Never seen somebody killing those steaks this hard🤣 they are the definition of „being done“ in the most finished way of all things that have ever been done before... done.. completely..
You mean fully cooked instead of being partly uncooked? Most people prefer their meat fully cooked. I know eating it partly uncooked is supposedly more fancy and flavorful, but some people can't stomach it. Me included. If my meat isn't fully cooked and I can see red/pink, I'm not going to eat it. I'm too classy to eat like a savage, regardless of how superior those savages think they are. If you can stomach eating the meat partly raw, good on ya. I can't even eat Sushi.
Tempted to buy one as a Weber nerd but already have the Q1200 and I don't have a reason (i.e. local bylaws) that prevent me from using my charcoal and gas Webers at home. Disappointing that Weber don't fit the larger lid of the Q1200 with thermometer and no side tables. The tables could be a problem using the 1400 on a balcony if space is an issue and they are available as an expensive upgrade. I was impressed with your homemade platform for the bbq, clever.
I'm glad I stayed watching this video because I'm actually looking for a good indoor grill so I can grill in the dead of winter then when I seen you thumbnail I was excited seeing the name "WEBER" then when I started your video and seen your grill outside I was asking myself why in the world would you have an indoor grill cooking outside and thinking I was about to waste my time watching because I wanted to see an indoor grill I just about switched to a different video but It was then i decided to read your title and it was at that time i seen your title said Weber electric grill nothing what so ever about indoors. So i decided to watch the video to just how good this electric grill could actually be, man oh man was i glad i watched because i learned two very good things in this video. First of all for a electric grill that cooked very well and looked to hold a even cooking all around the surface. Second thing i learned was just because its electric doesn't mean you could use it indoors if you wanted due to winter or bad rains because it definitely throws off alot of smoke. Great video
The electrics are good for a covered porch, multi family situation. In Boston at least, open flame grills are technically illegal in those circumstances.
Yes. Your comment, at least, proves that you're a condescending a-hole. I'm glad you think of yourself as a grilling master who knows of the only correct way to grill meat. Who cares for variety or difference in tastes. YOUR way is the only right way to cook and everyone likes it the way YOU cook it. If people don't cook it the way YOU think it's supposed to be cooked, they shouldn't be cooking in the first place, right? Man this comment section is full of narcissistic pricks who thinks so highly of themselves.
I couldn't really see the timer very well but how long did it take you to cook those steaks? And does that grill really gets hot? Also can you use it for indoor use
It also means he didn't cook them properly. He overcooked one side and the juices bubbled to the other side, making it terribly wet. The grill couldn't make up for it.
@@shawnkay5462 Yeah, some people don't seem to understand this fact. They treat the "partly uncooked" thing as some unspoken rule of ultimate cooking perfection. Just looking at meat that is partly uncooked makes my stomach churn. If I got served that at a restaurant, I would send it back and ask them to finish cooking it...
Absolutely a bad grill! Weber says how good this is, but in 2 years changing 2 times the power module and 3 times the heating!! The whole electric in the house was checked and all ok. Weber service is ok but no solution in this case. Make a camp fire or cook in the kitchen. (and put the q1400 to the trashcan...)
My experience is better. Had mine over 6 years now. I don't baby it. Sits outside year round no cover. Sometimes I forget the cord outside, too. I use it hard-several times a week, occasionally every day. I'm on my second element replacement, which seems to be paar for the course, and I'm not at all sad about it.
Do not use a wire brush to clean your grill, Google it, the wires find their way into food and then in your body or your kids, use a wood or teflon scraper...
I was just about to say the same. I saw a news story about a guy who used a wire brush on his grill and made some burgers and ate a piece of the wire. Had to have surgery to remove from his intestine.
Some of these videos show a beautiful steak with lines burned into them. That doesn't mean there's any charcoal flavor. I have an electric grill it's good for hotdogs. But not for steaks. There is no flavor whatsoever. You'd be just as far ahead to cook them on a frying pan inside the house
BBQ for me has always been a social aspect and also to add some nice lines to the meat. It has never been about any "charcoal flavor". In fact, I've never noticed a difference in the taste between meat that has been grilled or cooked on a frying pan. Unless the "charcoal flavor" you're talking about are the burnt parts, which taste awful? The end result is always cooked meat that tastes like cooked meat... If your meat has no flavor, you're either buying shitty meat, or you're simply highly susceptible to placebo. You've convinced yourself that it won't taste great, so naturally it won't. That, or you're like my step-mother, who enjoys the flavor of unevenly cooked and partly burnt meat. Something I'll never understand.
I use wood chips. Definitely gives a great flavor, just like grilling. I won't say it gets as hot as a fire. It doesn't. But it does the job...and with a few tweaks, it makes really great food. This is hands down the best option I found if you aren't allowed to have charcoal/gas where you live. I've been using mine around 6 years heavily. One note, you do get a better sear in frigid weather. Just because it loses heat faster and engages the element more often.
Never close the lid when grilling steaks this thin. They are completely overcooked. When you turned the meat over, the topside was already cooked. Horrible way of wasting a few good steaks. Horrible video as well.
Yeah, god forbid you fully cook the meat before eating it. It has to be partly uncooked according to some freaking 5-star restaurant standard, otherwise it's a waste of a good steak. Because, god forbid, people don't like their meat the way YOU do. What a waste for people to eat things the way they prefer, rather than what other people think they should. Man, I'm glad I don't make videos. Seeing the stupidity of humanity is already making me want to off myself. But seeing as how people are so adamant about how steaks MUST be cooked according to some standard, otherwise it's a complete and utter waste- is just the straw that broke the camel's back. For gods sake... Please, just stop it. Humanity needs to die out so a better species can take over. I've had enough.
@@ThatShadowBannedGuy 😂😂😂😂 You reacted on a 1 year old comment. Keep cooking your steaks, put them in the blender and serve through a tube if that is what you like. GFY.
So perfect to understand with no nonsense filming and the dog makes it nice.

