The amount of effort that goes into your videos does not go unnoticed. The writing, planning, editing, sound design, presentation, humor, and genuine personality it's all top tier. And clearly it's not a requirement to do any of that. You could literally just film your hands and do everything in one take freestyle. But the fact that you go above and beyond deserves major kudos.
Absolutely absurd value package from Razer. Gasket mount FR4 with pcb mount stabs just tells me that they actually listened and didnt cut costs for things that matter. I found myself increasingly more surprised as the video went on. This is my absolutely recommendation for anyone. Also this video was really fun. Got a lot of personality in here and it was a blast. Keep it up
It's cool but ... to change to mount stabs, you lose the warranty ... and that's stupid. Plus, with good plate mounted stabs & tape mod... you won't notice the difference...
Now that's a keyboard I'd like to give a whirl. It looks good and it's sounding good out of the box. Only changes I might make are moving a couple keycaps over if I choose to get it. I'll be honest, one thing I miss about having a keyboard with lights is being able to turn off my lamp, playing in the dark hits different.
Man, I feel that! I had to put the stock shine-through caps on my Wooting for a recent video and its reallly nice when you're gaming in low light/dark room.
I remember a few years ago when I was hyped to go from a crusty old first gen blackwidow to a Drop Ctrl. It's weird to think my mechanical keyboard journey might come full circle when they release this thing
Could you do an update to this video it appears their is an issue with these keyboards of double typing. So far razor does not have a fix for it. Wanted to get your insight on it?
Hey just fyi: opening a product you purchased in America does NOT void your warranty. In fact, those "void if opened" stickers are actually illegal here, not that it's well enforced. As long as you don't damage the product yourself in the process of disassembling it, the warranty still stands.
In the United States the FTC has made it clear that opening your device for tinkering or repair is explicitly allowed as long as you don't damage any components and will not void your warranty. Please don't spread misinformation about right to repair. I encourage everyone to know their rights about repairing their own technology and stop giving into the fear from these large tech companies.
that is impressive. never thought id be tempted for a razer keyboard, especially in this day and age but im all for it. everyone needs nice sounding keyboards!
In my experience, Razor always live up to their name. They get dull pretty quickly (short lifespan), but they always bring "cutting edge" features to the gaming world. They're basically fast fashion: put an experation date on your product so your fanbase is encouraged to try the cool new thing.
As an Avid Razer Fanboy for something like 4 years now, this Release could not have made me any happier. In hard contrast to many People I spoke to, not any of my Razer Gear - which is all my Gear by now (xD) - did ever leave me stranded. So I am glad that after the recent shortcomings on some parts this just blew everything out of the Water. And also - great Video Presentation style. Lots of personality, great, fun way to present things and superb delivery. (As a Vocal Director, that kind of is something I look out for lol.) Great stuff, take my like :D
I'm out of the keyboard market for a while now that I have the Wooting, but this seems like a huge step-up vs. what the big brands have been selling. Charging >$100 (often closer to $200) for an acoustically disgusting keyboard with soldered switches is totally ridiculous, yet that's the space that Logitech, Corsair, Razer and SteelSeries have been operating in for years. Because... RGB? Bloated companion software? They've often tried to differentiate themselves with proprietary switches (Romer-G, optical, omni-point, low profile), but for the most part they've not been any better than the traditional Cherry-style switches, and even when they achieve better measurables, they sound like ass and are hamstrung by bad software. It's no secret what keyboard components cost, and the economies of scale at the big brands must mean they've been paying even less. The prices they've been charging are textbook "gamer premium". This is the first big brand product I can remember seeing, where they're flexing some of their manufacturing power towards features that actually matter to the typing and gaming experience.
man ever since I stopped buying Razer products to move more towards custom keyboards, THIS is bringing me back. I promised I wouldn't buy any more keyboards after my 7th, but DAMN this is kinda nice what.
