- Each week on THE SNEIDER CUT, Collider's senior film reporter Jeff Sneider pulls back the curtain on the business of Hollywood. For his 34th episode, he weighs in on The Snyder Cut, which will debut on HBO Max in 2021 now that Warner Bros. has decided to give Zack Snyder tens of millions of dollars to finish his vision for Justice League, placating thousands of DC fans in the process.
Jeff also discusses Sony's Marvel moves this week with Madame Web and Jackpot movies reportedly moving forward, as well as a pair of new projects from producer Michael Bay, and Mike De Luca's aggressive revamp of MGM, which hopped into business with Lord and Miller this week along with director David Robert Mitchell and producer Christine Vachon.
Finally, Jeff talks about Adam Sandler's latest Netflix movie, Variety's report that the Academy is considering delaying the Oscars, John Krasinski's sellout move regarding Some Good News, and the new trailer for Christopher Nolan's Tenet, which is still slated for July 17. @@darthkai8242 🙄1)we knew it was futher from the assembly cut stage but never reached the final stage either Snyder left the movie in March no movie ever gets completed six months in advance but the soundtrack and everything was already done 2) pretty sure Snyder only added one scene which took three days to shoot and a four hour movie has 70 million dollars as budget is pretty standard endgame for literally half the VFX and three hours runtime had a budget of 400 million dollars but yes definitely Snyder used an entire year to reshoot that too in the middle of a fricking pandemic 3) pretty sure when someone says a cut it means director's desired version it doesn't mean it's completely done it means get it completed and release it for example Donner cut of Superman 2 these ppl said it didn't exist like at all there is a difference also btw if u see a Joss Whedon shot just have enough brain to know Snyder shot it 🙄🙄and it took seven months that is pretty sure the amount of time he needed to complete the movie and release in November 2017 he was on time and on budget Whedon literally wasted 100 million dollars and four years of dc fans' time btw a longer cut exists too 😛😛

Yes, the special effects were not to satisfaction enough to really release it. But there is a cut, assembled scenes. How do we know? PEOPLE HAVE SEEN IT! Zack shows executive THE SNYDER CUT. Just cuz he wants to add a bit more and finish touch up the special effects where they are good to like his other movies doesn't mean there isn't an assembled cut.

Seeing the workprint of x-men origins: Wolverine should be a prerequisite for saying anything about what is and isn’t a cut. That shit is only very cosmetically different from the theatrically released film. Justice league got well beyond the workprint stage.
He has a 4 plus hour cut of Batman v Superman too and they shot many many more hours of footage. That’s just how he works. He starts with a cut(all the scenes in order with initial in-scene and scene-to-scene edits) of that length.

Extraction looked like a major theatrical looking movie people would have seen in theatres. Triple 9 was defenitely a movie I would seen in a theatre. The second best movie Affleck did since The Accountant.

Let me just share my views on this Snyder Cut, yes there can be a risk that fans calling out for a certain movie or thing to be done differently or their way can be riskay, because once they get it their way, they wont stop and start calling for a cut of this and that, more and more. No big movie studios should not do EXACTLY EVERYTHING what fans wants all the time.
At sametime even you guys at Collider have to acknowledge the "quality" of movie franchises today has totally gone down the pan, its dropped off so bad, its became very poor. Look at the state of the Terminator franchise, Ghostbusters, Star Wars.
This is the trouble here that if it wasnt for all these franchises and so many more out there getting all political, and ceasing to be great like they used to be, if things had not gotten so bad as they have now today, you would have never ended up with such a large percentage of fans out there crying out for somekind of change.
And the "media" have alot to answer for this too, cause they pick up on the views of fanbases and they stir the shit-storm, its the media outlets and articles that have also spread things and created this snowball effect thats gotten around in the form of this "Snyder Cut".
