We’re traveling an Amazing Quest today people! Bolivia is the heart of the South American continent, a land of volcanoes and tropical jungles, where the sounds, the aromas and the colors are so rich and vibrant, it blows your mind. The people, descended from the Ancient Incas, are welcoming, and truly heartfelt friendly. The land with its rugged, dusty hues, bright blue lakes, in the midst of the Andes mountains - breathtaking. Erwann Guégan lives there, a Frenchman who's been in Bolivia for 2 years. in this Somewhere On Earth episode, Erwann has some stories to tell about Bolivia and the Bolivians.
Welcome to Latin America and I hope you visit my country Bolivia 🇧🇴🇧🇴. It is considered among the countries with the most biodiversity and has a lot of culture and beautiful places to visit. Among them is the immense and fantastic Salar de Uyuni
Bolivia in the 1960 was my home. It's so beautiful there. But it was also a bit of a war zone. As a child I witnessed the military massacre 1000 tin miners among other things. But I got to see a multitude of cultures there as a child as well. The country was 98% indigenous at the time. No tv. No fixed up roads for the trucks on tv now. It breaks my heart the damage that big gold mining does. Mi corazón se quedo en Bolivia.
Yes it was still very poor in 2000, when I lived there. They had a water stand off with corps that year, was a bit dangerous. But a very natural place, the mountains are phenomenal. It was a great experience for me, I think every person should live in a country very different from their own, at least once in their life.
What a wonderful documentary. What a beautiful country. I loved getting to "meet" the people of Bolivia, even if it was a one sided meeting. The people of Bolivia seem like lovely genuinely kind people.
Excellent documentary. My mother is Bolivian. She was born there in ‘72 and immigrated to the US in the 80’s. I was born American in 1995. To know the poverty she has come from & the privilege that is my life…it’s remarkable. I thank Bolivia for my roots & I thank the US for my future
Love this documentary. I got to learn so much about Bolivia inculding things that never croossed my mind. Good job filming this one. People, always be proud of where you come from. The place is so calming and peaceful.
Yesterday i thought north America is the best in American continent, today i realize south America is better, with the landscape, their song, their culture. They all family in one continent - South America. Right now bear in my mind only to go Bolivia... I started to love studying about Bolivia after i play gr Wildlands
Thank you for making this documentary. I love to see those fascinating beauty of the country and its nature. And nice to know how this 2 brothers spend time together and working together to help those people who are in need of help.
Bolivia's rich tapestry of landscapes, cultures, and people comes to life in this documentary. It's a heartfelt journey through the heart of South America, where individuals like Erwann, Gabriela, Miguel, and Diego are making a difference and pursuing their passions. Thank you for sharing the beauty of Bolivia.
I am a Cameroonian living in Cape Town, South Africa which is often sunny. The shot at 4:00 gave me nostalgic memories of growing up in Northwestern Cameroon because the terrain looks exactly like Cameroon : rolling green hills, banana trees and thick forests with dark clouds in the background and a glow of sunshine in the foreground. I just love it!
Very beautiful and inspiring! It was my first time ever seeing Bolivia on TV, I haven’t had the honour to go yet, and I didn’t realize how unusual the geography of the place is! It’s rather intimidating in a way, but so beautiful! Hopefully I’ll go there someday… Thank you very much for this!!!!! Greetings from Ireland! 😊
Another weekend, another opportunity to learn something new, see striking places, know about impressively beautiful people and mother nature masterly work.. All thanks to your hard-excellent work, and full of efforts documentaries.. Thanks!! 👌
You should have experienced those roads in the 60s. The roads on these shows now are a piece of cake. I bounced along living there as a kid and mostly kept my lunch down. White knuckles all the way. Never missed a chance.
@@savernightwolf4113 Our supposed leaders are our oligarchs. It's so sad they don't really work for regular people who can only dream of a government that helps us. We're going down the tubes. I don't care which party. They love the status quo. It's sad to watch. I don't have any real hope. I'd love to see electoral system gone and every vote count. Quit gerrymandering. Those in Congress that only obstruct and seek tv sound bites...ought to be a way to demote them to municipal waste services.
I lived in Vallegrande for 15 months in 2000-01. It was great, perfect temperatures, except maybe June and July it was a bit cold. Went on the road of death by bicycle, wouldn’t do it again but I survived. There was a airport there also, for a small village it was unusual, Che Guevara was buried under the airport until about a year befor I went. Then I think they took him back to Cuba. The rules are out the window in Boliva! It was slightly dangerous but a good adventure.
Thank you for this beautiful video breathtaking views and very nice and friendly interesting people, wow even though I probably will never get to visit there ,I have through this video. My ancestors are from Colombia ,a neighboring country. So this video was very touching ❤️
For people living on the edge, il"s amazing to see how tightly nit their social bonds are and how precariously critical their survival is dependent upon each other"s willingness to lend a helping hand when the need arises .
Erwann Guégan has produced a beautiful documentary of Bolivia. The topography of Bolivia is made evident. The peoples of Bolivia are made known. A Frenchman making commentary in English about a Spanish speaking country. He clearly has many strings in his bow! When I left school at 18 in 1976, I deferred entry to University by one year to think about my undergraduate choice of study. My original intention was to travel from Rio de Janeiro to New York with pack on my back. It never happened, and I still have not visited South America. I ended up flying to Perth Western Australia, and from there, I travelled thousands of miles ending up in India.
That is the old road to the town of Coroico. There is a new paved road in The beginning and faster. They left this road for some small towns and for tourism. Its still a very eery road. I remember we use to still go tru it in 1997 until they opened the new road But to go to South Yungas to Chulumani, the road remains the same, but not so scary as this one. My family brought land in South Yungas. It was quite a adventure on that land. We even discovered a ancient stone inca road tru it! Yes its true, when Foreigners go to Bolivia they fall in love and stay. We knew a French man who stayed in South Yungas and never left, he even said he hopes to find a nice sweet Cholita to marry. He was very a funny guy. Yes please go to Bolivia and help preserve its beauty! You can pick the cold or hot weather in one country.
Francis for kenya... love deadliest road each tym it is a different experience when watching how deferent people in the world ar risking there lives in order to survive... I think u should probably do a doc on miraa drivers from Kenya to Somali those guys risk vry much