Did Wooting announce somewhere that they'll offer different cases? Honestly if they would just sell the bare PCB I would have gotten one a long time ago. Don't need their cheap plastic case or the keycaps.
Brian, great video, as always. Your production quality is the best of any channel that I watch. I've been using an Azoth for about a month now and have been pretty happy with it. I did swap out the keycaps, but that's it. I even bought some Durock T2 switches and V2 screw in stabs for it when I bought the keyboard, but have stuck with the Asus NX browns and the stabs that came with it.
Still using my razer blackwidow v2 tkl with first gen orange switches, so glad to see they are bringing them back, hopefully we'll see them on tkl and full size boards soon.
That's awesome. Just wish we still had more standard layouts and key cap sizes. If this thing came in a TKL, I'd buy it instantly. Is the full size the same except for more keys?
Actually crazy good keyboard! I can see this being an awesome beginner board for someone who doesn't trust GBs or doesn't wanna build anything completely from scratch yet.
not bad not bad. doin it better than corsair. but since i already have a wooting 60he, my next keyboard anything would probably be an actual custom. i want that zoom 75
Why is it that you say at 03:36 that you don't need to open the board and void the warranty to change out the stabs but at 07:23 you say that the only reason to open the board and void the warranty is if you want to change out the stabs?
Great turn of events for razer. Synapse is still a bit much to deal with though. One thing I don't see a lot of people mention about the Wooting is the significantly improved processor and memory capabilities. Most brands require having some software running on your computer for the RGB effects, but Wooting has it all save on the board itself (fully customizable, per key!).
The exact comment I was going to make. I know their recent line of mice have also been really good, even if I never buy this keyboard I'm very happy to see companies pay attention to their market demographic for once.
Razer been on the up bro. Their mice are second to none, their 2023 blackshark v2 pro is great, if you don’t want a stand-alone mic, and now this keyboard looks like a game changer.
@@bruddah_I have the razer huntsman, v2 viper pro and blackshark pro 2023. Clamp force on the razer pro was also too harsh for me
@@bruddah_mice second too none? I mean xtrify, glorious and logitech imo are generally better mouse brands imo. The viper is probably the only competitive mouse they make.
I work at Micro Center and we just got these boards in today. One of our Razor training videos a while back hinted that they were considering gettinf itno hot swap, so we were patiently waiting to see what would happen. We took the opportunity to feel one of them as we were spider wrapping them and the orange switches felt... fine, to my picky ass, which means that I think a lot of people will actually like them. They definitely feel way better than browns and I wish they would send us boxes of their proprietary switches. However, the spacebar feels EXCELLENT, even by enthusiasts standards. I stillthink the ROG Strix is the better overall buy, but this is a damn good keyboard from Razer and I'm happy to see gaming and custom keyboards slowly blending together.
the real question is- does it compete with wootings .1mm actuation rapid trigger? for a “gaming” keyboard, it needs to match the wooting in terms of raw performance.
3:40 No, in the EU and US, opening a product won't void your warranty, according to the law. But many manufacturers just blatantly ignore the law of course, because they see themselves above it.
this is my first time watching your reviews and i found it quite thorough and visually interesting. the quality of the review made me like the video. the ifi zen dac in the background made me subscribe. great taste.
I’m going to take a moment, sip my coffee, and appreciate how freaking well these videos are produced. So entertaining, so slick. Do you write the amazing zingers or do you record them off the cuff and just say F-it and include them? Honestly, you could review packing material and I would be still be glued to your videos every time.
