Very interesting. I looked up Anandamayi ma: "joys and sorrows are time born and cannot last". She also says God (or whatever you want to call him) reaches out to each of us in different ways, different manifestations.
There is not a whole lot of information on her. And her teachings are cryptic as they have been translated from the original Bengali language. It sounds very Buddhist at first, but she claims all gods are a manifestation of one supreme diety. Her belief is to surrender to this God. And to realize that every human, every living thing, and every object is a part of God. By honoring them, you honor yourself and you honor God. jivamuktiyoga.com/fotm/dialogue-shri-anandamayee-ma/
Douglas, when you have time can you tell me a little bit about lamictal? I have anxiety and depression, but the depression is acting up lately. Based on my symptoms including more easily irritated and this round of depression feeling different than my others, my psychiatrist wants to try lamictal in conjunction with my Zoloft. What should I expect? Thank you.
Lamictal is a very good medication. Your psychiatrist is probably giving it to you because he thinks that your irritability may be an aspect of bipolar disorder. The medication is easily tolerated, and I am on it myself.
I would talk to your doctor. I don’t have much experience in this area, because antidepressants have not really worked for me. But they have for many people.
These recovery stories inspire me to keep trying!
What a sweet woman, I wish her all the best
