For no reason at all this video got "age-restricted" which makes it so it doesn't show up in peoples' suggested feed, or even my subscribers lol...
After hours of talking with support they FINALLY removed it but the video's reach is already destroyed. So if you like the vid please share, comment, like, all that bs
how
popped up in my recommended box, i think it was the 4th video in my recommended box
It was the Black Metal part of the video!😂🤣
Please tell me you have seen Jared Dines latest collab with Tallah... 🤌
This was the middle video right at the top of my suggested as soon as I opened UA-cam, hopefully it’s the same with everyone else
At this point it takes longer to read the genre than the lyrics
Lmao
He ain’t wrong tho
Lmao
Of course Nik can recognize Through the Fire and Flames tab by sight lmao
D:
So my first taste of actual rock was Hybrid Theory, and then a few years later I found SOAD through Toxicity. And now I can't stop myself jamming at Metallica. Holy crap was that so freaking accurate.
Legendary starter albums
Best one by far. So true, I’ve even go back to thinking I’ve told non metal listeners to go listen to those albums when they ask me why the music I listen to is my favorite and go to’s, rather then listen to pop or rap like most people. It’s just good for the soul
Yeah that one was scary acccurate
If you are european or German there would be Rammstein aswell
Literally same
“Everyone was twelve at one point.”
Tell that to all of the dead 0-11-year-olds.
You know you didn’t have to say this right
@@TheObserverDMZ he absolutely did
They are still twelve. Twelve feet under.
wtf
@@musicheaven7868 double deep coffin?
We all got into the "getting into metal" and "i'm 12 and i like death metal" starter packs at some point. And now i noticed i look like a modern metal guitarist most of the time lmao
GG
That "getting into metal" starterpack is so on point. It was the Meteora album for me instead of hybrid theory but everything else was spot on
LP is a big one
Yep same for me
that thrash metal one makes me reflect on my guitar choices *looks at guitars on wall and sees 4 pointy headtstocks
I really like those Jackson headstocks and the sharkfin inlays.
Danger
I'm 28 and that 12 year old death metal starter pack was my mood a couple of months ago...
As an everyday Black Metal enjoyer, that starter pack was accurate af!! And greetings from the darkness of Finland!😂
:D
@@NikNocturnal But that's the starter pack, because after 20 yrs off listening to BM you lose all that and just don't give af what you wear..😂
I don't know how it is in Canada, but in the US, there is an abandoned warehouse in every small town.
Noted for future videos
Post metal starter pack: reverb and delay pedals set to 10 on every knob, play a note and leave it hanging for 25 minutes through your Rockerverb or Marshall JCM800
FACTS
7:35 why this is so accurate
Black metal starter pack... Crucifix and a zippo
Oh my.
I feel personally attacked... lmfao
😂😂😂
GG
Hybrid Theory was my gateway drug. Now I remember when I thought Slipknot was super heavy.
Ah yes, Suicide Season. Great band. Right up there with System of a Doormat and Linkin Chafee
0:09 The most accurate one.
4:32 thats 100% the most accurate starter pack I have seen in my whole life so far especially the point about listening to progressively heavier music but I still can't get myself to really like listening to deathcore and the likes yet though Neverbloom (Make Them Suffer) and especially Flesh Coffin (Lorna Shöre) are really growing on me.
Also "eventually coming back to appreciate those classics" I already do that and I only began listening to metal(core mostly) since the beginning of this year 😂
edit: 7:13 Anthrax was one of the first bands that introduced me into Metal Lol. First Linkin Park of course then Red then Anthrax.
Getting into metal starter pack - Southeast Asia edition
-Heard "Dear God" at an internet cafe
From A7X to dying Fetus
The 12 year old pack slaps
Oh yeah 100%
6:11 well obviously cause there are lots of forests in Norway Sweden and Finland so therefore we have a lot of sticks to get inspiration from and the axes are for chopping down trees and sticks
The first i listened was Linkin Park, some years later i started listening some classic rock bands like RHCP, Foo Fighters, Guns N' Roses, etc.
But one day i listened to the Metallica's Black Album and that changed completely my taste, it was amazing.
