@ debwith A couple of good hair products that work for you, a good round brush, velcro or electric curlers and I bet you can wear your hair a hundred different ways - and fast, too.
Straightish hair, quite a lot of it ( but just below chin length) , flat on top , two pronounced cowlicks at the front but have a big forehead so really prefer some sort of fringe........and my eyebrows are vanishing! What a vision

HAIR GOALS!!! 💯🥰 This is exactly the look I want to transition to - naturally wavy/curly mid length pixie cut with my natural dark and graying color. I’m at the beginning of my journey to fall in love with my natural hair. Thank you for all the specifics and demo! 💜
This video is so timely! I am considering cutting my wavy/curly hair short since I am transitioning to gray hair and want to cut off the dyed brown hair. I have had pixie cuts in the past so I am not afraid of short hair, however, my son's wedding is coming up this summer and I wasn't sure I wanted short, transitioning hair for the wedding. You helped me realize that transitioning hair can look fantastic as long as you take care of it.

You have lovely curly hair and really like your current style. I especially like the two tone color. My hair has started getting gray - more at the back and sides. Once it overtakes my brown hair, I'd like to have your color of hair. You look fabulous!
The jury is still out Joan lol! I have to give it some time, although I don't have much choice now, because the short style definitely needed regular hair cuts. All the best.
Your hair is gorgeous! I have a pixie cut and I love when it grows out just enough to show the natural curl. I'm going to try the products you shared. I can't wait to see how you style it when your hair reaches that Marilyn Monroe retro length!
Thank you for your upload and showing women how to "cope" with and take care of a cut that's growing out. Personally, having a great hairstylist is the key. So funny, I have a cowlick in exactly the same place as you! While you were twisting your hair after applying the mousse I kept looking at the back of your head and thinking, is she going to fix that?! I have wavy hair and have been contemplating growing out my Pixie; watching you style yours gives me a little more confidence. Thank you for this video.

Thanks for the inspiration! Pixie since I was 16 and each time I've tried to grow it out, I get to the 8 week mark and want to scream. I love your attitude.
Nice to see you! Thanks so much. It's important to have a good hairstylist that can cut your hair in a way that makes the most of the natural texture. My daughter's hair is very straight, and she goes to a Japanese salon in NYC - they give her a fantastic cut that works with her straight hair!
Oh man....you are telling my story exactly! I too have curly hair and we never had the products back when I was in my teens and 20's (70's & 80's). I fought with it constantly and straightened it for many years. About 10 years ago I decided to stop straightening it and feel free for the first time. :) I'm also growing out a very short haircut from last year, it's currently just below chin length. I started using DevaCurl products several years ago but they began to weigh my hair down over time. I now use a curly hair line from zotos called, All About Curls. I've been using this line for 5 months now and so far so good. It also gives me more volume. :) Curly hair has a mind of its own so if you fight it, your hair will win the battle every time! Lol.
I love hearing your story, thank you!! And thanks for the tip on the products you like - I cannot try everything out there, after all! I'll look into All about Curls.
@@kerrylou3 I hope you like them if you try them. My favorites of the line are the Bouncy Cream and Lo Lather Cleanser. The conditioner (in the bottle) can also be used as a leave-in if necessary. :)
Hi pretty lady! I used to have the same long curly hair growing up. Now in my 40s I have lost lots of hair so I cut it just like yours and I have a hard time time styling it. Thank you for the tips.
Gorgeous! Just got my 2nd Deva cut yesterday & am loving it so far. Its like yours, but longer. I could probably do the Marilyn thing with mine - good idea, Kerry! My grey - white really, is almost fully grown out...only about an inch of blond in sone places and i am loving it!
