With Narset is out, if you replace your draws with dredge you can dredge as many as you want as long as you haven't draw a card at all. Since it's a replace effect she can't stop you from doing more than one dredge. But if you drew for turn then you can't dredge at all since she stops that.
Dredge is a replacement effect allowing you to still dredge through Narset no?
@michaelmaurath109 if you have drawn a card you can't dredge because she says no so you can't replace something that doesn't happen.
That round three start was crazy!
That’s the rule rather than the exception for dredge. Generally end the turn with no deck
The freaking balls of steel noah had keeping that first hand and going for that first turn’s actions.
Love the legacy content
First video of yours that Im watching and I got exactly what I hoped for! The play by play commentary helped me a lot, since Im an MTG noob
Glad to hear it!
Love the Legacy content, PWP! Keep up the great work!
9:44 Ichorid's power is 3. Noah gains 3 life instead of 2 from Swords to Plowshares
What
The life counter was set correctly
also, just before that, Cal is supposed to take 8 damage instead of 7. Putrid Imp has threshold and is a 2/2. 3+3+2=8
what really is frustrating is that if we remove L.E.D from the dredge deck the decks price becomes much more affordable but if wizards weren't such absolute cowards with the reserve list we could have this amazing format be much more accessible to most players
There have been good results with lists running Otherworldly Gaze instead of LED (and some other minor modifications). It leads to a less explosive deck, but one that is capable to grinding better.
@@milesburgin6436 i checked and the LEDless lists run 3 copies of underground sea...
That double extraction tho
Evey time i see ypu giys play legacy i get exited ☺️ thanks for your work
Fetchlands work different in legacy than in commander or modern. You fetch when you need something or when you want to shuffle, not end of turn.
@Alex Bergie Of course you _can_ - the comment is about when you should.
I can't figure out why Hogaak wasn't cast at 2:37. After playing the Cabal Therapy and getting 2 zombies, it should have been done before the end of the turn. Am I missing something?
Also, around 8:30, I believe it is generally better to play land, LED, cast Faithless Looting while holding priority, then crack LED. Then Faithless Looting can be flashed back as well. This can allow for 4 dredges on turn one instead of 2 dredges. It is much more explosive.
Glad this series is back
9:17 worth noting from this point onward, putrid imp was hitting for 2, not for 1, as it was assumed from the life total drops until the end of the game. Considering how many attacks it pushed in, the game could've been over one turn earlier, burying the control player faster. By the end of the game he would be at 1 life, and would not be able to crack that scalding tarn he had in play. Wasn't relevant because he had no outs, but could've been.
Dredge: puts LED on the stack
Me: countered...
UW: resolves
Me: wait... what?
Dredge: puts Faithless Looting on the stack
UW: Force of Will
Me: ...better late than never I suppose
Narrator: "with this complete blowout!"
Me: what is happening!? XD
The UW player didn't need the perfect information that we audience members had to conclude that LED was the spell to target with FoW. Always counter the first discard outlet you see against dredge, because the inevitability clock starts after the first dredger hits the yard. Furthermore, among discard outlets, LED is the highest prize. Big misplay by the control player.
Beautifully edited video
Enjoying these legacy video
Dredge? Let's go!
Winning despite that blowout... dredge is scary when you don't draw that graveyard hate.
I'd love to see someone play the 8-cast painter deck
Do you guys to plan to play any pauper or pioneer games?
Maaaaaybe….
That’s crazy!
Loving the legacy content.
Great video
Dredge has some troubles in current legacy, since many decks either can race it or are MDing Endurance.
Gotta pay the troll toll
Love this.
I love watching paper legacy gameplay. Keep up the great work. Would love to see the new sneak and show deck with atraxa, or possibly the new mono red stompy initiative deck. Also, I love a good lands deck, nothing better than a sweet 20/20 smashing face.
why does legacy dredge not use cheeping chill, seems like a really good card in general
At 4:17-4:38, wouldn’t putrid imp have dealt 2 dmg in combat since the discard ability technically resolved?
No, for a couple reasons. The discard ability isn't what pumps PImp, it's the threshold ability. Dredge deck didn't have threshold at the time.
Where can I buy Noah's playmat?
Is Noah list available?
In the description
6:58 - Noah wouldn't draw at all due to Narset. As they'd already taken their draw for that turn.
Hence the animation at that timestamp.
@@PlayingWithPowerMTG Assumed that was a 'Whoopsie, they played into Narset'. Usually your commentary points out mistakes like drawing the card that shouldn't have been.
