    Here’s a basic mathematical proof that the earth is round (using spherical geometry):
    Start at the North Pole (0, 90) and travel directly south on the prime meridian to the equator.
    You will end up on the fancy spot near Africa where the coordinates are (0,0).
    Then, turn directly to the right and travel along the equator until you wind up at the spot (90,0). It should off the coast of Central America.
    Now take another right turn and walk back up. If you land back at the North Pole, then you’ll have made a triangle.
    In flat geometry (drawing on a flat plane), all triangles must have all their internal angles sum to 180 degrees.
    But we made three right angles walking around the earth. That’s 270 degrees. In spherical geometry, triangles must be greater than 180 degrees, but less that 540.
    Although (because earth is big) it appears locally flat, in reality, it’s a large sphere. Any triangle you walk along the earth will be greater than 180 degrees.
    QED.

      How would that convince anybody? Let's assume I believe the earth is flat. Why would I believe any of what you just wrote? If I believed that the "theory" that earth isn't flat and anything related to it are hoaxes, why would I believe what you just wrote about angles? Do you assume that this hypothetical person would be like: "It's all a lie!!11!! Oh, he wrote a mathematical proof involving angles. Who would lie about angles? I guess my whole worldview was wrong and the earth isn't flat after all."
      Or do you think this person would be able to literally get to the North Pole and then travel directly South in a way that they consider entirely impossible to manipulate and then carefully follows all of your instructions? I guess we can agree that way best very affluent people would be able to put this to a practical test and even then it would be next to impossible to do so in a way that is impossible to manipulate.

      2 things. Every animal can trace its beginning back to 2, one male and 1 female. Next, Evolution is a theory, not fact. Another note. ALL animals on the ARK was Juveniles, not adults, each one had all the DNA to produce all of their KIND. There KIND. 2 camels had the DNA to produce all camels we see today. Remember God created all animals and mankind as ADULTS. There was NO young as everything was Very Good and eternal, NOTHING died so there was no breeding until the expulsion of Adam and Eve, everything ate plants. At that time God cursed the earth with what we call ENTROPY, death and decay. As things would now die, breeding was needed as animals and man had to reproduce. As for all the races, Adam and Eve's children when born each was different, the word Cain means burnt man or black. Each child Eve had was a different race and those races stayed together and begat their KIND. Black, White, Oriental and every race we have today came from the DNA of Adam and Eve, this is proven in our DNA. Proven, the whole race of man was born from 2 humans. Proven there was a bottle neck of 8 humans, this was the proven Flood. PROVEN there are NO fossils below the FLOOD line. NOT one. Proven, fossils develop very fast when mineral enriched water and earth are combined, ex. the FLOOD. Proven all fossils are in natural sluices found around the globe where they accumulated as they flood swept across the globe. This is all been proven but people want to believe a man Darwin who in 1847 INVENTED evolution, before that everyone knew the origin of species, Creation.

      They had no proof that the sun revolved around us, there was proof to the contrary, and they still persecuted anyone that said otherwise.
      Christians and flat earther s are the same in that they both don't give a flying f about science and instead go off some outdated manuscripts and their flawed judgement.

      @@Ryan-ff2dbI ask, because you made an assertion about how flat-earthers use circular reasoning to prove an argument. So if that's true, can you explain or steel-man their arguments and demonstrate how they are circular? It feels like a lot of people love to watch satire or videos making fun of flat-earthers, but they have no fundamental understanding of the arguments or reasons people believe in flat earth to begin with.
      Flat Earth arguments are usually only accepted through the lense of someone criticizing them and being presented as, "false" that most folks perceive as true without any actual investigation.
      tl'dr people just see videos like this and go, "hurr durr flat earth dumb, but I don't know why, I just make fun cuz video made fun hurr durr" and it's like, if you're not informed to begin you, you probably shouldn't say that flat earthers use circular reasoning.
      Now, I'm not accusing you of doing this specifically, but it seems to be the case a lot of the time. I find it to be ignorant honestly. Like it's one thing if you disagree with the position, but to condemn it without actually understanding it, is just ignorant.
      "Condemnation without investigation is the height of ignorance."
      So if you cannot steel-man a flat earth argument or position, why even say they are using circular reasoning to begin with? Can you demonstrate this so called circular reasoning being used or applied? Furthermore, even if you can, can you demonstrate that the individual or individuals who are using circular reasoning have shared beliefs held by several flat earthers by-in-large, or that it's a consensus utilization of their arguments or positions thereof? No? Ok then, I rest my case.
      tl'dr "this flat earther made a dumb argument, so all flat earth is wrong or dumb" I can show you plenty of people who believe the globe making dumb arguments about a multitude of things and topics.
      Myself and many others didn't come to a position to doubt the globe because of some so called faith or belief for the sake of belief, it's actually quite the opposite. At least for myself anyways. I used to believe the globe, believe in relativity, believe in all of it without questioning it, or asking why, and if it's true or not. I just accepted it blindly, because everything told me it's true, so it must me. Science tells me it's true, it must be.
      Only when I stopped and started to investigate things and question did I reach these conclusions I hold. It's because the claims do not measure up to demonstrable reality, or the globe model simply needs a re-work and science is either incompetent or lazy to review old archaic claims that need to be updated and re-defined.
      But please, don't claim we're all stupid, or say, "we just believe just because" nothing could be further from the truth.

