I know, right? I bought it on day one just in case they upped the price. They did that for Smalland, upped the price after a few updates. Enshrouded actually came out on sale, if I remember correctly.
It’s ridiculous how much content there is for the price and it’s really impressive how buttery smooth it runs….and it’s so good looking too. As a rule, I’m not into base building types of games, but this is exceptional in its ease of use and just how deeply satisfying it is to effortlessly put together a stunning looking base. Without question, this is one of the best releases this year….and that’s saying something in a superb year for us gamers.
Looking forward to when they implement townsfolk (hopefully with tasks), pet and farm animals, and weather (hopefully with wind that moves the flora, but not sure if possible), the game at that point should feel much more alive, and town-building will much be more rewarding.
agreed. imo i think that at that point it will be somewhat better than medieval dynasty depending on how they do it. i think enemy patrols will make it feel better too. this is the game that gave me the most skyrim type feels.
Keen has been killing it with updates and adding stuff! The lore and story is great especially when you take your time and read it all! And being such a small part of the overall all world is open I’m excited to see how they and where they take the story and biomes
I find it crazy that they aren’t expanding on the story. I want to know more on how the world became the way it did and I’m excited for new bosses and challenges.
Two months later and we now have Multiple NPC instances Townsfolk NPC's Townsfolk pets Animal Farming Weather System Mountains Biome And Water!, JK, its ice, but that's progress. Got my family to buy this game after the recent update and we are all loving it.
"I absolutely love the concept of adding townsfolk and pets into the game. If they are static, implementing them should be relatively straightforward. However, introducing any movement could potentially cause significant FPS drops, as we've seen with many open-world games that are already strained by their lack of loading screens. The same concern applies to dynamic water; flowing or animated water could exacerbate performance issues. That said, I sincerely hope the world includes lakes, pools, or at least static water features-perhaps even modular water blocks. Fingers crossed for a balance between immersion and performance optimization.
@6:16 I thought the reasssignable glider shortcut was to be able to set it to a different key/button from jump so as to stop accidentally gliding when trying to jump
Would love to see them make the world react, like after you take out a shroud root they stay gone and the shroud is gone and the world will heal itself and start growing trees and grass. So you are actually saving Embervale.
The server updates floored me because there are people out there that do want to have just a chill and build map. Not having to use a trainer to do that has been absolutely brilliant. There were so many new things. I have just barely come back to the game since the updates. The fact that they made it more compatible with linux since the steam deck update has been great too. It makes my life a whole lot easier since I don't have to run the game through something like lutris. I can just run it on steam helps a lot with since I am running an older PC. I really do love this game and it has been giving me a pretty good rotation for content.
Great video guys, thank you very much for posting, I’d no idea about the vast majority of this stuff coming down the line and I’m really excited to dive back into this masterpiece of a game.
For more Monsters, i think would be HUGE if we have more Corrupted/Shroud version of the animals too? Like Shroud Goat / Shroud Rabbit, and more Shroud version from the New Farm/wild animals thats itss coming. So we can actually feel HOW the Shroud REALLY corrupted the World. Its will be very cool. They receive more life/damage and also drop souls, and are agressive and attack us.

I like that you can sort chests and fill them with a single button press. But what's annoying is that there is no "only fill what is already inside" button. I don't want to put my arrows in my cooking material chest!
I'd love to see Wedge building blocks/ voxels for building with. Then, we can create straight lines for roofs, and give better appearances or representation of circles and actual stair hand rails.
You can do this your just not aware of the context voxels that change each voxels state. You may have accudently come across a few like thatch roof making imperial japan roofing end caps but you can go so much deeper by using raw rock and dirts to change bricks into crazy shapes. There is a lot of depth here and i can see this being used by other games moving forward
These are some of my fave types of vids you guys do, where you just sit and chat about the game. Well done for a lovely video and shout out to Keen for the hard work. ❤
If they add a weather system I wish they would make strong winds blow the shroud fog across the land, this would also be followed by a horde of the undead so include another one of their features (random enemy parties etc). Imagine questing in an area and slowly seeing the fog rolling in and within it seeing the shadows of undead moving within. Think Carpenter's the Fog. Imagine if the fog drifted into your base and turned your townsfolk! Also I think if it snows or it's winter that you have to harvest crops or they perish and unsheltered farm animals get sick - I know this isn't for everyone but it gives us more activities we, as settlement leaders, have to manage. x
Aren't the Will-o'-the-wisp based on the Scottish folklore around them being spirits that haunt bogs and swamps tempting travellers into the water to drown? I think they were first introduced in the swampy forest?
I'm very glad that I bought this game a week ago after the recent update, because looking at the state of the game right at the beginning, I don't think I would have liked it as much as I do now.
"Post-processing is a technique used in video games to enhance the look and feel of a scene by applying filters to an image buffer before it's displayed on screen." There was a photo of a window with insane bloom, which everyone has been complaining about. Maybe it means they will be fixing the blinding bloom effect. Which would be really nice. It's so painful. I haven't played since launch. I was so happily surprised when I picked the game back up a week ago with the potted plants! They're so cute. All I want is to be able to build a greenhouse for the Farmer. We need glass walls/roof pieces.
And here i thought i was being innovative and cool bringing a lower level glider to the last Hollow Hall. Oh, and 18:33 i kept hearing "edible signs" and "edible chests" 😂
They have greatly changed the landscape of the game, making the map more saturated EVERYWHERE. The number of places where it is interesting to build a base has increased tenfold. It was as if she had sharpened the original blank of the game, polishing it. A lot of little things have changed, almost every bump, but for this you need to be observant.
No, the glider thing is the shortcut button for the glider... Reassigable .. ;) Which I'm not sure if they have implemented yet ! But, I do agree you need to be prepared by bringing your lower level glider 😂
I only know of one spot right now that was changed in ‘location improvements’. The first area you pass through the shroud under the bridge has been changed. I didn’t notice anything different with fort kelvin, but I do need to go back there to look around. The advantage of having a 2nd character is I can see how things have changed in springlands and the revelwood. Sadly hadn’t gone past the fel wyrm before the most recent update so nomad highlands and kindlewaste I’ve only seen as they are now.
Ferndale and Westcott were completely reworked. Hillock was turned from a tent camp into a ruined fortress. Willow Crush and Fort Kelvin were turned from a couple ruined buildings into entire towns. There are more I've forgotten.
@@justinh4364 I'm surprised Willow Crush changed so much. Then again being more of a survivor and less of a fighter resulted in me not exploring much beyond the area close to the bridge until recently. Was surprised it had a pack of skellies in its basement.
I think they should change the Staffs to do specific damage as opposed to casting spells. The spells sometimes can be very slow and clunky and you can't use them. But if you have a fire ball staff or frost staff I think it would add so much more playability to mage combo builds.
