Stationery products are the best! I've been keeping journals, sketchbooks, notebooks since I could write, and can't see myself stopping any time soon. My pocket money used to be spent on stamps and thin blue airline stationery so I could write to my many penpals abroad, and notebooks I journaled in. I love that you can pick up a cheap notebook and pen, but that there are also fountain pens that cost more than a month's rent. It's a hobby that can be enjoyed at any budget, and it's down to the individual what you'll use it for. Happy Back to school season, everyone!
Love this!!! I just picked up 4 one subject notebooks yesterday for 25 cents a piece! $1 for 4 notebooks! I've got a project up my sleeve for the next few weeks to use them for😎
I have loved stationery since I was a kid. I guess that is one big reason I became a school teacher! ;) I still love BTS sales! I miss actual stationery STORES. We had a "McWhorter's Stationery" in CA when I was growing up. But then Office Depot, Office Max, and Staples came along and little stationery stores couldn't compete. :(
Seconding all the comments to check out Japanese and Korean stationery....they take everything to the next level! The JetPens UA-cam channel is a good rabbit hole to dive into. 😊
Love looking up various stationery! Definitely recommend checking out various Japanese and Korean stationary too - they're a huge deal! I wouldn't recommend getting them if they're too expensive for you to buy imported though, but if you can afford it I recommend seeing if you have a local Daiso nearby, and/or browsing sites like Bungu, Stationary Pal, and JetPens. They also have great UA-cam channels that come with ideas and inspiration for using stationery and journaling! ^^
I love office supplies and have since I was a little girl. I am 63 now. Remember going to the grocery store when I was little and I loved looking in the stationary isle. I just wanted a hole puncher or anything. Lol. Needless to say I still do love looking and maybe buying. Thanks for this video ❤
You should visit Daiso's stationary section or a local stationary that's not a big company store. They are amazing 😁 I think you've just touched the stationary surface with big stores. But I have always obsessed over stationary just like you. It is a vibe to get something new and look forward to how you'll be complimented or how you will use them.
I can remember being about 3 and coloring on the floor with these huge dot matrix printer papers that had writing and white and green lines on one side, and they were blank on the back. My grandparents had a tub of used crayons. And I could spend HOURS making things out of paper. Give me scissors and tape and I was in heaven. 4 decades plus later, give me a pen and paper, and a day to myself. It's HEAVEN❤❤❤
Im a massive stationary fan myself. Ballpens, clips, pins, staplers, sketchbooks, memo pads, washi tapes, journal and notebooks, etc. Im also an artist myself so I usually use them for art related. No matter how cheap they are, i find ways to create something interesting with it
About 30 some years ago I worked in an office product/print shop. The pay was dismal but it remains the job that had the most joy. All the little things! 😀❤️😀
Oh boy, I love making stuff. In my case, stationery and sewing tools have been my favorite outcomes because I end up with really cool stuff that I like. I've made tons of multiuse pouches, a cover for my kindle, and even fabric covers for some of my notebooks. If you like to create stuff, I really recommend that you try to learn how to sew. Also some times fabric stores can be quite far or expensive so sometimes buying old clothes from thrift stores to get some fabric is a great way to reuse and recycle.
Oh wow, that's so cool!! I do know how to sew, actually, but it's more for repairs and not as much making things. Would be a fun and handy skill to learn more in depth!
I love fun binder clips and brightly colored paper clips! Also, the opener made me think of a line from “You’ve Got Mail” where Tom Hanks’s character mentioned a “bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils”. ❤
Wait until you find a place that carries Japanese stationery goods. You will never go back to Target and Walmart. I am 41yo and always loved stationery. My favorite thing to do was shopping for school supplies! I grew up in France, so our stationery is also different from there (we use fountain pens at a very young age and our grid paper is also different). I now live in the US and I am underwhelmed by back-to-school supplies from big chains. I am telling you, go look for a more curated shop, you will be in heaven!
Our Walmart didn't really participate in Back-to-School this year since they were rearranging most of the store. I feel like they kind of downsized their stationary a little bit. I have thought of going to our Office Max to check out what they have. I'm surprised that they're still open thay don't get a lot of business IMO. I inherited my Mom's live for stationary and shopping. Construction paper is SUCH an underrated art supply!!!
The potentiality of all office supplies gets me excited! When I get home with x amount of books, pens, etc I realize I don’t have enough time to make everything I want to make.
I’ve been obsessed with stationery ever since I was a kid. I always enjoyed school so I always wanted the coolest things to do school with! I also kept diaries and journals and still do to this day. There’s something so magical about getting new stationery products!!
I'm glad you like them man! Also it's great to hear, and one of the best compliments when someone says they don't see something like my work often. I'm grateful bro!🙏
I personally love journaling and scrapbooking. So I love testing out new journals and trying new items that just came out. But I have to say journals are my fave
Right on!!! I've really wanted to make my own pocket notebook. It's on my long list of ideas for sure!🤣 I'm glad you enjoyed this one, and the channel as a whole! Thanks for watching!
I adore stationary so much and Back to School Season has the best deal compare to buying it off season. Let alone you see so much contrasting colors and designs that gives the hint of joy and sparks of ideas. It is an everyday item that you don't think about because we are so focus on functionality. But once you dive into Japanese Korean Taiwanese EU stationaries you start to understand the appeal and elevation on it.
Awesome and thank you for sharing ! I am glad to know I am not the only one obsessed with stationery . I have been told to seek help because I have boxes of pens and I keep on collecting ….. 😂 😂 😂 seriously I think US supermarkets are the best and the variety is just amazing . I wish they had them in Hong Kong ❤
My search for the perfect pen ended when I found the Uniball Jetstream many, many years ago. Have yet to find one I like better! Something about the perfect pen is just... 👌
@@GareTheBear You can start with the inepensive ones from Zebra or Pilot. They write surprisingly well. I buy mine at PopShelf. Fairwarning, they are as addicting as stationary 😅

@@GareTheBear would love to see a video on that moreso for your reaction 😁.

In my case it has to do with my adhd, so that might be something to consider.

Love Fountain Pens, different inks, bottled or cartridged, various types of paper to bring out desired effects in the ink.
Oooo nice!! How does the paper give a different effect with the ink? I guess maybe it soaks in differently?

I love stationary products too! I will never have enough .

They have some but they're not quite as mini as the Walmart ones. Too big for pockets! This target doesn't have any smaller unfortunately!
