I have been coming to Mexico, mainly Acapulco since 1962. I do speak Spanish as a second language. I moved permanently to Queretaro, Mexico on 11-2-2021 at 79
. I moved because of the deadly crimes and the rents, utilities etc. taking almost all of my retirement income. It is safer, beautiful and cleaner here, and $850 per month less expensive.
There is not any shortage or limits on food, and I use home delivery, as I did in the USA
. I use Amazon-Mexico to order the foods, that i miss from the USA, and are not sold here. Grits, Louisiana hot sauce, Hormel Beef tamales, Libby's Corn Beef hash, Red chili flakes, and Campbell's chicken noodle soup.. Pork is all that I do not eat, and I cook 99% of my food.
Butterball has the best turkey bacon! The earthquakes were the deal breakers for Acapulco, but I will always love her.
Grilled Red Snapper and Pollo Felez are my favorite foods, that I order for take out.
My apartment has a fantastic view of all of Queretaro, all utilities and WiFi, maid service, and 100% furnished with everything, and a beloved king size bed, like at home.
I am working on my temp retirement visa, since I did get 180 days, but at this age, I do not want to do visa runs, and never know how many days I will get. It is better, if you can to get the temp retirement visa.
God bless the world, and please behave. Hands are for helping and not hurting. Put a d before anger, and you get deadly danger. Do not argue! No one can ride your back, unless you bend over. Only the strong survives. Treat everyone, the way you want to be treated. Karma never loses an address, and we will reap what we have sown.
    DO THE RIGHT THING ALWAYS!

Don't worry, a lot of Mexicans speak good English. But, to be fair, not all like to talk to "some tourists" because we understand the giggling about the US being significantly richer than us and the obvious consequences of that economic fact. Indeed, Mexico is not an advanced society. However, as a member of the G20 is a developed country like most of Europe. The real question should be, why most of the people on planet earth can't escape poverty? A country might be richer than others, but that does not mean that in that way is better or worse (Like your family in law). Nevertheless, don't forget that you're no longer a tourist!

I had my first child in México, natural no option for epidural 28 years ago, it was in shock of how quick it was, my second child i had in U.S.A and I hate it how they are constantly trying to push for epidural or to induce the birth, they want to keep you in a bed attached to a bunch a monitors, I also had my child with in 3 hours of arrival, I can't complain I had good experience and my kids are very healthy..
Thank you for sharing your experience.

I loved your beautiful birthing experience. I lived in Mexico for 8 years of my marriage in Zacatecas. I had a miscarriage and sadly it was the most horrific experience. I didn’t like the hospital or the staff. I do have four beautiful daughters but all were born in the states. We do go visit regularly almost every year. Only one daughter goes with us now. Due to two of my daughters are married and one has a career so difficult to get vacations at the same time. I really really love your experience married to your husband Fidel. And your boys are beautiful. Praying everything goes well for you and your family. Keep up the beautiful stories and GOD bless your marriage.

Happy Mother’s Day! You are a great mother and wonderful wife. Your story makes me admire you a lot; following your husband and building a great family life in Mexico. An example of resilience, true love and having a kind soul.
I can absolutely relate to your birth story in mexico; I couldn’t get an epidural either because it was too late when the anesthesiologist arrived. And I remember so well the doctor telling me “you can do it, millons of women give birth everyday, you can do it also”...... I just thought that yeah, like it is a competition or what!?! The worst pain of my life, but followed by the greatest joy of my life as soon as I saw my healthy beautiful baby boy.

You were so lucky to have a good experience in Mexico. I am from Mexico and I had my first baby there, it was a horrific experience it was meant to be a c section and my baby and I almost died, they literally pull the baby out of me, that kept me from not getting pregnant again for 15 years 🤣🤣. Then I got pregnant in USA and had an awesome experience (of course a c section).

Hi @laguerita Chanel I have a very extensive story ! I’ll give a quick summary I grew up in the states was brought here as a baby I knew no other life other than here. As I got to my adolescent years. I was a very rebellious young lady. Long story short I became pregnant as a teen and ended up in Mexico. I didn’t know how complex the immigration system was. I thought it was easy to get back because my dad was a US citizen however, I did not have a legal status yet at the time I was waiting on my priority date, which I didn’t know how all that worked. Long story short. I ended stuck in Mexico, and when I arrived shortly after I realized I was pregnant. I lived in a very small town, more like a ranch style town where everybody knew each other. And yes, the birthing system is totally different for me. At least it was comfort wise was way more comfortable here like you said, they put us on a hard surface to give birth, which is not comfortable and the nurturing all altogether it was more like you were just a number. I was initially going to give birth at a bigger hospital. We went there when I was just barely going into labor I didn’t like the atmosphere there was a huge line of people waiting to be seen by the doctor. I went into the bathrooms and they were disgusting so we opted to give birth in town and paid the local Doctor privately And gave birth inside of his clinic. I did not have any family with me, so that was really hard and I also was a young teenager, and I did not have the luxury of being able to choose to have an epidural at the time that was not available and it was only used for emergency bases, if the mom was in severe distress and being a small town with the private doctor, he did not have it available also and there was no anesthesiologist on call. There is so much more that I could share though about living in Mexico. Definitely more of a slower pace living the culture and customs are the things I miss most unfortunately I was in an abusive relationship that I needed saving from . I knew how to do nothing basically and learn how to make tortillas from scratch from cooking them nixtamal harvesting, corn beans, etc. washing by hand.so many things that were new to me. Another thing is that when women get birth in that town, they take you atole and tortillas or home cooked things that they believe help heal you . They don’t let you do very much while your healing. And are very protective of newborn babies . Anyway I hope you get to read this please reach out if you want to expand further on this .

I had my last baby here in Mexico and trust me it's a very big difference in the doctor's appointments, the hospital and the whole delivery experience... The cost here in Guanajuato I paid $15,500 pesos (like $815 dollars) for a C-section and getting my tubes tied...

Good to hear all went well. My question is about diet in US vs Mexico. It seems from the videos of your family, your diets are healthier in Mexico. Please discuss that and if you feel you got to enjoy all your "cravings". God bless the beautiful familia.

Me gusta verlo pues son muy activo
    Unidos
