Masses of people in all Earth's continents are fans of Dimash. He is popular and famous all over the World. The ones who don't know him are people in the western popular music industry....singers, songwriters, etc. have no idea who he is. If they did he would truly be well known everywhere. I think he is handling his career the way he wants and isn't thinking being in the Billboard charts or whatever is considered successful over here. But that's just speculation in my part. I do hope he gets the recognition he deserves from his fellow entertainers. He deserves it.
Dimash is beyond mainstream. Dimash is not owned by anyone. He doesnt need big companies to suck the life blood out of his soul and creativity. Since they cant make money off him, mainstream music business doesnt know what to do with Dimash. Hes beyond their mediocre scope. Hes got sold out concerts and his album sold out in 30 min.
Dimash is like a fine wine. You savor the essence. Unlike fast food you gobble down.
Believe me, the industry artists know of him. You see them trying to imitate him all the time. And many have even cleaned up their act. Dimash has had a definite affect on the direction of music.

There’s a joke amongst Dears (fans), that this performance began in Mandarin, continued in Italian, and ended in Alien, lol!
Dimash says that singing is a sport and that he needs to train every day to stay in peak fitness. If he is in a hotel he swims every day and uses the gym. It is like being an athelete. The voice has to always be in training too. He says that if he took a week or two off it would be hard to get back to singing. He does not want to get into that habit.
He sings a minimum of 3 hrs practice a day, and if in the studio it can be up to 10 hrs. His live concerts last 3 - 4 hrs and in many songs he dances at the same time as singing. He arranges it so that dancing is followed by some songs that are not so active, to give himself rest periods for his body. He also uses video backdrops, projection screens and performances by other artists to entertain the audience between his sets, particularly when he goes off stage to change costumes. Everything has to be done so that he can continue the concert for the full amount of time and give of his best to the audience. It is careful choreography and time management, just as you would imagine for such a professional.
His concerts are incredible. If you ever get a chance to go to one don't hesitate!

Todos los concursantes son artitas consagrados, lo querían mucho, le decían,pequeño hermano importado, todos eran chinos menos Dimash, no ganó el concurso, debido a que ningún extranjero podía ganar el concurso, si obtuvo un premio, creo que fue a la revelación, disculpas si esto no es correcto. I think many of us know by now that mainstream music industry only promotes artists who are completely submissive to the record industries. Dimash doesn't do that. In addition, he is a real artist and not a compliant popcorn artist. It has intrinsic values that disturb the shareholders. - Many people have become so accustomed to music without "real music" that they are overwhelmed by a requirement of sounds. But there are others. 😄 There is a better version by Dimash of "Diva Dance" (movie 5th element) Bastau 2017.
He would never ever mocking anybody. And especially not other artists. This is not in his nature. And he sings no mainstream. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how.
Confessa and Diva Dance was the 12th performance from The Singer competition in China in 2017. Confessa is an Italian song written by Adriano Celentano. He is a famous Italian singer. Beautiful song❤️ and there he shows his lower range. He begins here in Mandarin, then continues in Italian.
Obviously you didn’t know the movie The 5th Element with Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich and Gary Oldman. This song was written by Eric Serra for an alien opera singer in this movie and was not considered singable for a human voice. Parts of it were computer generated. There a some female singer who performed this song, but in my opinion not as precise as Dimash. And he is a male!
Please react to the Diva Dance from his Bastau concert. He performed this song on his first solo concert in Kazakhstan called Bastau in 2017. It was after he finished The Singer competition in which he also performed Confessa and the Diva Dance. The Bastau version is short but much better. He was much more relaxed there because it was his concert and no competition. What fascinates me the most is, that he sang this song in his concert where he had already been on stage for almost 2 hours. Just unbelievabel🤯. He worked so hard for this terrific concert. I was scared at first when I saw him. He was so terribly thin.
You can react this song with another awesome version of Diva Dance together because it is really short (1.42 minutes). Some other reactors do. There are also more little vocal-surprises in this second video.
It’s called Drunken Concubine and it is from the Shanghai Spring Festival Gala in China on January 25th, 2020. He sings with a great Chinese Opera singer who usually plays a female in classic Peking opera Li Yugang. That's why he's trained to sing so high. This nasal singing is traditional and he is a very famous singer in China. The two harmonize so well together. It’s really fantastic. I love it and I’m sure you will like it, too🥰.

People have said that the D8 only was heard live on Unforgettable Day. The whistle note here was slightly lower, apparently. I don’t know myself. Still masterful though.plus he does vocal fry, so both extremes covered. I love the Drunken Concubine duet.

Dimash can flex as much as he wants. No one can dethrone him as the vocal king.
He's not mainstream because he refuses to sell his soul and control of his music and career to the western music industry.
It doesn't matter though as he's still acquired over 10 million fans worldwide including China. His subscribers on UA-cam are growing at the rate of 10,000 every 15 days on average.
He's just about to release a collaboration with DJ Burak Yeter that is taking the summer festivals by storm already and hopefully should play a big part in giving him more exposure in the west.

Did you notice that he started Confessa in Chinese because of the Chinese audience, but then went into Italian in the 2nd verse. I'm so glad you mentioned the fact that his voice is not affected by his movements on stage, as he is the same in his live stage performances. You can hear his breathlessness in-between songs but not during the song! His voice control is just unbelievable! He runs across the stage at times or dances during a song but when he's singing, you don't hear that!!!

Yes, this is from the Chinese show, "The Singer." Unlike most, maybe all TV singing contests in the world, the contestants had to be established talents who were invited to come. No auditions, no judges giving their opinions. The live audience voted for who did best each week. I think we'll be seeing more of Dimash soon. He's been meeting with people in Los Angeles. And his Chinese fan club paid for video billboards of him in Times Square, NYC.
