With Duke. WHen you are holding the baby...Don't try to keep him away...Let him lay at your feet, or beside you on the couch, while you are holding baby...LEt him be a part of the baby too. He may surprise you abd be very protective of the baby. He may always want to be near it.

My husband was born on the side of the road in Spartanburg SC on a snowy Christmas morning. My husband was my mother-in-law's 6th child. They loaded the kids (4 children, the child before my husband was still born) in the car and got stuck in the snow a few yards down from their house. His father walked back to the house with the kids to call an ambulance and when he got back my husband had been born. They wrapped my husband up in his dad's shirt and waited for the ambulance to come get to them. Congratulations on your sweet baby. I know you are going to be great parents! ......By the way my husband ended up being one of 8.
My advice to you is don’t wake the baby up to feed bc they’ll let you know when they’re ready to eat. If you start, they’ll never sleep over night bc they’ll be up on schedule and that will go on until toddler age. I tried with my 1st and OMG it was horrible. My grandmother told me never wake a sleeping baby and with my other 2 they let me know. My boys listen to me and their wives were listening to everyone and they convinced them not to wake them up and they all thanked me for pushing it bc it’s already hard having to wake up all threw the night and breastfeeding. Congratulations and I’m so happy for y’all.
I agree with this! I did the same with my first. Followed my pediatricians advice to wake our baby every three hours, and it took forever to get her to sleep through the night. With our second and third, I followed my MIL’s advice who always told us to let them sleep and feed them when they wake themselves, as long as their on the right track with growth. My last two did so well with sleep right from the beginning. Congratulations to you both! Hope this is helpful.
that totally depends on the baby's birth weight.... if above 5 lbs there should be no issues, but below 5 lbs babies do need to be woken up to eat
Biggest piece of advice: tell yourself your due date is 2 weeks later. Most states allow you to go up to 42 weeks pregnant but then you have to get induced then. If you tell yourself your due date is at 42 weeks, any time the baby comes before then is a nice surprise!
I had convinced myself that i was going to give birth around 38 weeks with my first. I was the first mama in my blood line on both sides of my family in 4 generations to go past 39 weeks, much less make it to my due date, much less go past my due date. I cried. A lot 😂 so with my second, i told myself my due date was my 42 week date and she came at 41wk + 6 days but i didn’t cry over going that late because i had already told myself that, that was “early”
I was given one piece of advice when i had my first, and it was: listen to everyone's advice, then do what you feel in your heart is the right thing. I had 3 in less than 3 years, no twins, and i followed that advice with all of them. They are now 30,30&32, and they are so close and i am extremely close to each of them

I couldn't agree more with this comment. Because I was told the same thing. Sleep while baby sleep. Take advice don't be afraid to ask for help when you need and it's okay to say that ýou need to take a 5 minute breaks when you're feeling a bit overwhelmed and that's ok it happens to the best of us ❤
Trouble sleeping: eat more protein (eggs and meat) and veggies. It sounds like you eat a lot of carbs, and they turn into sugar in your body. Do you want your baby to develop with a diet of sugar?
I was given the same advice. Just tell whoever is giving the advantage thank you I will take that into consideration but then do whatever you feel in your heart is right. Also take advantage of the nurses if you are doing a hospital birth (haven't watched yet so not sure hospital or home birth) I know you won't want to be away from your baby but get the rest while you can. Your baby will be perfect with the nurses may even get an extra bath.

I have 6 children. 4 biological and 2 adopted. I have 3 sweet babies in heaven also. ❤
When baby comes home don’t try to be quiet around them, just keep noise the same as usual. So baby will be used to noise and not wake up to normal sounds in your home
When you are still - baby is active. When you are moving around - you are rocking them to sleep! You will SO miss the kicking once baby is born.

When my son was born, when we brought him home, he brought treats from him to the dogs. They loved him from second one. 10 years later, he's still their favorite person in the universe.

The best advice with kids I was ever given was to enjoy every moment. The good, the bad, and even the ugly. Always remember they will only be this age once and that most stages are phases so take a deep breath pray for guidance and remember this too shall pass.
This was so fun! It would be adorable if Baby Bates was born on Lawson's birthday.
Loss teaches you about your faith your love for each other and it teaches you about life...how precious it is.

I was thinking a boy and she called the baby as he a few times.
Yet she referred to the baby as a she, when she was talking about how “she” started kicking very early.
It is a boy. They kept saying he and him in a video before they edited it.

Some people say either gender so they’re not saying “it” and it can make the journey seem more real. However pregnancy brain can accidentally slip up😅😂😂
I have been married for 35 years to my wonderful husband. We had a camper for weekend and vacation trips. We had a playpen in the camper. Whatever you enjoy you make it work. It was some of the best memories!

The best advice I ever got was from my mother, she said everyone is going to give you all kinds of advice, and the best thing you can do with that is take it in one ear mule it around and decide if it is something you want to consider, if not let it go out the other, try what you want and go from there.
I am 31 weeks now and my biggest struggle was Hyperemisis Gravidarum in 1 at tri & beginning of 2nd. I had it with my 3rd & lost 20 lbs, but with this one, it was a whole other level. It got down right scary cause we don’t have insurance and couldn’t afford to go get IV (not able to drink water for 4 months), but Jesus. He met me in the biggest most profound way in securing my hope in Him like I have never before. The most beautiful sunsets come after the rain, or most beautiful rainbows come after the storms.❤
I swear Tiffany said she. When talking about how much the baby moves. I rewound several times, and listened again and again, and I swear she said she.

To prep for the possibility of having two genders in one nursery, you can use neutral colours for the base (furniture, walls, etc.) but decorate with your colour of choice with things that can be easily changed out later (blankets, wall hangings, and such).
You can see the loss of Baby Hope is still very raw for Tiffany. Rainbow baby Bates is on the way!!🙏🏻🌈♥️

- Tiff, you just do what you want/need. ❤ Sometimes there’s a lot of pressure put on you by family, friends or doctors.
- I have 4 kids and I was induced with all 4. Some by choice, some for health reasons.
I breastfed 2 kids, but not the other 2.
I just had to do what worked for me & my family at the time.. and everyone’s healthy!
I never let anyone pressure me into something I didn’t feel comfortable with.
Ps- pregnancy insomnia was a killer for me every time 😭🥱

My mom was pregnant with one of my brothers. She kept going to her doctor saying she thought it was time and he kept saying not yet. By the time she was ready, she didn't make it to the birthing center she had planned to go to. Her mom and grandmother were with her and helped deliver my brother on the side of the highway.

Bringing baby home to a dog, boundaries are so important. Don't be surprised if you hate the dog suddenly, it's very commom post partum. Setting spacial boundaries before baby comes home helps the adjustment. Dog can smell baby across the room. There is no rush to introduce them/let them touch. And only if dog is very calm. Dog needs to know you are boss, baby is an extention of you. So baby is boss, not an equal, or inferior.
Seems extra, but is such an important foundation. I love my dog so much, I never want to have to make a difficult decision if something went very wrong. Things can go so wrong so fast with jealous dogs and little kids