I feel like 75% layout was made for programmers. And yet, most of them fail to deliver: it should have DEL above BACKSPACE, PRINT SCREENSHOT in the top-right corner, then below it HOME, END and PG UP/DOWN in that order, or HOME, PG UP/DOWN and END. Instead, many of them include useless INSERT key and lacks another button in favor of weird layout or knob. Also, what's up with the smashed up layout? I wish there were more like "Akko 5075S Shine-Through" - black, shine-through, 75% "exploded" with the right key layout, but print screen key option instead of knob. Key remapping on keyboard's firmware level could be useful too.
this is so damn cool to see. i used to use a razer keyboard before the custom keyboard world. its great to see that they are making steps into the right direction
Why, just why do they have the wire in the middle? This completely destroy my setup as the wire in the middle will press against my monitor stand. Cable wire to the left of the keyboard is epic. Because of this, I can't purchase the keyboard believe it or not.
If that PBT/texutre is of similar quality to their previous PBT upgrade set, the characters won't wear off but the texture will. At least the price is very expected of them - the usual price for decent 75/knob version + razer tax. It's better then what they usually do that's for sure.
oh man this was my dream layout, compressed 75%, volume scroll wheel (hell yeah not those knobs) and under 200$! sadly, I'm already into custom kb's and am awaiting my zoom75. still can't deny the value presented by razer here.
You actually don't even need to void the warranty to swap out stabs, TX sells plate mount stabs, which imo solve the ticking issue all the same due to their TPU inserts.
Board sounds great. It's just disappointing they decided to use regular mechanical switches, a non-standard fn layout, and went 8K polling over wireless. It's impossible for me to go back to using regular keyboards after seeing just how more responsive hall effect switches are with rapid trigger. 8K polling uses a ton of CPU resources and still won't make the keyboard feel as responsive as the wooting. They would have been better or going Hall effect 1K polling wireless.
It should be mentioned loudly that in the US that warranty void if removed sticker is Not enforceable thanks to the Magnuson-Moss act. Simply opening something should never void a warranty.
Id recommend dremelling the stand offs on the bottom of the plastic case to give it the tinniest more gasket flex when typing. Its still a hard bottom out, but its an easy mod to do with even some sharp pliers
I bought this keyboard mainly after watching your review. I am finding the spacebar to be super loud - significantly louder than the keys ( I suppose just like yours in the video). This is my first keyboard of this type - I am currently using a Corsair k70 low profile red switch. I just ordered the TX stabilizers in hopes they will quiet it down.
Im really nitpicking here, but what i like about my 75% is that there's no extra space between the F keys and the numbers for when i play games that require alot of keybinds
You nailed it about the primary complaint, the default switch choice. I'm not a fan of tactile switches for gaming at all. If I was wanting to buy this I would hold off until Razer offers it with linear switches.
🤯 - That level of board at that price! My only confort now having spent so much more on the Glorious GMMK PRO (original campaign) is how long I’ve been enjoying it before a big mainstream company made something that IMO, legitimately is better in every way, except maybe the lack of a full aluminum body. But that doesn’t bother me.
It's details like the PCB thickness that makes your reviews stand out from literally anyone else's. Maybe it doesn't matter to most, but it does to those that counts
For one, I'm happy it's not wireless, I have enough hanky connectivity issues to deal with while using the Basilisk Ultimate. I just bought a NuPhy Air75, love it to bits, might have gone with this if I'd seen it before. Excellent stuff, thanks for the review.
I have a Razer BlackWidow V3 mini and I don't recommend it, several keys double click and now I turn it off and the battery indicator led keeps turning on even though it's set to off. While typing this I had a problem with double clicking.
i used a razer blackwidow v3 mini for the longest time before getting my wooting and the one thing i hated most was the dampeners in the switches, made them feel mushy happy to see they moving out of that with this board
It would be cool if they could make a unit that marries some of the advantages of both the Razer V4 75 and their V4 Pro. Something with a detacheable numpad that, depending on if you mount it to the left or right side of the main board body in a manner similar to a Nintendo switch controller, switches between work and game modes. Traditional numpad layout: work mode, numpad over to the other side: "gaming mode" and the numpad keys become macro keys. Each time the keys are remapped. If they want to get clever, design dual LEDs for the numpad keys with isolated keycaps that limit light spill and then dual label them: When you switch modes, the RGB lights up a different part of the keycaps with a different label. They could work with game devs. to design themed numpad keysets too. 75% people are happy, full keyboard people are happy.