Glad you're enjoying your Deva cut! It's quite amazing how many looks you can do with this length hair actually! I't a bit awkward right now, (3 weeks after this video) but I'm hanging in there! xx
This is Paula. I love your hair! My journey is 4" out that is a beautiful silver with a mix with silver in the back almost identical to yours. I have it cut to a short shoulder length at present. Thinking about short. My hair is naturally wavy, not as curly as yours. I've had short hair only once when i grew my hair to donate. You make it look so easy. You are such a beautiful lady. I so enjoy your channel. Your are a true inspiration!
Just wanted to let you know that Deva Curl has lots of complaints about hair loss...some of the curly girls are stopping using it. Your hair will be so pretty and it is now too!
Thank you Trish, I'm looking into this issue! been using Deva products for 6 weeks, so far so good, but I will research this more. Thanks for your in-put!
Kerry-Lou this was a fun video for me as I grew out my tinted hair four years ago and it looks almost exactly like yours...including the cowlick in the back, plus I’m a curly hair gal as well. I’m now 71, committed to staying current and stylish, so I will try the products you mentioned and even though I was a hairdresser in my 20’s, I think it’s time for someone else to shape my hair now. Thank you for all the suggestions and product lines to experiment with. Take care.
I absolutely love your hair and style! Also in your other videos when it’s a bit longer. At another time I asked you what products you were using, please keep us curly locks informed. I know we all keep spending a lot of money on trying new products as you are doing
Love the hair. Mine is shoulder length and straight. For years I had a curly perm. Now I decided to let it be straight. I like it better. Love your videos 💕
I do think it's best to have your hair cut and styled according to it's natural texture. When mine was shorter, I was straightening it. Whenever I went to a humid environment, or it rained, it would frizz up :-( I love the whole Vidal Sassoon look for straight hair.
I'm so happy to have found you, and I can't WAIT to see your new longer hair. It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL at any stage. I'm pea green ... naturally curly, lucky you! :o) Annette
Is your hair thick on top? I have a male pattern baldness receding hairline and mine is so thin on top. I comb it forward but it feels like a combover.
Having very scanty hair getting and some bald patches, could I get my hair permed with big curls like yours. Please help me because I don’t want to look bald. Thank you!
New subscriber here. I have the same curly hair as you only my air is thick. I used to wear it in a short curly shag look just like the way you are wearing it in this video. I just finished growing it out all one length about 6 months ago, the straight shoulder length style does not do anything for me, I have an appointment on 8/25 /21 to get it cut back into a curly shag style like you have in this video. My face appears so much brighter with short hair, the longer hair seems to pull my face down and I am tired of the blow drying straightening process. I love your hair in this video, you are so pretty!!!
Do you think your hair has gotten thicker since transitioning?... most women say they find their hair does get thicker from not coloring... thank you in advance!💜✨💜✨
Hi Beautiful!!! LOVE this tutorial!!! You’re fabulous and this is such a great video! I’m anxious to see the end result!!! Thanks for the tips!!! Watch you soon again! We need you keep up the good work!!!😘🙋💕🥰👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻😉❣️👑
I like this length on you. But i think a curly BOB would look great on you. You are the first one who said who enjoys her journey with the growing out process. I had a shorter haircut what i didnt like. I grew it out for three months after i got a longer but new haircut. Then i had no layers. I got my layers back in my hair in november. But it got longer and it was on a length where i was happy with. Then i grew it out. It is my old length were it.was before i got it cut. It grew 5 inches in 8 months. then i got a frinch i liked it grew longer. I got it redone. But now i got a too short fringe. I am hiding it untill it grows a length were it hits my eyebrows again. Take at least 3 weeks
The products that are available now are amazing for dealing with my frizzy wavy hair! UA-cam videos have helped me learn how to blow dry. I can have straight hair for two days after I blow dry or I can go beachy and natural. I know a lot of older women cut their hair short to deal with the texture of our aging hair but thats not necessary anymore. I think I look more feminine with a chin length blunt cut. I also swim and have dry hair so I use a lot of hydrating products and protect my hair when blow drying. I use mostly Davines products. I get compliments on my hair almost every day! So after all these years of my hair being a daily struggle I now think of it as one of my biggest assets!
