    Good video. Just replaced mine today. Easiest way was to remove steering shaft, fender well. Have more room to work. Take tire off and put on jack stands. Then use floor jack under oil pan with 2x4 in between to lift motor. Easy access to 15mm bolts. Was hard as shit at first but got it finally. Shop wanted 2800 to replace both. Parts were $89 ea at oreilleys.

    Great video, thanks Willie! I've decided to let a shop install new motor mounts on my 2009 Tahoe. That job exceeds my capabilities!

    Hey Willy just did all three, the transmission mount you don't have to remove cross member just loosen the 1 15mm nut in the middle of cross member hole and jack transmission up to reveal the other two that are long but doable. Good job sir.

    Thank you for the video.. question..What were the symptoms that led you to the motor mount?

    • @DIYWilly
      @DIYWilly  6 місяців тому +1

      Hello Jen, The truck would make a deep thumping sound under acceleration from a stop. This noise was caused by the too much engine movement. It’s kinda hard to diagnose but you need to lift the engine slightly and watch the mounts. Thanks for watching!!

    I was told today my left mount is broken. Anyone happen to have the correct part numbers for AC DELCO

    • @DIYWilly
      @DIYWilly  Місяць тому +1

      Here is the part number from my video
      GM 15854940
      That number is for both I believe.
      Good luck

    Good stuff Willy. Motor mounts on this trucks take time but patience. On the trans mount you don’t have to take off the middle crossmember just loosen the bolts and lift the trans. Go with poly mounts.

    The exhaust can be pushed upwards at those bolts and the bolts will slide right out. You can also take that middle nut off and jack the transmission up and take the other two bolts off and change it that way too.

    I did the drivers side on mine. Which side is harder to do?

    • @DIYWilly
      @DIYWilly  3 роки тому +1

      You did the easy one. The left side or passenger was the most difficult in my opinion. Mush easier if you take the mount apart though

    Hello did you feel like a thump noise on take off ?

    • @DIYWilly
      @DIYWilly  Рік тому +1

      Hello Abraham, Yes there was definitely a thump noise at take off. I first thought it was a bushing in the rear springs cause sounded like it was coming from the back. But as you see in the video both mounts were broke causing the engine to lift under load. Thanks for watching!!

    • @abrahamreyes3340
      @abrahamreyes3340 Рік тому +1

      @@DIYWilly I'm still confused at mine because it's a thump noise when going to a stop or when taking off
      I used to think it was my rotors warped so I swapped them out . Was the thump constantly or just sometimes ?
      My engine also is starting to twist when I go from d to reverse

    • @DIYWilly
      @DIYWilly  Рік тому +1

      @@abrahamreyes3340 From what you have described I would say you engine mounts are broke. Try lifting up on the engine carefully and see if it lifts up with a well placed Jack or pry bar. Can’t stress enough be careful how you leverage things not to brake them and cause other serious problems.

    shouldve used another swivel on each end of the shortest extension, then that short extension with swivels on each end holds the socket

    Those motor mounts break all the time do yourself a favor order the solid motor mounts from Summit for $339 before tax and shipping you will never have to do it again I just changed mine yesterday and now I'm about to put long tube headers on it I had my stock manifolds off which made my motor mounts a little bit easier but it was still a pain in the butt thanks for reading

    • @DIYWilly
      @DIYWilly  2 роки тому +1

      I know they break often. I will do something different next time. I would also like the headers on my truck.
