IF YOU HAVE A DOOR PRE 1990, the rosette usually have to be twisted off the handle (turned to come off)

Theres a poke hole, but no spring, it just seems to be solid at the end of the poke hole.
How to proceed ?

It turned out that it needed a tiny Allen (or may have been a star) driver, to turn it. My son had the right tool for it. It’s probably supplied in the original packaging but I didn’t have it. Paper clip or anything else that tries to poke it would not work.

Mine had to be unscrewed.

Mine had to be gently pried off with a flat screwdriver head