I don't understand why people continue to say opening your devices voids yours warranty. Opening your product does not, can not, and will not void your warranty unless you cause purposeful, provable damage by doing so.. From this boards design it's definitely designed to be opened and customized.
Have you looked in to the new Steelseries Apex Pro TKL? It’s also using HE switches and they just released a firmware update that brings it in line with Wooting in terms of actuation point and travel as well as rapid fire. I personally use a full size Wooting Two HE so I haven’t grabbed it yet, I really wish Wooting had a TKL…
I love seeing more modular keyboards come to the market. I bought a Glorious 100% modular keyboard with hot swap switches and I love it, currently running Tealio V2 switches. I really hope razer sells a version of this that does not come with the switches at a cheaper price so you can purchase your own similar to how Glorious does.
Thank you for mentioning the nonstandard keys. I was looking at a keycap set that I was even considering buying at the scalped price (what can I say, they are pretty, and no I won’t say which ones) so that would have sucked getting them and finding they don’t all fit. Don’t really get why they did that, as this is already a lot more compact than most Tenkeyless, I don’t see why they needed to completely change the key sizes.
I sent them the design for a 75% layout back in 2017. I'm quite surprised me they included not one, but TWO knobs. NOW LET'S MAKE IT ANALOG-OPTICAL, RAZER! THE ENDGAME IS FAST APPROACHING!
the MOST important thing that NOT A SINGLE Keyboard streamer - INCLUDING Taeha Types regarding spacebar lubing is - IT MUST BE ABLE TO BOUNCE BACK UP FREELY - otherwise youv'e over lubed it - - just like in this vid - obviously it's personal taste but IMHO - plate mount stabs are easier to work with - just like hotswap switches - no screws involved - personally - the stock spacebar with the plate mount stabs sounded bette than the screw in overlubed one
Gamers gravitating toward linear is still an artefact of the old Cherry MX switches. Even back to the arcade days linear vs tactile buttons were a strong preference that varied. Blacks and Reds just outclassed browns and blues. Compromises in their design to fit the MX black molds limited their capability. A good tactile or clicky is quite the experience, but for a long time they weren't available in Cherry footprint, which meant getting ahold of old Alps keyboards or something to experience it. An MX Blue ain't no Model M either. We're in a better place now, options are good.
Looks great! I ended up selling my the previous blackwidow because i hated the raazer yellow switches and fullsize form factor, but i might switch back for this one if the price isnt horrific in Aus
Razer legit just hasnt been fucking around lately. The death adder pro V3 blew me away and I also love the Deathstalker v2 tkl wireless (love low profile) I have both in white and they are just clean as hell Also badseed... I know that monitorstand... How you liking OLED
gotta give credit to Razer for adding a lot of smart features to this board, hotswap and support for PCB mounted stabs is really nice, and I’m honestly shocked no other gaming keyboard seemingly has a non-alu or non-steel plate, absolutely wild given that I think for most folks not into customs, a less resonant sound would be preferred!
I never thought I'd see the day that Razer would actually release a keyboard that interested me. I already have a V2 Pro with aftermarket skates and grip tape might as well get the whole razer kit
Hi, awesome vid. Now i want to get this this kb. im writing this from a blackwidow v1 2019. A very simple but practical kb, but its not very customizable and it has the green switches that are super noisy. But Is it possible that on the future we can get switches like the ones that the wooting 65hs has for this keyboard or other hot-swap in general?