Thank you very much for sharing Pamela! It's so nice to hear from someone that loves their hair!! That's what I love about this community, the sharing of advice, tips, and referrals to products that work for us. Of course I can't try everything, so I appreciate the help! I'll check out Davines Products :-D
I've been waiting for this video! Thanks! My hair is silver, curly, and long. Considering a short cut soon (I plan to donate 6" to Wigs for Kids charity. I love your curls - I think mine would look similar. 💙
Kerry-Lou, I loved watching this video. I was so excited to finally try some hair products for my short hair. I went the next day and purchased all the DevaCurl products you used and this morning I tried it. It seems to work really well....then I saw several youtube videos that were discrediting the DevaCurl company and the horror stories from these people. I was really disappointed in what they said. I was wondering if you have heard anything. Would you mind doing some research and let me know what you think? I would like to continue using DevaCurl by now I am hesitant. Please help.
Hi Lovey Lovey, I've been using Deva for about 6 weeks, and have had good results. I've just started to hear the same about Devacurl. I will look into it further. You would think it would be easy to analyze the products to see it there are any bad ingredients in there. Devacurl are making millions on these products, so if there was anything bad in them, you would think it would be in their interest to correct the issue. I use the low-poo shampoo, so it does lather. Some people are saying that people don't rinse out the lather free shampoos thoroughly and it clogs the scalp. I'll keep in touch and let you know what I know.
@@kerrylou3 Thank you for getting back to me. I really like the products so far. I thought the same thing about what you said that you would think Devacurl would correct any issues. I look forward to hearing from you about anything you find out. By the way, I have watched this video many times so I could use the products just as you did. I so enjoy watching your calmness and ease and have also watched all your other videos and have enjoyed them all. I hope you will do more. It is such a pleasure.
@@loveylovey4200 I have been researching this like crazy - I put a link to a UA-cam video in my product description, where two experts discuss this - you might want to check it out., they have a good take on the issue I think.
You can wear any style a salon owner for 44 yrs in my opinion. Just needs to be worn more off the face mostly any style. Your adorable . Change is fun🌷
I have your hair texture and curl/waves but mine is almost shoulder length when wet. Have you watched/read anything about the Curly Girl method? As your hair gets longer, you may want to try applying your styling products in the shower on really wet hair. As it gets longer, apply with your head down. Then scrunch excess out with microfiber towel instead of keeping your hair wrapped in the microfiber towel. Then don’t touch it as it dries. Love your channel!
Thanks Kathy, It's been fun learning about all the methods people use, thanks for this valuable information! I would love to see your hair - follow me on Instagram if you're on it, and I'll follow you back ;-D
Well I love ur hair. But, ur so beautiful I think u would look good in any hairstyle. I have very thin, damaged, not curly but wavy, and thinning at the top hair!😬 No help for me, I'm afraid!🙄🙄
Hi Pam, a couple of friends of mine have the same problem - the thinning on top of the head. They have had "toppers" made for them, they work very well!
Question: I’m new here, so bare with me. Just saw this video with a quick snapshot of your “old” brown hair. It was stunning! Why are you wanting grey? Also...FYI, I just saw a couple videos on Deva Curl products (of which I own a TON as well). They apparently cause damage to hair now. Even fallout. So you might want to check that out. (I’m sorry 😐). Love you’re curly hair! Aveda might have something you’d prefer , I don’t know. This Deva Curl has been such fun for me...but at my age I don’t want to lose more hair.
Hi thanks for watching the video - That old photo of me with dark hair was taken 44 years ago, so the color was natural of course. If I dyed my hair now, the silver would show at the root after 3 days - I do not want that up-keep. Also, I feel this natural color is softer on my face now that I'm 62. Regarding Deva products, thanks for the feed-back, I just posted something on that on my video description. So many people love it, I've had good experience with them, but now we're hearing about the bad experiences of some women - not worth the risk perhaps?