Terrific deck railing mount for your grill. Great idea! Hope your cute dog is getting one of those steaks. He/she looks hungry! Thanks for the video.
Thank you, I never cooked thin steak on a barbecue but those steaks looked great
Thank you for showing us how this grill works.
It looks very good
Awesome sharing

If my city said I couldn't cook outside or use charcoal I would do it more. On purpose. That's ridiculous

This is NOT an indoor grill and has never been advertised as such.

That was the longest sentence I've ever read.
It shouldn’t smoke like that heating up. He’s not cleaned it properly before use so the fat is burning.
@@D_SynoHoly shet i couldnt tell if he was trolling or not with that sentence
Steaks looks great
Those steaks should be like 90 seconds per side not 4 minutes, but be well and I hope they brought you joy.
Single dad..with tripple meat slice wow
Cool video, I used to live on Marlowe Ave in Lakewood. You are pretty OCD with the stove timer thing though
That was good for me since I never thought of it and the time made it work perfect.
The timer was to give you an idea of how long it takes to heat, cook, etc.
lol, nothing ocd about the state of that bbq grill however. Needs a good clean, you could see all the smoke even before he put those steaks in there.
This proves so much. Just because you have a Weber, doesnt mean you can cook.

i just got one...How did you attached the base to the railing (great idea)
How does the taste compare to grilling meat on a gas grill? :)
That was amazing.
How many watts?
From Weber's website:
Power: 1,560 WATTS / 120 VOLTS
I couldn't really see the timer very well but how long did it take you to cook those steaks? And does that grill really gets hot? Also can you use it for indoor use
my grill (the same on video) got 210°C / 410°F, messed with a laser temperature gauge
wtF with the cooking timer ? You are wearing like a 20 lb dive watch why not just look at your watch?
The backside of the meat doesn't have the grill pattern. That means the grill isn't hot enough. This is a known weakness of electric grills.
It also means he didn't cook them properly. He overcooked one side and the juices bubbled to the other side, making it terribly wet. The grill couldn't make up for it.
