This is Great! I was kind of thrown into doing credentialing for for a private practices by my boss and been doing it now for a couple years still have a hard time sometimes but I am very successful in getting the contracts. I have gotten offers to do it on the side for some extra cash flow but now HHA are asking me for help and not to sure how to credential Home Health agencies since there is different types of services they provide. Do you have any insight with HHA?
It’s really about calling the payers and finding out what they need for HHAs. Most of it will be the same except the information when it comes to practice location and those specific questions. The contracts and requirements will be different than a clinic, but I’m sure if you have a stable understanding of the overall concepts and endpoints you’ll do fine. Being motivated and willing to do the work to learn as you go is half the battle. Sounds like you already know that and can do it. I’ve never worked with an HHA either. Good luck and thank you for watching!
Thank you so much for these great videos- I am new to credentialing and your videos are a great guide as to what I should be focusing on. I see in a comment below that you are working on a credentialing course- I would be very interested in participating in that course. What is the best way to participate?
You are very welcome! Thank you for watching them. The first section of the course is now released and you can find it here- navigatingthebusinessofmedicine.thinkific.com/ I am getting ready to start editing the 2nd section (Intermediate level) this week and hoping to release it within a week or so. The Advanced section will come after that. I have released them in intervals to allow people to take them at their leisure and decide if they want to take all 3 or just 1 or 2. Good luck!
This is very helpful. I am interested in becoming a Credentialing Specialist but have never been in the medical field. I have been a Quality Analyst where Attention to Detail is a huge must, can you guide me on how to get into this career path? Appreciate it!!
That is exciting for you and thank you for watching! I am actually actively working on releasing a credentialing Course to help people such as yourself. I would say the biggest thing to know are all of the insurances, insurance types, provider types, and nomenclature for contracting and credentialing because that will all play heavily into the processes for your clients. I will be announcing my release of the course within a few weeks. If you would like to be part of my email notification, please email me and let me know so I can add your email address Jennifer@icsolns.net.
I am completing a CAQH application and the physicians application is pending at the hospital. Do I note that on the application and add admitted Dr. Information?
Hi and thank you for watching. I don’t feel it is a good idea to add anything to CAQH that is not finalized. I would personally wait until the application is accepted and entire process completed before adding to CAQH
I do have a screen sharing video on PECOS, which is how you enroll providers for Medicare. I have not done a video on DEA enrollment but that is a good idea. Thank you!
Hi Jennifer, I am a small NP group trying my hardest to get going. I have a question am attempting to get the credentialing done myself. Do I need a CAQH for my group NPI or just for my personal NPI?
I took it already it was only a Customer Service Assessment test. Nothing to study for just different CS scenarios, Filing & Scheduling questions. Thanks for replying.
I am an Indian - Tamilnadu - Thanjavur - working in credentialing and contracting department