Kerry-Lou when I’m dying my hair, I use Joan Rivers root touch up. It’s easy peasy. Also, I don’t wash my hair daily (like I HAD to do when I was younger...🤗). That said...it’s ALL good. When I dye it people say I look younger. But I’m a rebel so I go back & forth...
You are so beautiful. I am 70 and went from my shoulder length hair to a pixie in July of this year. Guess it is not a true pixie, but it is much shorter than I am use to. I don't dislike it shorter but know I want it to grow back out. If I looked as pretty as you with it short, I would keep it that way. I am having some difficulty with it growing out. Lots of weird curls and patterns. I do go to my stylist regularly so that should help. Thank you for the tip on the last product. I am going to give it a try. I have more products in my cupboard now then when my hair was long 😂
I grew my grey out, then kept going until it was at my bra strap. But...short would be so great again. I keep looking at yours and am totally envious! Maybe next visit to the salon. Thanks for your channel!
Dear Kerry Lou, OMG I've just come across your growing out your hair video. My hair is similar to yours and I'm at the same stage as you. I love your message about not taking it all too seriously. I have been taking it very seriously and driving myself crazy. Thank you for the message about enjoying the journey and relaxing while I go through this process. My reason for growing out my hair is the same as you too!!! Oh wow, finding you at this moment is crazy and I'm so grateful to you for your guidance. Love Debra 🐝🦋
I'm very glad this was helpful to you Edith! Not sure if you saw, but I just put up another video on "How to tie a glam hair Bandeau" It may be helpful on the days your hair is driving you crazy! All the best x
Did you know a pixie style would suit you before you cut it? Thinking of going short to hasten my grey growing out process but not sure how short to go. 😊
Hi Carol, my short hair was a gradual process, but I did often wear my hair slicked off of my face when it was longer, so I didn't rely on hair around my face all the time. Perhaps you could experiment with wearing it off of your face to see how it looks? Personally I prefer this quick route to embracing the grey or silver. Good luck on your silver journey!
Hi Laura, if you take a look at the video description, you will see my thoughts on that. But the take away is if in doubt, don't use it, there are so many good products to choose from.
I’m gray and I’ve had my hair cut short like Jamie Lee Curtis maybe shorter 1 inch long for years now. With the Covid 19 I have not been able to get a haircut. So this past week I got in and got a perm just for a change and today I curled it. It looks fine if it was the eighties and fixing it that way makes me look older. So glad I’ve seen how you fix your hair, I’ll try it tomorrow.
It might relax a bit also. Now that your a curly girl, do a search on the CGM (Curly Girl Method) for more tips on how to style curly hair. I'll probably do another one now that my hair is longer. Good luck! x
I found your picture on the internet and finally found your video. I've always battled my curly hair and now I'm enjoying wearing it curly. Thanks a million for sharing this.
Sa prethodnom frizurom si izgledala mladoliko, kao Proseda četrdesetogodišnjakinja. Ne žuri da ti poraste kosa. Ostavi da polako raste da se pratioci naviknu. Možda će te duža kosa učiniti starijom. Tvoju kratku kosu imitiraju moje drugarice koje imaju kratku kosu. Imaš stila i nadam se da ih nećeš razočarati... Prijatan dan ti želim...

Now is growing to my naturally curly hair, I was looking for Some help and guidance on how to style! Thank you for your videos! Your voice is so calm and enjoying listening and watching! Thank you!
Thanks for your nice comment - It can take a while to get used to curls, especially when they are relatively new to you! Everyones curls are different, and so your routine and products will differ from everyone else. but be patient, keep track of the products you use, and what works best for you, and I'm sure you will love your curl journey! All the best to you x
You look so good with your curl. My hair type and wave/curl pattern is almost identical to yours, but I really don't care for the way it looks if I let it dry naturally! I always blow out the front, as I like to wear longer bangs, but I pretty much let the back air dry with the curl/wave. Haven't tried the Diva products, but love the Bumble & Bumble wax.
