That was a cute story. When I met my husband 39 years ago we were in the same situation. Back then there were no cell phone to help. I had one semester of high school Spanish. Back then he bought a speak and spell which we still have to this day as a recuerdo. Here we are now years later with two beautiful sons and 3 wonderful grandchildren. 💜

Omg this is so true!! When I get mad at hubby, I yell at him in Spanish, and he's like, "Don't call me an idioto"! I'm like, you mean idiota😅
My husband is also from Mexico and I thought his English was good but he admitted after we were married that much of the time he didn't know what I was saying so he just smiled and agreed. My Spanish was less than minimal at the time but yet love transcends any language barrier. We have now been married more than 20 years. I am still learning Spanish and my husband's English has become perfect. Best wishes to you both.

I met mine in 2003.... married in 2007, now 2 kids later 13 yr. old Daughter and a 9 yr. old Son... He is my Gift from GOD!! Men like that are out there...

@@danpas7260 All I know is what I do myself... Treat him with respect, learn all I can about his culture and build a strong family together & a future.... He is Blessed with so much and so am I... In a short amount of time we have built so much together and I have proved to him that I want the very best for him.. At 49 he can almost retire, I think that says a lot about how much I sacrifice as a woman that lives in a country were lots of woman just want to sit back and HAVE IT ALL and SHOW OFF... all I want is for him to have an easy retirement, Living his Best Life...

My husband is from Aguascalientes and his family lives there and doesn't speak English. My Spanish is not good enough to communicate with them without the translator. Thankfully my husband is bilingual :) I could so relate to this video!

I'm married to a Mexican and his English has improved greatly since we have been married, but my Spanish sadly has not. We both wish our kids were bilingual but so far they only speak what momma speaks. This was a very encouraging video. I feel like I can relate to your family and situation so much. Thank you for sharing your story with us!

I know what helped me was asking others that are bilingual what certain words mean. You got this

I have the same issue. My husband's English has become perfect but my Spanish is still a struggle. I hope it improves once we retire in Mexico.
Try only speaking Spanish when your husband is home it helps y’all practice and he can help you when you mess up a word and your kids will pick up on it. Also if they tell you something in English answer them in Spanish or tell your husband to answer them in Spanish that helps them learn faster

Fidel has definitely come a long way from his first videos. He was so camera shy and didn't speak much, now he is confident, speaks a lot more and even shows some PDA.

I have almost a similar story. I'm Mexican American but never spoke Spanish because my Dad wanted to learn English. But growing up I met my husband who was born in Mexico. I didn't speak much Spanish and he didn't speak English. It was difficult in the beginning also but we were married for 23 years. Sadly he passed away in January 2021 but we had a wonderful marriage. I pray you both have a wonderful life together

My husband and I have been together for a little over seven years now when we first met it was love at first sight I didn’t know any Spanish and he didn’t know any English we use the translator on the phone for the first 7 to 8 monthsNow he speaks some English and I speak a little Spanish there is a language barrier sometimes but we make it work we’re currently in the process of getting his papers we’re at the last step we’re waiting for an appointment in cuidad Juarez I’m just gonna say I love watching your videos it makes me less scared if we have to move to Mexico
You guys remind me of my aunt and uncle. However my aunt came to live in the USA. My uncle never learned how to speak Spanish, very very little anyways. My aunt learned English, not 100% fluent in English but definitely better than my uncle Spanish. Well actually much much better. One day our uncle telling us how he met our aunt. It was through the newspaper personal adds. He said I went over to Maria’s village and brought her over here. God rest his soul! My sister and I found this hilarious! I guess made us imagine my aunt dressed as a Native American and him as a cowboy. In reality my family from Dad’s side are mixed, French, Spanish, German, and Native North American. They originated from the Sonoran Desert right at the border and my aunt actually looks more white than native. I guess it’s the reason we thought it was so funny! My uncle looked like those kind of dirty hippies, he was In The air force for many yrs. Also fought in Vietnam was a veteran. I’m talking about the 1960s 70s. When he met my aunt and never separated. Not even when my uncle had Alzheimer’s disease, my aunt took care of him for yrs until he passed away. He used to say “women like Maria do not exist anymore.” I would say to my uncle, that very few exist but they still do ( because of you guerita).
Love this, I just found your beautiful family from Tiktok. My husband is also Mexican, we are going to be celebrating 26 years of marriage & 29 years together. When we first started dating he knew only a few words & I knew no spanish. Now he is basically fluent & I understand more than I can say. I definitely struggle with actually speaking. Your family is beautiful & have encouraged us to build in Mexico now that our 4 kids are becoming adults & starting their adult lives. (we have also dealt with immigration & understand the struggle/stress involved) Can't wait to follow your family & learn more. ❤️

I think it’s great that you guys worked so hard to understand each other. Especially since Fidel speaks extremely fast Español, which I know in your TikTok’s you had said was pretty standard for people to speak that fast in the region where’s he’s from. I speak a little Español, but not a lot. It would take me a long time to be able to understand someone like Fidel because he speaks so fast, but I guess that would be part of the fun in learning language with that extra challenge. ❤️🥰

Actually Fidel speak kinda slow, some Spanish speakers are really fast. More than Fidel for sure! I'm one of those. 😅😅😅
