it now, but that song would have made Luis Fonsi throw up his hands and be like "nah, we don't need more music."
Crazy what bands missed out on 1 billion streams. Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, U2, Pearl Jam, Scorpions, Pixies, Green Day, Van Halen and the list just goes on
You’re missing out on R.E.M !!!!
Centuries was on a TV advertisement and it got really popular
"that's 10 costco hotdogs" lmfaooooo
😂😂😂 “that’s like $10!” Idk why that was so funny
"The Police Department?" 🤣
Can u make a story of the year with style of architects?
Måneskin is amazing. They are like a drug.
Please change the drumkit
Dude, Maneskin beggin is banging. Didn't even know about it until this video but I checked it out and... yeah it got a funk alright!
The vocalist sounds lime he swallowed a cheese grater
@@c4gam1ng12 I think he's alright, but it's the riff and beat that gets me. From the start, too.
@@c4gam1ng12 so does axl rose
Exit eden did a cover of separate ways recently
Arctic Monkeys in 30 seca please
Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive... I'm sorry but the only thing this song is associated with for me is Deadliest Catch. And I hate the song for that reason. And I hate that I hate the song for that reason... beacuse it's a good song. But I hear it, and ALL I FUCKING THINK OF IS ALASKAN CRAB FISHING.
"Imagine dragon is not rock" Bro there's fucking Toto on this list
Can we get Santeria to a billion???
New project from the minds that brought you Imagine Dragons: Imagine Deathcore
Wait, so was Van Halen not on that list? Bruh.
Today I learned that Michael Stipes and Pewdie Pie might just be the same person... 🤣
That hurt a little but it was still hilarious.
Queen is the goat
People may hate me but I rather separate ways by a skylit drive haha
Hey is your giveaway international on the 15th ?
a strange mix of guitar hero, modern classics and meme songs (and old people i guess)
I cant believe "Here comes the Sun" is actually an over billion bro, theres a lot of clean and better songs from The Beatle and they choose that one. I mean, its not a bad song i kinda like it but theres... idk "Let it Be", "Yesterday"... sounds pretty better for me.
I'm genuinely surprised stairway to heaven wasn't on here. But I'm sure Robert Plant and everyone who's ever worked at Guitar World is happy about it.
some songs seem way bigger through the guitar world lense than they actually are. Just checked Smoke on the water also only has 500m streams
Reifier should be in that list
It's crazy how most of these i know little too well, songs that i've heard so many times i would never seek them out.
Yet, i could name only one Arctic Monkeys song and even that i don't remember how it goes... Where are all these songs played at???
Surprised that Jumping Jack Flash wasn't up there for The Rolling Stones. One of the best (sue me Nik) bass lines of a pop-rock track.
Imagine dragons are indie rock.
Went from rock to indie rock to indie.
Its just... Yeah sure, death cores close enough.
Deep Purple, Nazareth, Led Zepellin, Black Sabbath, Iron Maden, Van Halen is not a rock, they are Nintendocore)))
"Where is imagine dragons?"
Good question. They have 8 songs with over a billion
wth why do I only know Queen from all of these? 😭
Danny Tray-Joe?
1 billion streams on Spotify? You could make like $10! 😂😂😂😂
I seriously never heard of Arctic Monkeys or Maneskin before seeing this video. Damn I'm getting old.
Uhhh Arctic Monkeys is like 20 years old. Saw them in 2011. You must be super old if you never heard of Arctic Monkeys. They are that garden variety of 2000s British indie garage rock.
Now Maneskin is newer. they got popular like a year or two ago. German glam type rock but way poppy and funky. Not heavy at all.
@@doublewhat07 I'm 39. I don't watch TV, use any streaming services (not sure if YT counts)and the only social media I have is Facebook, which I spend about...maybe 10 minutes a day on? If that? I hardly have anything to do with the modern metal scene at all (other than Nic's channel)and primarily listen to Black Metal sprinkled in with weird experimental/electronic music like Boards of Canada, Tortoise, Autechre, etc. Yes, I live under a rock. No regrets lol
Lars looks like my Grandmother
Title should say rock songs, very few of these bands are metal.
Theres no way master of puppets isnt up there
I don't understand. Where are the Zeros?
6:10 Yeet! im glad Linkin Park was included in the list. 🤘🏻 definitely one of my favorite 2 songs to be recognizable.
im gunna be honest queen is probably the best rock band of all time. they wont ever be my favorite but they have to be the best.
WHERE IS BLACK SABBATH
Jon Bovi
I was expecting Given Up to be here but it's not there. Okay, it is what it is, I guess.
It was too heavy for normies and the people that didn’t listen past meteora
Where was coldplay
Back in black and highway are the obvious ones no? Thunderstruck is just the iron man song.. it's good but it was a late bloomer
funny thing , dose any one know a song from the , from the eagles except the hotel California,, and they keep copyrigth strike every one that post a video on youtube
Free bird is clearly Lynard Syknards best song.
Confirmed Imagine Dragons are deathcore
Just imagine the dragons.
С концовки в голосину проржал )))
Why do you actually hate Arctic Monkeys so much? :D
1 billion only equals 10 dollars. What?
Great stuff 🤣
Bro go react to the official live version of kingslayer with babymetal, in japan… it just dropped and its EPIC
Yay system of a down
I'm not exactly a Maneskin fan but man they're Italian not Swedish
1 bil streams is a 3 dolla bill y'all.
You can blame millennials that haven’t listened to anything pat 2006 for this
Arctic monkeys the songs that are most streamed are the worst ones aswell LMAO😂😂
2:04 who the hell are Arctic Monkeys? lol, must be a Z thing cuz I’ve never heard any of their music. Heard OF them, but when you get to your 40’s, you start not to care about bands you haven’t already known for at least a decade.
are they dethcore? hand me rollin!!! ahahahahaha
o
Freebird can't get to 1 billion because it's too long. One Freebird could fits five Ramones song.
not my favourite metal youtuber hating on my favourite band :(
If they’re not a core band you can just disregard anything Nik says, don’t worry.