    • @Ryan-ff2db
      @Ryan-ff2db 2 місяці тому +3

      @@zefferssOk I'll bite. The earth is flat, therefore the millions of photos of Earth must be fake because the earth is flat. Calculations based distance of a spherical earth must also be faked because the earth is flat. Distances must have been altered and since no one has ever been able to devise a way to accurately calculate distance between objects on a flat earth model therefore, the basis of mathematics must be fake.
      At this point a flat earther will ignore the elephant in the room and bring up some obscure "believed fact" to try to dodge the obvious argument. Something about a plane flying somewhere .... or light from some lighthouse somewhere about something.
      So let's break it down to this. If you can devise a way to accurately calculate distances on a flat earth that corresponds to the distances when driving in my car across North America in all directions than I will listen. Otherwise, there will be no further response from me because one thing above all else that a flat earther believe in is argumentation for the sake of argumentation.

    I'm laughing but crying on the inside at this. I truly have lost a sibling to this shit, sadly. I thought he was being silly when he visited a few years ago and informed the Earth is flat. I laughed at first, surely he was joking!
    He was not. And he got VERY angry when I informed him he was wrong. Like, the type of aggression that has made me cut him off physically and I will never live close to him. He kept encouraging me to move to his city, which does seem to have better jobs, but I finally just had to be honest and inform he's why I will never move there. Oh, and Greg Abbott. Though I live in Alabama, so...I'm not in a much better state, lol. But I feel like moving from Alabama to Texas at this point would just be trading one hellhole for another 😂. But, he doesn't want to live in Alabama, so of all the damn things about this state, it is keeping me safe from ever having to risk him living near me.
    I wished him a happy birthday this year by text, as we usually still do and he clearly read my message but didn't respond. Yep, that's about where our sibling relationship is at now. This conspiracy shit destroys families. After many times of crying, I've made my peace with the destruction of mine. My older brother is beyond help. My younger brother also believes this shit but not as hard as my older brother. I think somewhere very deep down inside, he realizes it makes no sense. I think they're both just bitter and angry at the world/our government and thus distrustful. But instead of using nuance, because that's hard and takes effort, they just throw the baby out with the bathwater. This, I feel, is conspiracy theories in a nutshell. It's easy to make claims when you ignore the existing evidence of the world and just make up your own.

    1. Why are all the other planets, that anyone can see with a telescope, spherical and not flat?
    2. On a flat earth map the north pole is in the center and the point that the sun and moon rotate around. It should be warm there according to that map. So why is it cold?
    3. GPS. Please explain GPS working on a flat earth. I'll wait.

    • @JannPoo
      @JannPoo 2 місяці тому +11

      If flatearthers were smart (and they are not) they would be able to answer number 3 very easily and logically. The whole reason we need satellites for communications and GPS is precisely because the earth is not flat. To pinpoint the location of something you only need three antennae, this is called "triangulation". It works and it's used in some cases (for example by cell phones repeaters), but only in the small scale. You can't do that for long distances because it's not possible to have a direct line toward a distant target due to the earth's curvature. Therefore you need to send the signal up to the sky first several kilometers above and then down, you simply can't create an antenna tall enough to achieve the same result. But in a supposedly flat earth that problem wouldn't exist, you'd just need 3 antennae on the tallest mountains and you would be able to triangulate the position of any device that can be pinged, you wouldn't even have the issue of adjusting for relativistic effects since everything is static.
      Instead if you ask them they'll come with dumb answers like "they are using balloons".

      The problem with your questions is it assumes a certain level of logical thinking.

    • @zefferss
      @zefferss 2 місяці тому +4

      1. So this first question is fallacious with it's premise. You would need to establish that the Earth is the same kind of celestial object as those we observe in the sky. You cannot ask the question without first demonstrating that the Earth is also a planet and the same as what we observe. Do this first, then the question can be addressed properly. You're using a presupposition by framing the question as if the Earth has been demonstrated to be a globe to begin with.
      2. This question is a bit harder to answer, because seasons exist, and the Sun moves, either on a globe or a flat Earth, the sun has a relative position of movement and that impacts seasons. I don't have like a lengthy answer for this one, all I can really say is that from a flat Earth point of view, more understanding about the Sun/Moon needs to be addressed and discovered.
      3. Oh GPS? Man I got you, this is the easiest question you're asking. Are you even aware that telescopes or satellites in space falsify relativity? They use an ECI reference frame, or ECEF reference frame. They make meridian corrections also.
      The principle of Relative Simultaneity is not accounted for in GPS. The atomic clocks can tell and they tell us that there's no additional velocity vectors as well. In regards to the speed of light, special relativity claims the relativity of simultaneity, that states two events occurring at two different places, which are viewed as simultaneous for an observer in a system. This is usually not simultaneous if viewed from an observer in another system. However, contrary to this, simultaneity is the key to GPS operations. GPS establishes that if one is using GPS, then two events happen at two different places, and are simultaneous. This is true no matter who the observer or receiver is, regardless of where the receiver is, what the status of that receiver is, and what speed it is. Thus, this is the basic operational principle of GPS, known as global simultaneity. GPS does not specifically account for the presupposed orbital velocity of the Earth around the Sun. The orbital motion is a linear speed 100 times that of Earth's rotation and would have to be accounted for in addition to Earth's daily rotation.
      The Sagnac effect is revealed in the GPS range measurement equation as an effect of an ether with respect to a stationary, non-rotating Earth.
      Source: link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-94-017-0528-8_3
      Just one source on it, many others, just touches on the general concepts of GPS, etc.
      If the reference frame being utilized is a non-inertial reference frame, that reference frame is at rest. If they use a frame at rest, then why wouldn't one simply conclude that the Earth isn't rotating to begin with?
      Of course the argument is it's, "hypothetical" because the mainstream scientific view is that the Earth moves and rotates. But they treat the frame of reference as if it's at rest.
      Thus, if the Earth was stationary, non-moving, not rotating, GPS could unequivocally absolutely function on it as we understand it.
