*Here is some background info on how this came together:
Originally TFOT were going to play the Audiotree showcase but not all of the members of the band could make the show because of prior commitments. CHON was the band that came to mind that would be open minded enough and talented enough to play with Thomas as TFOT.
CHON and Thomas met for the first time the day of the show. The FIRST time the ever played together was that night on stage. No practice! No rehearsal!. Thats ballsy as fuck. Everyone involved had a ton of fun and even though it was shut down halfway through their set we are just glad that it happened. #RIPCHONTROY
Audiotreetv I mean...were they PLANNING on playing more songs? If so...what was the full setlist? Im super curious.

PersistentResistance There's a comment in here somewhere that they were going to play the h[]ly tapes, another just like vinyl song, and then close with FCPREMIX. Its a shame, because I was looking forward to hearing that
Joe Warren @20:45 the guy announcing the shut down clearly states that the show "has been shut down by the City." This is probably due to a noise complaint of some sort, I'm not entirely sure, but it happens quite a bit.

Their chemistry here was something nice. 3:30 when Thomas listens and lets Mario have the main rhythm part then does some improvised lead at 3:45 and Mario is just watching like, "Yeah."
I get chills throughout the whole video. It's so damn cool to see a young band play songs with a band that they all clearly look up to. All the hard hours Chon put in learning those FoT songs paid off on this night. So fucking awesome.

They literally Just play the songs without reherseal. Chon guys know the songs 'cause they have been inspired by TFoT. But I agree with you, they are cool together, and I love it.

It's amazing how well the 5 of them work together. Admittedly when I saw Chon live opening for Animals As Leaders, the first thing I thought was "They must listen to a lot of Thomas's stuff." This must have been a dream come true for them. Awesome. :)

I don't think I ever truly appreciated how insane this was because I wasn't really in the scene yet when this happened, but here in 2024, going through old Chon material, this collab was actually nuts
Im not even joking when I say this: I've had the Fall of Troy in every playlist since their first album debut to their latest and even today.
Lately my friends have finally took my taste for music and fell in love with TFOT (We're 27/28 years old)
Secondly: I found Chon on youtube when they released their 3rd or 4th jam and have been dedicated to them since.
When I stumbled upon this I was on my feet in my room with a tear in my eye, seeing how happy Thomas was.
Honestly Thomas, and Chon. You all made my biggest dream that I didnt ever expect to happen come to fruition and I couldn't ever be happier. thank you sooooo fucking much.
Keep rocking, as long as sound exists, you will all be mapping my eardrums.

The first song I ever heard from them was F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X (Of course from Guitar Hero 3, the game that influenced me till this day.) I JUST RECENTLY listened to the entire Doppelganger album, and I swear, it sounds like it was made in this decade, yet the album came out in 2005. I had a fucking revelation. This band was what I was missing in my life (25 years old).

Talked to Drew after the show was cancelled that they still had 3 songs left to play; The holly tape, another just like vinyl song, and both Erik and mario would play guitars for FCP.
Man I wish I could have seen them play the other doppelganger songs, I've never heard Symphony or Mouths sound so great live.
I was sooooo pissed when that happened. Literally, the one act I was interested in that day and it got shut down :(

This must've been such a great amazing moment for thomas because some random dudes agreed to fill his band in for tour and fucking nail those songs. You can see the happiness in thomas's facial expressions and its hella cool dude

This is still absolutely mind blowing. So many bands can't play nearly this in sync after thousands of hours of practice. It's beyond crazy that this is the first time playing together. CHON must have rehearsed those songs a million times without ever thinking they might become part of the fall of troy some day.
This video is my life dude! I was really into TFoT and then they broke up and so I was trying to get into JLV. About 4 years ago in the comments section of a JLV video someone was talking about CHON and they became one of my favorite bands and top influences musically. This is just gold!
When he said "are we gunna attempt this?" I thought they were gunna play FCPREMIX and then they drop Heart Shaped Box!!! I couldn't imagine any other band doing this song right except TFOT.

I've been watching this event at least once a week. I wish I lived in Texas so I could of gone... I'm really stoked to see Chon September. I'm happy and sad the showcase got shut down. I really wanted to see them play F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X.!!! I just want to see it live rather than on the video... I KNOW... that was coming up soon.

Love that fuzzy bass and overall distortion. It's just enough to really make everything sound killer, even clean stuff... I'm finding that out with my gear as well... this band is freaking top notch killer... even filling in. :-)

this is so ill, the bass adds so much color to this, the tone is amazing, Thom isn't the best at playing and singing (which is okay because these songs are pretty hard to do both at the same time) so he can stop playing and still sound good, the drummer is killing it, and the guitarist from Chon is clean as fuck. I love this bruh.