The new metal listener starter pack was to accurate. That was exactly how I got into metal. Only difference was black went first because I grew up with classic rock so I was already hearing some metallica and then it went lp and soad
I stumbled across a band before, their genre was ethnic djent it didn't disappoint man... Metal is awesome
gotta love nik popovic
4:50 i am so glad to be alive for this evolution of heavy music :3
2:18 Nik did you just call a battle vest a "patch jacket"? Lmao
Found the elitist
It's a jacket that's filled with patches
ahahaha battle vest.. does each patch add another layer of armor and bad assery for larping or is it all for fake street points
@@jensmedgaffeln Knowing what it's called is elitism? Okay
@@alskarmode it's just a joke. :)
I'm 15 and started with slipknot and then Linkin Park,SOAD,Metallica,Korn.Eventuelly I got into heavier stuff like black metal and a bit of death metal like decapitated and metalcore I Prevail.Everything slaps!! Nu Metal and Black Metal,Thrash are my fav genres.
When I was new to metal the first band I heard and liked was Dimmu Borgir LOL and those bands like System of a Down, Slipknot and Metallica started liking me a lot later. if someone is new to metal, the truth is that those bands that I mentioned before are good for attracting ppl to this community
this made me laugh, so good job sir.
Getting into metal one was kinda right for me. The toxicity album was my first metal album, then Architects album Holy Hell was my second
that 2 frame Slaughter to prevail popup made me cackle. yes "heavy" truly gets stretched nowadays
Geting into Metal starter pack is so accurate hahaha. I remember wondering, if there possibly can be heavier band than one called Megadeth. Even though I knew their 2 songs gahahah
When I was in my teens the "getting into metal" one would be spot on other than I never came back around to SoaD. I love me some pre-St Anger Metallica and pre- Jay-Z Linkin Park. Absolute gems.
The schecter board meeting is one of my favorite memes lmao 🤣 it's so accurate
Legendary meme
i love how diverse Metal can be, it's fuckin' great.
Yes
4:35 VERY TRUE FOR PEOPLE IK LMAOOOO, its funny cause a friend of mine literally said this too
Used to jam in an old warehouse hahaha Totally accurate
1:25 that was "Xavleg" it's a very nice band :)
i remember when i first started listening to metal.
Nightmare (A7X) was the heaviest thing i knew.
Then slipknot was the heaviest for me.
Then Dig - Mudvayne was the heaviest.
It became progressively heavier over the years and now i listen to Slam/Death from time to time
Slaughter to Prevail really is Russian Slipknot that never got past Iowa
I started with Dream Theatre, then The Dillinger Escape Plan after that it was a long ride
Here to help the Algorithm and you Nik. Love the content you put out everyday my man, you deserve better, as do many youtubers getting claimed or age restricted
Thanks you!
Nikkk you gotta start reacting to find your flame especially breaking through it all. (That song goes so hardcore) Kellin Quinn did vocals for the new Sonic game and it sounds pretty sick...Metalcore in Sonic-
I have that Chapman Ghost fret at 5:26 lol My favorite guitar
5:12 I’m not a UA-camr but I do have that Chapman and I love Pantera so accurate
Fuck djent tho
I actually got into metal a little differently. I went from laying around playing Bully and listening to bands like Staind, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, etc., to starting a Myspace with burning crosses in the background and listening to Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. Jumped right to it. Didn't pass go, didn't collect $200. No transition. Loved it.
I started with those AND Linkin Park/SOAD. Then I went to Aggrotech/Industrial Black Metal and then Black Metal (alongside the gateway bands in the middle.)
What was that burp?! 🤣 🤣 🤣 it sounded like an alien creature's mating call lol
that last one... off by like 1 album on each band but yeah. i wont even lie , scary accurate
I think like Attila ,crown the empire, issue, chunk no captain ,a day to remember
0:22 Sabian from Alpha Wolf lol
Saw the thumbnail and thought of Sabian from Alpha wolf 😂 he got the drip though 🔥
driving me mad you aren't showing these started packs in their entirety, just the pieces you talk bout argh, going to look to go find them now for gigs
4:58 so true i listened to alot of djent for a while but now i prefer thrash like metallica and megadeth and other styles of that era :)
amazing video nik!!!!!! made my day!!! you made my day!!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@NikNocturnal uh no it was fine i commented so you may get gack in the algorithm:) keep shredding
0:30 calling me out lol
7:35
Officer , its him
the metalcore and deathcore I listen to have quite a bit of solos in it.