I got a razer keyboard about a year ago and having to use synapse to use basic functions a nightmare. It's so buggy, profiles don't load properly when you restart your PC, it always goes back to the default rainbow RGB and the profiles that I saved on the keyboards memory regularily get deleted for some reason so i have to load them from a backup. On top of that synapse ALWAYS hovers around 3-8% cpu usage on my system even if it's minimized to tray and if you chose to not use synapse you can't use the 8khz polling and have to reconfigure things like lighting every time you restart your PC. I really can't recommend geting a razer keyboard, even if it's cheaper than other brands. If you care about having the lowest latency keyboard possible, spend a bit more money and get a corsair one so you don't have to deal with synapse and if you don't care about the 8khz and super low latency just get a keyboard from any other brand. Or get a wooting keyboard, it's more expensive and has a bit more latency on paper but with the costumizable auctuation distance and rapid trigger I'm pretty sure it feels more responsive in real use.
Im a razer fanboy that recently drifted away from the brand..this is fantastic to hear they they’re targeting the genuine enthusiast base. Good step in the right direction
A step in the right direction for Razer. I really hope more and more companies keep going with hotswap boards and other layouts. Also glad you did a speedrun of the boring shit lol. Straight to the point.
Razer* and no it's not on par with Wooting, but it's better performing than every other keyboard outside the Wooting so it's worth it. this is so damn cool to see. i used to use a razer keyboard before the custom keyboard world. its great to see that they are making steps into the right direction
Why, just why do they have the wire in the middle? This completely destroy my setup as the wire in the middle will press against my monitor stand. Cable wire to the left of the keyboard is epic. Because of this, I can't purchase the keyboard believe it or not.
You do know that cables are flexible right?
If that PBT/texutre is of similar quality to their previous PBT upgrade set, the characters won't wear off but the texture will. At least the price is very expected of them - the usual price for decent 75/knob version + razer tax. It's better then what they usually do that's for sure.
oh man this was my dream layout, compressed 75%, volume scroll wheel (hell yeah not those knobs) and under 200$!
sadly, I'm already into custom kb's and am awaiting my zoom75. still can't deny the value presented by razer here.
Great stuff man!
Thanks man!
Last board I bought was preordering the GMMK Pro. The keyboard game seems to have changed up a bit. Kinda neat, but I did buy a wooting 60 yesterday.
But that doesn’t bother me.
kinda dumb tho include screw in stab support but opening the board to install them voids the warranty, great keep nonetheless.

You just couldn't resist, could you Brian? 🤣
I could not. And I do not apologize.
@@badseedtechno apologies needed. I need MOAR
It's details like the PCB thickness that makes your reviews stand out from literally anyone else's. Maybe it doesn't matter to most, but it does to those that counts
As someone who got into the hobby 2 years ago after maining Razer keyboards, this is so awesome to see.
For one, I'm happy it's not wireless, I have enough hanky connectivity issues to deal with while using the Basilisk Ultimate. I just bought a NuPhy Air75, love it to bits, might have gone with this if I'd seen it before.
Excellent stuff, thanks for the review.
When will they have a wireless version? Really into the 75% with low latency and tryna decide between this and asus roth
Pre-ordered the white version last night as a birthday gift to myself (despite already having 5 keyboards)
I have a Razer BlackWidow V3 mini and I don't recommend it, several keys double click and now I turn it off and the battery indicator led keeps turning on even though it's set to off. While typing this I had a problem with double clicking.
Don't get mechanical switches, or go custom to hotswap, that's literally the downfall of all mechanical keyboards. Go optical or analog
wait, if screw ins screw from the bottom, and opening it voids your warranty, how do you use screw ins?
Those stickers aren't actually enforceable, ie: removing those stickers does not void any warranty.
i used a razer blackwidow v3 mini for the longest time before getting my wooting and the one thing i hated most was the dampeners in the switches, made them feel mushy happy to see they moving out of that with this board
Man, I might get this for my birthday. Seems like an amazing board, and 75% is probably the best build type.
Damn, and I told myself I was never going to buy another Razer board… Great video B! How does it sound with your tactile switches in it?
75% people are happy, full keyboard people are happy.
fyi, on the Razer website, the white version is on pre-order and ships August 27th.
