Holy shit they’re so tight! I like that Thomas is spending more time playing the right notes instead of going crae on stage. That was the cleanest Mastodon since 2005.

Andrew is one of the best drummers from that era, it's a shame he didn't play on more stuff since TFOT isn't super active
@@FlyingPirahna1 I listened to a podcast where Thomas said he wouldn’t tour the TFOT without Andrew because their relationship is so integral to what makes them TFOT.
It’s crazy how all three of the original members are so integral to their sound, I’ll always miss Tim but they sound really sharp here.

Wow, these handheld recordings of shows have really come a long way in the last decade or two. Nice job! Now it just needs a bit more mid range for the bass and we're there.
Love how they're playing all the songs like 10bpm faster than on the records (already fast). Shame to see no songs from OK, underrated album.

TFOT has been one of my favorite bands since Doppel came out. I've seen them quite a few times, and while I always enjoyed the shows, there were times where I wished the play was a little cleaner. It's been a long time since I've really been into the concert scene, but this video is going to force me to catch them again. They sound incredible here, so impressed all these years later!
I felt the same way.. there was tours where thomas wasn't in top form technically.. But I can say for sure after seeing them two nights ago.. they are as tight as ever! I think Thom moving to San Diego really helped him.

Don’t hate- my friends; but let’s be honest, Erak, TFOT, they dropped for awhile and had to work for their comeback, - BUT, you have to give it these dudes. They never give up. They love music and their craft… and FANS! 😂 they are persistent and never give up. That’s awesome and epic. They deserve god’s best, especially in this career they have to make so many people happy!

Last time TFOT had a backup guitarist was when they were The Tribune all the way back in 2001-2 w/ Munro.
Munro left to focus on schoolwork (highschool). Since then Erak has done ALL guitar work on every album from S/T to Mukiltearth (2020) which features Munro's old guitar work, still played by Erak.
This band has been a Three Piece for 20+ years. They've been kicking ass since Munro left and They'll continue kicking ass w/o a rythm guitar.

I hear it too. Everything sounds solid here except for the vocals. I get the recording quality but it seems like all the vocals dropped down. People being older is maybe an excuse. But look at David Akerfeldt from Opeth. They started at least a decade before Fall of Troy and Opeth could record a new live album every time they play a show, vocals especially included. Of course maybe Akerfeldt is just an alien.
