You hit the nail on the head early in the video. I’ve been living in the south west of the US since before 2000 and the one thing I miss the absolute most, is the four seasons! You can NOT appreciate the rain until you haven’t seen a cloud in 60+ days. Life is about balance, and you know you don’t have it when you see kids running, playing and dancing in the rain as I have seen, it has a serious effect on the human psyche. I miss playing in the snow in the winter, watching everything spring to live in the spring, and swimming in the lakes and rivers in the summer. Watching everything die in the fall I’d skip but that’s just me.
Another great vlog, Alex. You make look Poland so cool and exciting that at this point the polish government should pay YOU for promoting their country👏
As a Polish New Yorker who was born in Poland and who hasn’t been back since 2007 (not by choice), I have to thank you for helping me see Poland through your eyes. I’m really hoping to finally visit Poland next year.

Widziałem parę Twoich wcześniejszych filmów i szczerze jestem pod wrażeniem postępu jeśli chodzi o Twoją wymowę w polskim. Brzmisz już naprawdę całkiem fajnie. Jeśli mógłbym coś zasugerować odnośnie wymowy właśnie,to spróbuj mówić trochę bardziej "z przodu". Nice video. I'll be visiting Poland (from the US) next summer for two months. I was there in 2019 for one month and noticed that most Polish people you pass by on the street are not outwardly friendly or do they make eye contact with you. I was always wanting to say hello or good morning, but got the feeling it was making them feel uncomfortable. I guess I'll just have to get use to that. Didn't have that issue though in the restaurants or bars last time. Loved to get your Babcia's recipe for her rosol (chicken soup). Any restaurant recommendations for authentic polish food in Warsaw that the local residents go to that's not touristy? I'll be in Warsaw from June 20th-June 24th. Distance to the restaurant is not an issue. And I'm a senior citizen, if that matters. Thank you Plexi Glass!

in order to fully appreciate Warsaw, you would have to watch a large number of feature films, docs and tv-series shot in Warsaw, since the level of 'mythologization' of the city and a number of various cultural references is enormous. at first glance Warsaw didn't seem to be that interesting. in the Ursynów district you can spot huge murals dedicated to the protagonists of popular tv-series that for uninitiated person doesn't mean anything
Asking people from Warsaw how do they like living in Poland is like asking people from Moscow how do they like living in Russia = completely inaccurate. You're from the US so you may not know that, because US is very federalized country and the quality of life is quite similar everywhere, but Poland and other post soviet countries were extremely centralized in their capitals. Thus, Warsaw is considered as a "country inside a country", because the quality of life there is much higher than in the rest of Poland. Try asking people from other, smaller cities or from the countryside how do they like living in Poland, you will get completely different answers :)
Hi Pleksi :) i like your voice, so its ok. I don't agree with the last photographer, warsaws climate is currently like any metropolies climate, especially in the centrum where i live, i feel like differences with western metropolies is being erased and is loosing its identity, only other districts seem to stay true. I will safely assume, he would like to live in any capital city, but can't stay in local cities. Also i dont agree with "opportunities", it is false, a mirage, you have big corporations here that are like anywhere in the world and they simply pay more than anywhere else in Poland. BUT. its just a few of them, few of work places, yet everyone believes in "opportunities" that end up being a rats race for them. "Sorry we have chosen a best one out of a thousand for this job, why dont you try that low wages job behind the corner? oh you dont like that low wage? don't worry, i have one of thousands of immigrants happy to take it, because he doesn't know any better and we cane abuse that without rising any wages". Sorry for the rant, but as a sociologist, that has lives 8 years in a foreign capitals, i must say, this is a fairy tale what he is speaking of.
The centre of Warsaw is not "Warsaw," but only its business and commercial centre. And you don't know this city at all. As the guy in the film said - Warsaw is its districts and their specificity, veeery very different, still preserved despite the passage of time. With their atmosphere, theatres, nightlife, history, symbols, stories, inhabitants, places. You don't know anything about Warsaw, you don't know the people, you don't understand it and you don't know what's going on in it. "You were in the ass and you saw shit" - as the old Warsaw saying goes.
@@alh6255 woah think i have stepped on your foot or something. I was born here and except 8 years i was here for 23 years and since 3 i live in that city center where my grandparents lived. Centre was like any district, it had homes, real living space, more trees and greenery, more sun. Now you have skycrappers replacing it all, and only few homes remain where temporary rents reside. This is not a living dostrict. Its only business and entertainment, its shallow and dead, contrary to how you dress it in words. Out of the entire entertainment im only glad live theaters stayed. There are only handfull of real inhabitants who live here, everyone else only comes here because they have to go to work or concentrated entertainment. Also, i have not said that districts dont differ from each other, the business center could have been built west of New Bemowo.
In your Polish, you like to overuse an expression: "przychodźić do Polski" which literally means "come to Poland" on foot. How about using an expression "przeprowadźić sie do Polski" - "move to Poland"? I enjoyed watching your video - thank you!
