    2003 Volvo S60; 346,000 + miles. Engine runs VERY well, transmission shifts when it's supposed to, AC still works, original Cat convertor. Nothing major other than normal wear items; just replaced passenger side axle, ball joint and strut. Only other unexpected fail was wiper motor and heater fan motor. I did have an issue with the DIM @110,00miles (factory defect). Overall- BEST and most reliable car I have ever owned. STILL my daily.

      That’s amazing! What would say the cons are? I have a 2006 Volvo s80 137k miles and engine lights keep coming up idk why, I just got the car a year ago it was great until recently. The car still runs good. Just these engine lights. Got one today that says “ reduced engine performance “

    • @lynskyrd
      @lynskyrd Місяць тому +2

      @@Riahhsanii Mariah - Reduced Engine Performance can mean many things but it's usually (and hopefully) just air cleaner / spark plugs / ignition coils. You need to find a trustworthy mechanic. NOT an easy task in the 21st century. I do all my own work but know a couple of guys in my area that I can go to if the issue is beyond my abilities or knowledge. As far as 'cons' - like anything with tires & wires - the key is maintenance. Makes sure your oil changes are done when they are supposed to be done. Also- you have 137K miles- find out when the timing belt has been changed-- IF it's been changed. I've done 2 TBelt changes since 2003-- yours is due if it hasn't already been done. Good luck - drive safe.

    I was driving a 2001 V40 on a dual carriageway at night in the UK. The road was wet and there was a slight drizzle, I went into a left corner at about 70 mph and lost control, I over corrected and ended up in a skid. The car hit the middle reservation barrier and flipped 4 times. Landed on the wheels and stopped perpendicular to the 2 lanes, in the middle of the road. The car was totaled, however, the door opened fine, I walked out with nothing but a dislocated thumb. When the ambulance came, they were looking for me in the car, and at first did not believe me that I was the driver. The paramedic who treated me on site bought a Volvo after seeing the accident. I went and bought an XC70 3 months after. These cars save lives and I have never considered any other brand but Volvo!

    My younger brother started driving! And we got him a toypta camry 99 totalled it! He went and got a chevy cavalier crashed it 3 times!! And that was within town driving around! 3 years go by now he got a job 50 miles away! That he's commuting to! When I found out he's driving that far immediately I told my he can't be driving that stupid chevy! I force him and go buy him a 2001 S60 AWD 80k miles! It was far by the time we got home it was 4 AM we had days off next day didn't matter!! A week goes by I order parts for it tune up fluids changed few sensors! A month goes by everything good! I'm out with my wife on my birthday Oct 19! I get a call! Can you please come get me! My immediate reaction oh he crashed again! Second thought he's in a volvo and sounded okay! I get there he fell asleep on a back road highway 60mph limit he was going downhill and he rear ends a semi which was at a complete stop! That woke him up! He walked out not a single scratch on my brother! Apparently police officer told him that they were talking to a dead man! If he was in that chevy he'd have died on my birthday! So fuck any goofy mofo that says or thinks volvos aren't safe! I got police reports! Towing receipt and pictures to prove it!!
