I think I’ve read an article about him once where he said that his dad coached him in his youth and he taught him a shakehand grip. Only much later did he switch to a penhold grip, which seems to be rather unusual. Anyway, I’m wondering if it may be an advantage that most players nowadays rarely face-off against someone with a penhold grip and are not used to the peculiarities. Be that as it may, I think it’s great to see players with penhold grip succeed. More variety is always good. And the penhold grip has a kind of elegance which is nice to watch.
I think is hella beneficial for penholders in Europe (especially when you reach the top level like Dang or Felix) because you kinda have to find your way through to beat others since there aren't many top class penhold coaches, therefore you develop your own style of play and it comes as a surprise for your opponent
I don't think it's a matter of who's better or what. Actually, I feel the more RPB we have, the more diversity in game there will be, and this is good for both audience and players.
He is a different type of penhold, his backhand action seems to be quicker and at a more acute angle than Wang Hao. His consistency on the backhand has proven decisive in most matches.
Precise attacking game. Good short play feeling, sharp forehand, deadly counter attacks and surprisingly strong penholder backhand. Dang Qui is a promising Player for Top Level Tabletennis.
Dang Qiu in contrast to Ma Lin, Wang Hao, Xu Xin does not have a weakness on the backhand. Dang Qiu grew up with the attacking backhand and it looks very natural when he is playing it. Wang Hao, Ma Lin tend to block with fh side when attacked to their backhand. Dang Can block with backhand side and can counter loop on this side very naturally, like shakehanders. His stance is also much more similar to shakehanders because of this. His performance throughout the EM was astonishing. I have never heard anything about Dang Qiu before, it was really impressive.
Wang Hao is the standard. The reason Ma Lin and Xin Xu developed their RPB Dang Qui is good and I'm happy for him. But last month he lost to Ma Long in the world team championships. As long as he stays out of the Chinese focus and plays European competition he will flourish.
@@PianistsRavel but sometime he have to participate against chinise ,did you notice another kid name felix leburn from france have good pen hold rpb in future it will tell how far he will go.
I don't think he wants to go that route. Xu Xin forehand loop is his money shot. Wang was his RPB. His style is closer to Wang Hao. If he can start beating the Chinese A team than comparisons will be justified.
What's wrong with your service? lost points a few times. Que error cometió en los servicios? Perdió varios puntos con el servicio pero no se logra identificar el problema

Xu Xin is the forever champion for penhold lovers. The best entertainer and the best ambassador ever.
Wang hao

His style is closer to Wang Hao than to Xu Xin. Backhand dominant close to table play suits the new ball very well.

I think you did not watched Wang Hao's matches. He had best backhand of his generation, and he could use blocks with backhand side

Having my 09c and 05 glued on tonight.
please do a video about Dang qiu and Xue Fei / Wang Hao Grip tutorial
What is Dang Qiu equipment set up during this game?
Why does he change to the shake hand grip every time a point is over?
to release stress from the fingers, I am a penholder and I also do this
@@longle0402agree, I’m doing so as well
Not comparable with Xu Xin yet !

The ball was being hidden as it passed behind his head
should be “邱党” rather than “当秋” or “秋当”
Should be just Dang Qiu!

if you afree on the names like Ma Long, Wang Hao, Ma lin, Zhang jike, you'd better call him Qiu Dang.
Данг очень много скрытных подач делает..
Вообще, это уже тенденцией стало.. увы...
This match against Timo Boll was very not pleasant...
best ball hider 🤣
Vợt dọc lại lên ngôi, xuất xắc
Comparable with Aleix Lebrun🔥
He's an amazing penholder player, but a horrible service cheater.