It is so much easier with wavy or curly hair; mine is flat as can be and shows every single little strand. Your hair is gorgeous!
Thank you so much. My daughter has straight hair, yes, it's a whole different styling/cutting philosophy needed. She goes to a Japanese salon in NYC, they do an amazing job! Vidal Sassoon is wonderful with straight hair also.

You look cute with your hair short and silver.
Hi pretty lady! I used to have the same long curly hair growing up. Now in my 40s I have lost lots of hair so I cut it just like yours and I have a hard time time styling it. Thank you for the tips.
She is so classy and simply beautiful.
Thanks so much!
I'm growing out my pixie! Hate this stage... it will get there,I have patience
I't a bit awkward right now, (3 weeks after this video) but I'm hanging in there! xx
Absolutely beautiful 💖
I heard you mention a salon in NJ
Can you please give me information on the salon
I’m in NNJ
Another great styling creme is Manipulator by TIGI. It is amazing and I have been using it for years instead of spray.
Love, Love, Love it. From a Curly headed girl.
You're such a beauty; you'll look wonderful with any length hair
Can't wait to see your journey
😂😂😂 "no offence to anyone who has a mullet"
Thanks so much for watching, and for your nice compliment! x
Longer gray hair is beautiful with all the variations.
You are a beautiful woman with great style so this journey will be fun for your audience here.
Thank you for watching, and for your sweet compliment!
Lovely style I’ve cut hair short now and quite happy for now, careful with the back though, I don’t know if you sorted the gap, I’m sure you did 😊👍🏼
Thanks Marie! My husband usually keeps an eye on that pesky gap for me, he's a photographer so he has a good eye. All the best x
Take care.
Could you possibly do a video of how Mark cuts your hair?
Great idea thanks so much!
I absolutely love your hair and style! Also in your other videos when it’s a bit longer. At another time I asked you what products you were using, please keep us curly locks informed. I know we all keep spending a lot of money on trying new products as you are doing
Hi Phylis, Thank you! I have a video coming out soon on how I style my hair!
Kerry-Lou thought this was that video
Love the hair. Mine is shoulder length and straight. For years I had a curly perm. Now I decided to let it be straight. I like it better. Love your videos 💕
I do think it's best to have your hair cut and styled according to it's natural texture. When mine was shorter, I was straightening it. Whenever I went to a humid environment, or it rained, it would frizz up :-( I love the whole Vidal Sassoon look for straight hair.
I thought it looked beautiful when it was really short. You have to feel good with whatever tho
I'm so happy to have found you, and I can't WAIT to see your new longer hair. It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL at any stage. I'm pea green ... naturally curly, lucky you! :o) Annette
Thank you Annette! ;-D
My hair is currently this length after losing it all to Chemotherapy approximately 6 months ago. Thank you for doing this video.💛💜
I'm getting impatient
Okay, pass on my earlier request. I found just what I requested in this video. Thank you for sharing.
Hope you like it!
I searched for this..decided to grow out my super short pixie cut...again.
I have wavy, not curly hair. Thanks for the tips
So glad you liked it! Thanks for watching :-D
You are a stunningly beautiful lady, and I love the colour of your hair. Great tips. Thankyou
I have the same curl texture you have and am contemplating going back to a pixie.... have a shoulder length bob at the moment. Sooo hard to grow out!
Most of us tend to go back and forth ;-( We'll see were this leads...stay tuned x
I've been waiting for this video! Thanks! My hair is silver, curly, and long. Considering a short cut soon (I plan to donate 6" to Wigs for Kids charity. I love your curls - I think mine would look similar. 💙
So glad you liked it Lori! So nice that you're donating, good for you xox
I have your exact hair. My fear is to cut it that short. Because growing out wavy & curly isn't pretty.
