Listen to the overwhelming sound of Chicharras in this grand barranca of La Sierra Madre Sur de Mexico in the State of Oaxaca on Alto Mixteco indigenous land. It is said that the Chicharras (similar to Cicadidae) cry for and beckon the arrival of the first rain.
April is the end of the dry season and the most intense heat i've ever felt in my life. It was maybe 95*F or 35*C at 7:55am in this video
LTDF was just over 500 miles and 45,000 feet of elevation gain (804km & 13777m). I completed the race in 3 days (69 hours elapsed?), and finished 10th place. By far the hardest thing i've ever done on a bike. Hands down.
