- We travelled to Prince Edward Island, Canada for a summer kite trip. While we had heard PEI was a good kiteboarding destination, we had no idea just how good it would be! This video shares some of the kite spots on the island, what to expect for conditions, as well as a couple of great sessions with the local crew. Enjoy!

Epic locations and shots guys - the NC of the Maritimes!
Seems great out there! Adding it to the list. Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves.
We love vacationing in PEI. Beautiful countryside, great people and great place to learn. I took a lesson there with one of the local schools.
PEI is now on my bucket list. Thanks great video!
Looks fantastic!
Heading there in July... will definitely throw a few kites in the car! Thanks for the excellent and informative video!
Looks like fun😊
Thank you for this amazing video. I love PEI and the Magdalena Islands and I have been there more than 3 times in PEI and it is going to be my 6 time the Magdalena. I will be there for kiteboarding in the coming days!
I miss your videos! Thanks for your passion and good job!
Thank you :)
Okay but this was pretty cool to stumble across as a PEI local. Now I want to learn how to kite board haha
You are in the perfect place for it 😊
Pff what a spot! Beautiful.
Thanks for sharing. On my list for sure...Looks like NC of the Maritimes is a good call!
I just saw the title and didn't realize it was you... (small thumbnail on my phone) and was thinking PEI?? Oh! Canada! Looks like your dog had fun too! Glad someone clarified 22C - not bad. If I were in that part of the world, I'd definitely check it out. Looks like a great spot 🙂
This video is amazing! I am sure that it will help bring more kiteboarding to the Maritime and Atlantic provinces :)
Cool a great video. Looks like you had loads of fun 🤟😎👍
Thanks! It was a great trip :)
Great vid! Super clean shots :)
Thanks James!
The secret is now out. It's definitely one of my favourite spots. Packing the car now!
It’s awesome - can’t wait to go back!
This looks amazing! I never thought of pei as such a great spot! It's been on our travel list already, but now...can't wait!
Looking up how long it takes to drive there now!
We drove from Ontario and it was a pretty easy drive (once we got out of Toronto of course). Took us 17 hours… a little longer than it takes to Hatteras, but worth it!
We have to go guys!
Nice vid! Would be nice to see some more trick progression videos from you. Like the one you made with the frontroll. Keep it up!
Thanks! We hope to film more videos like that the next time we go to Hatteras. Honestly it’s not the easiest video to make… kind of like herding cats :)
@@OurKiteLife Hahah I can imagine. But still, would be cool. We've seen lots of double backrolls by now hahah :)
Beautiful spot
It really is!
Very interesting, thanks. A bit like different east, west, south coast kite areas in Sweden wrapped onto one great PEI island. Definitely will add to bucket list! P.S. It is obvious that your cute puppy is a kite-boarder wanna-be :-)
Wish we could’ve stayed there longer to explore more spots - really looking forward to returning in the future :)
Nice to watch your entertaining videos while I sit in the middle of the Summer doldrums at the South Jersey Shore. Most we can hope for is an afternoon thermal as the heat rises off the land and it sucks maybe a kiteable 15 mph wind off the ocean. The ocean temperature is about 80 F. Can't have everything I guess.
At home in Toronto it hasn’t been a very windy summer. Hoping for a windy fall to make up for it :)
Really enjoyed your report on PEI, hope to kite there myself someday. What locations would you recommend for foiling? Thanks.
Kite-point and Summerside (note: we barely scratched the surface!)

Looks amazing.
We are planning on going there in September.
Any comments or recommendations regarding using an RV over there. Can you camp close to Kite point.
Not sure to be honest. There’s a great Facebook group (PEI Kiteboarding) - probably the best place to ask!
from pei,, all kinds of camping and rv parks,,,, make sure you have a pei covid pass or they will not let you cross the bridge.
Nice spot
Go back for Party on the Point! I’ll see you there! ❤️ PEI!
Don’t think we’ll make it but wish that we could!!
I am going!!! :)
Nice! 😀
Btw I looked up "Kite Point, PEI" and it is not listed there as such. Perhaps it’s a term the locals use like the "Canadian Hole" in Cape Hatteras?
Ya it’s not a named spot on a map. It’s in Malpeque and “island kiteboard academy” shows up at the exact spot in Google Maps
I always enjoy watching your videos,...always informative. But I broke out laughing when you & the locals described the waters as warm,...22C water temperature is NOT warm!! The ocean water where I kite is 29.3C today,...now that's pleasantly warm,... no wet suit required. :-)
By Canadian standards that's warm.
22C is balmy compared to the 4C we sometimes get in the middle of summer on Lake Ontario after the water inverted
Warm by Swedish standards too :-).
I kite all year in 4-10c water on the northern quebec coast, 20deg is frickin hot to me lol
Looking for advice on accommodations for a month next year in P.E.I. June and Part of July or end of Aug to September 2022.
Check out Airbnb/other cottage rental sites. If you want to be close to Kite Point, look in Malpeque. From our understanding it’s best to book early if you can. We would also check out the PEI kiteboarding website, and Facebook groups too. Hope that helps!
@@OurKiteLife Fantastic help. I appreciate that. Thanks again. Cheers:
@@OurKiteLife Yep. That helps. Thanks
Hello to you, I would like to have your opinion between PEI and Cape Hatteras for a spring kite trip, thank you. Alain
Hatteras will be much warmer in the spring! Best time to visit PEI for kiting is late Aug/early Sept but if you can book last minute then best to check the forecast :)
@@OurKiteLife That's what I thought. Thank you and looking forward to meeting you. Alain
I wish to move 😂🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 C’mon Toronto where’s the wind 💨 🤦🏾♂️
Do they tolerate rv sleeping by the beach ?
There’s no camping at the kite spot but you can camp less than 5 minutes away at Cabot Beach
@@OurKiteLife thx for the info! we will try the 3 rd to the 13 of august good time?
No but heading to Madeline islands
Hopefully when you are waiting for the Ferry in Souris, you'll score a session with SE winds at Souris Beach, or Basin Head.
The Magdalen islands are still on our bucket list :)
@@OurKiteLife Magdalen islands are unreal. The challenge is to find a place to stay. Flats, lagoons, big waves, warm water, great kite community, pro riders. We keep going every year and counting days before our next trip. Tomorrow, the countdown is 364 :)
I missed which country this is in?
Canada
@@OurKiteLife thanks I found it ;)
This was hard to watch. I spent a week in PEI two summers ago and was skunked. Great video though.
Ouch, that’s always a bummer! Hopefully you will get some wind if you ever return to PEI!
