It's sweet and it has a long finnish, it gives you various notes of caramel, vanilla, citrus, and it's sweety sweet and the peat is wonderful. I love it! ... BTW, I added water to this (few drops) once and once only. It's perfect neat...

Ya, I want to buy another bottle soon.
Also... when it come to budget scotch... I just bought a bottle of “Highland Queen Sherry Casks finish” and I can’t wait to share it.
Its bottles like this that make me glad I started reviewing whiskies. It has made me look for more reasonably priced bottles... some horrible and some top notch for what I’ve paid.
Thanks for commenting. Let me know if you ever have questions or want to see an certain spirit reviewed... I try to keep an open mind.

This is my go to whiskey in Brazil. Compared to JW Black I think it's a little behind, but at 1/3 the price it's a winner. Talisker 10 costs 9x more here, and Laphroiag 10 cost well over 10x more, so when I get one of those, I strech then pouring a dash on a Teachers glass for a smokier dram.

I forget how spoiled I am for choice in America.
We don’t get everything shipped here but a lot of options.
I’ve started buying more American whiskies recently since Scotch has gotten higher priced due to import / export taxes, popularity / demand and Covid setbacks...
I’m waiting for people to get bored of Scotch and maybe the price will drop... but with our world population expanding... I think Scotland has their work cut out for them...
      Cheers Gustavo.

I like this review for the mention of the mood and emotional reaction to tastings. Just a tip on discovering the wood used. Take a drop of the whiskey in the palm of your hand and rub your hand together and inhale the aroma. It will tell you the wood they used and if it was charred. Cheers!

Thanks for this review. I found teachers via a you tube review about a year ago. No stores carried it in syracuse, NY but a store offered to order it for me. 19.99 for a handle! I bought a bottle of JW black at the same time ($75). I’ve enjoyed 4 or 5 handles of Teachers since then. Have barely touched the JW Black...in my blind tests, I always prefer the Teachers...and can’t believe the value! My favorite scotch!

For me enjoyment factor is the most important aspect along with taste. I purchase my bottle for $15 before tax and absolutely love it. I enjoy it just as much and even more than some scotch costing 3 and 4 times as much and that is no BS. If you're OK with a little bit of Peat you absolutely cannot go wrong with this scotch. I honestly think your review is spot on! Goes to show you that you do not have to spend a whole lot of money to get quality scotch.

This is a surprisingly good blend for the price, not perfect but worth it. Its a bit watery, and the finish disappears too quick, but I did find a way to improve both. Having some salted nuts along with this drink makes the spice and mouthfeel really explode.

Ya, when I looked it up in AU a few weeks ago for you, I noticed it was sitting around $40 AU (which looks to currently be almost $29 USD). I wasn’t sure if it was accurate so I didn’t say anything.
Again. It’s not a bottle sent from the heavens... but a cheap bottle that won’t make you feel like your drinking a cheap bottle.
Again, take some time with it... really let your first pour sit in the glass to open up and maybe a few drops of water if you like (and even less water if it’s a 40% Abv bottle as they get in Britain). If it’s really hot where you are at the time, some ice might not hurt. I’ve never tried ice with it myself and I can’t remember the last time I put ice in any whiskey. However I live in Michigan which tends to be a mild climate except for a couple months. Most the time we’re looking for something to warm us up. LOL
      Cheers Vintage Time.

I think this is a fantastic scotch and I cannot believe I paid only $15 for it! I think that it is good neat but I believe it is very good with a little bit of cold water or a small Ice Cube. The water Mellows out the Pete, not that it bothers me, and brings out the sweetness even more. It is smoother with water and just a fantastic sipping whisky even for newbie. You might think I'm crazy but I enjoy this more than some scotches I have caused in three to five times more. Perhaps that was a fluke because your tastes can change at any given day but this is a must-have. I will always have a bottle in my collection and I encourage any whiskey Drinker to buy it and try it with the water. Usually I do not like water or ice with my whiskey but in this case a little does magic.

@@PSNeko ya... I agree... the flavor isn’t even noticeable to even trained people.
I was recently sent two samples of Caramel color e150 a (one made with cane sucrose and one corn syrup).
I’ll be doing a video on these soon.
I stuck a toothpick into the Sucrose and............ thought I was eating an entire piece of burnt coal...
      It’s so intense.
I added 1 drop to a glass and it looked like some of the darkest whisky I’ve ever seen.
The amount they add is minimal... except Bowmore... lol
I’ve also read that E150a is used by soft drink companies as an emulsifier (which helps hold substances together that normally wouldn’t by themselves).
Which might explain why even some Non Chill filtered / high ABV% whiskies might not show much cloudiness / Scotch mist...

One of the best deals if not the best deal in scotch or any whisky for that matter. It literally tastes like a young Johnnie Walker Black....except I’ll pay $38 for a 750 ml of black label and $31 for a handle of this. The quality is unmatched.