Any chance the Wireless version gonna come soon?
Synapse...Can you configure the keyboard and then either disable or remove Synapse...And the board will keep it's lighting and other settings?
I don't understand why people continue to say opening your devices voids yours warranty. Opening your product does not, can not, and will not void your warranty unless you cause purposeful, provable damage by doing so.. From this boards design it's definitely designed to be opened and customized.
You Post. I watch. I do not need a keyboard, yet I watch. You are killing it.
Keep it up man.
Awesome review Badseed. Might just pick this one up.
Was thinking about getting a Keychron K2-K3 but if this thing comes with ISO layout too i will have to rethink which to get .
At the Razer's price you can get a Q3
@@mystic4panda285 yeah the price is dissapointing
monsgeek m1 has iso, they're coming out with iso layout for the wireless version too soon
@@topofthemorning4959 might take a look thx
Have you looked in to the new Steelseries Apex Pro TKL? It’s also using HE switches and they just released a firmware update that brings it in line with Wooting in terms of actuation point and travel as well as rapid fire. I personally use a full size Wooting Two HE so I haven’t grabbed it yet, I really wish Wooting had a TKL…
Excellent video!!
the stock sounds really good to me. only thing i wish is that the keycaps sat lower down into the frame
Dude you got me with that intro 😂
I hope it got THEM too lol 😅
Between this board, the Azoth, and the Wooting, is there any support for Via or custom firmwares?
the MOST important thing that NOT A SINGLE Keyboard streamer - INCLUDING Taeha Types regarding spacebar lubing is - IT MUST BE ABLE TO BOUNCE BACK UP FREELY - otherwise youv'e over lubed it - - just like in this vid - obviously it's personal taste but IMHO - plate mount stabs are easier to work with - just like hotswap switches - no screws involved - personally - the stock spacebar with the plate mount stabs sounded bette than the screw in overlubed one
The death adder pro V3 blew me away and I also love the Deathstalker v2 tkl wireless (love low profile) I have both in white and they are just clean as hell
Also badseed... I know that monitorstand... How you liking OLED
I am waiting for white version like my huntsman mini. All razer optical switches get sticky keys issue where key registers until pressed again
gotta give credit to Razer for adding a lot of smart features to this board, hotswap and support for PCB mounted stabs is really nice, and I’m honestly shocked no other gaming keyboard seemingly has a non-alu or non-steel plate, absolutely wild given that I think for most folks not into customs, a less resonant sound would be preferred!
I never thought I'd see the day that Razer would actually release a keyboard that interested me. I already have a V2 Pro with aftermarket skates and grip tape might as well get the whole razer kit
I already put "on hold" my wooting 60he order, because I prefer waiting for 60he module with pcb stabs and more plates. They said mids september.
What functionality would be lost if we uninstalled or just don't run synapse?
Well, seems like I have a tough decision to make: this or the Wooting 60HE?
Great review. Ordered one today.
They can say opening voids warranty but im pretty sure it does not at least not by USA laws.
I really love how it looks! Might have to pick one up in a few months.
Could I ask, how's it's mounted?
Gasket mounted
A step in the right direction for Razer. I really hope more and more companies keep going with hotswap boards and other layouts. Also glad you did a speedrun of the boring shit lol. Straight to the point.
Has Razor caught up with Wooting regarding the rapid trigger and partial actuation features?
Razer* and no it's not on par with Wooting, but it's better performing than every other keyboard outside the Wooting so it's worth it. Owner of the huntsman mini analog and love it, definitely my main and go to recommendation. Difference is beyond minor so you'll enjoy the rapid trigger feature of Razer.
Ah so it's only for their analog keyboards? I would like to have rapid trigger on this new keyboard as it has everything else that I'm looking for. @@BravenTyler
That sound test suprised me af, was NOT expecting that
Do they make this in a full size keyboard? I need the number pad and all the F-keys for work.