Please tell us what blouse you were wearing in the opening of this video. Beautiful colors but subtle.
Is this your natural color? I would like to have my hair a little brighter..
Beautiful hair I wish I had curly hair.My life hair styles would be so much better.
Kerry-Lou try NYC Curls products xoxogena
@@kerrylou3 Thanks for letting me know. I will have a look at it.
You can wear any style a salon owner for 44 yrs in my opinion. Just needs to be worn more off the face mostly any style. Your adorable . Change is fun🌷
My husband definitely agrees with you, he’s always telling me to wear my hair off my face!! 😀
Hermosa, beautifull hair, color, all👏👏🇲🇽
Well I love ur hair.
I for one like your short hair. You do keep your curly hair nice, though
Ładna pani jest i elegancka .😙👍🌷🌷🌷🌹🌹🌹
I love your pixie .
Wished I had curly hair my hair is straight as an arrow, I went gray 2 years ago and have looked back
Thanks, you can do a lot with straight hair also! x
@@kerrylou3
I did see your video about tying the bandeau and yes I'm sure I'll be reaching for that. Thank you so much. 😀😀❤️🦋🐝
Great hair Kerry Lou as always, I love your hair. And wish I was, as fortunate as you. To have such beautiful curly hair. Thanks for the video.
You are so beautiful but this wet curl look is so dated!!!!!
Kerry-Lou you are a gorgeous woman, no matter if you were bald!
Divacurl was sued! For hair lost. Dont use it
Did you know a pixie style would suit you before you cut it? Thinking of going short to hasten my grey growing out process but not sure how short to go. 😊
Hi Carol, my short hair was a gradual process, but I did often wear my hair slicked off of my face when it was longer, so I didn't rely on hair around my face all the time. Perhaps you could experiment with wearing it off of your face to see how it looks? Personally I prefer this quick route to embracing the grey or silver. Good luck on your silver journey!
Finally I found a styling video for short naturally curled hair 🤗
Yay! Thank you!
A very beautiful woman I love your hair
My favorite of your videos as this is exactly where I am! And in gray transition too!
Thank you, good luck with your silver transition!
Is not the hair product that recently had many lawsuits filed against it? Scalp damage.
Hi Laura, if you take a look at the video description, you will see my thoughts on that. But the take away is if in doubt, don't use it, there are so many good products to choose from.
My hair is gray and I leave it long for the winter and summer I cut it short. I had it cut just like yours. Now I'm looking for a new style
I hop you find a style you love!
Encantó tu trabajo felicitaciones
Good luck! x
Thank you! I did fix it today the way you do yours and it does look a lot better than using a curling iron also less damage. So glad I found you!
Thank you for taking us along on this adventure. I love your videos and your calm manner, your tone and quality 💚
Thanks so much for watching Jeannine, glad you liked it!
I found your picture on the internet and finally found your video. I've always battled my curly hair and now I'm enjoying wearing it curly. Thanks a million for sharing this.
Porque não bota legenda?, aff
Your hair and style is beautiful now. Am interested in seeing what ideas you decide to try.
For the longest time I hoped you would let your hair be fuller. Looks nice now. Enjoy the transition.
Tvoju kratku kosu imitiraju moje drugarice koje imaju kratku kosu. Imaš stila i nadam se da ih nećeš razočarati... Prijatan dan ti želim...
Hi Kerry tuu gazab hai.(Hindi)
Such a cute cut and love the curl. Sending Hugs, prayers, love, a smile and kindness…🌹🌹🌹
Thank you so much, much appreciated!
Your hair looks amazing I have naturally curl hair too and it’s going grey I so hope it’s like yours . Your beautiful indeed
Thank you so much for sharing, you have beautiful hair 😊
Thank you so much 🤗
I have just come across your videos! I have been having trouble styling my growing hair following Breast Cancer. Now is growing to my naturally curly hair, I was looking for
Some help and guidance on how to style!
How long does it take you? 🤗