You know what video I would like to see "10 levels of shredding (feat. Cole Rolland)" that would be sick
the first metal band I've actually listened to is imperial circus dead decadence
My journey with metal started with the black album back in 2013
it was my first time hearing metal then i got into metalcore bvb ax7 asking alexandria and many more for a long period of time then I gradually started getting into more harder heavier bands because I got bored of metalcore I needed to check new genres and different sounds
man it took me soo many years and bands to reach slipknot and korn definitely my fav song of slipknot is psychosocial and my korn's fav is blind nowadays am finding myself leaning back again into hair metal and classic bands
Like skidrow guns and roses
iron maiden acdc motorhead dude that Era of metal was entertaining asf unlike nowadays u find few bands that are entertaining while being professional most bands now are focused on craft and music making they are forgetting how to make their stuff more fun to watch especially via music videos
Dude it's always some dark wearhouse or a forest
Anyway so far my journey with metal have been very enjoyable
And I connected with the message of soo many bands that I can proudly say that metal is the best form of music 🎶 🎸🥁🎙️
Brooo all your hoodies fye 🔥 but where's the damn beanies
Unholy throne and decapitated titan are sick names ngl
7:15 I love Anthrax 🥺
Modern metal guitarist starter pack is just perfectly describing Sabian Lynch from Alpha Wolf
Modern metalcore starter pack should be: Neural DSP, GGD, Noise gates, Bass sims, Drop [redacted] tuning
Metal Kid starter pack:
either owns a electric guitar or a bass guitar.
is in a band
"Its too loud can you be more quiet?"- mom
room full of posters
bought punk choker or arm leather with spikes from amazon
amp and pedal either from amazon or from a different official site
First one looks like Alpha Wolfs bassist haha 😄
Always gotta love Schecter
Don't forget where you started nick 😉
So accurate it hurts.
for the getting into metal starterpack, in my case it is very wrong. in one month i started listening to fear of the dark, the black album then i got rlly into a7x. but then i went from nightmare to Demolisher by slaughter to prevail
the gettin g into metal thing was hybrid theory but instead of SOAD it was disturbed... then metalica... heh
i like how theres starter packs then theres me i just got thrown into the deep end by some friends and now my playlist is close to 100hours long with every genere of metal i could find and its still growing.there is no starter pack,i am the starter pack 👁️👁️ (but still if the music slaps and has at least some level of screaming im in)
4:33 100% relate!
great video and great content!
Metal has metal balls
Must've missed the memo on all of these starter packs
its a very polite and educational video...
Djent starter pack: your drummer has to have a cymbal stack, and it HAS to be Meinl. Also, at least the lead singer has to have a Pidgeotto haircut. Don't forget the space structure music videos!
Why is this so accurate???
I was 18 when evolve came out but it sure did get me into deathcore
1:25 xavleg reference
Bruh. I remember like it was yesterday. I've been in toilet and do shitty stuff like you know and I heard from the neighbour room in TV "Burn it Down" by Linkin Park. Already loved Chester's voice and searched new stuff. I dragged through Three Days Grace, Shinedown, SOAD that was too heavy for me at this times. When I heard for the 1st time BYOP I was like: DUDE! THEY ARE CRAZY AF. Now I'm listening to stuff like Vulvodynia, Archspire, Lorna Shore and more. So conclusion is simple. Metal is like a drugs, the deeper you go with, you need heavier stuff. I mean "starting with metal starter pack" is 100% accurate
For thrash metal, it’s more like everyone forgot about Anthrax. I forgot they’re a part of the big four.
"Getting into metal" pack hits different
Uuu look up Dorje! GOOOD music
Listen to white dove
We need a metalcore starter pack
That first one really came for Sabian Lynch haha
Well crap, apparently I was 12 in my 20s when I got into heavier music... cause BMTH, Suicide Silence, and Chelsea Grin were it. lol
I first heard metal from jacksepticeye's chop suey cover and then heard the fear and loathing in las vegas' anime openings and thats when I popped off
Need a Nik specific starter pack 😏
I've never been 12 like that but still edgy enough. For me it was Dead by April, 36 Crazyfists, and some other bands I forgot about lol
@6:04...I still have it...🤣😂😅
haa back in early 2000s when it just happened by nature that was a nice time for youth :D
Latest Chapmans are really nice though😅.
Toxicity and Psychosocial got me into metal
Really feeling attacked right now as a believer that Evolve is the best thing Chelsea Grin has ever done. It's bad enough I was already alone
The late 90’s nü metal one just called out robb flynn
i feel like i can’t really relate to any of these- and idk if that’s a good or bad thing 😭
1:29 just gloryhammer lmao
