  • Shaheen Bhatt has become the ambassador of MTV Question Mark and on the sidelines of the same, Shaheen joined our host Nayandeep Rakshit for a candid chat only on Bollywood Bubble's XtraOrdinary You. In this candid chat, Shaheen discussed about battling depression and heartbreak, how she's coped up with the troubled times since she was 12, and why family's support helped her through all of it. She admits that she didn't initially accept it and took her 5 years to come out to her family. She also discusses her privilege and how many have targeted her and the family because of their family ties. Not just that, she discusses the love she has for Alia Bhatt, and how she was crying inconsolably at her wedding with Ranbir Kapoor. Watch the full interview here.

Loved how she made it clear there was nothing wrong with her, no family issue, no bullying , no financial problems.. Nothing.. Still she was going through shit.. And this is very common and people don't acknowledge it at all but it happens

I commend Shaheen for her resilience in this lifelong battle. I understand what she has been through, as I am a survivor of the living hell called 'clinical depression.' People often mistake 'sadness' for 'depression' because the word has lost its original connotation. Unfortunately, mental health professionals sometimes overlook the importance of using the term 'clinical' before 'depression' when discussing the mental illness. Shaheen is fortunate to have been born into a privileged and intelligent family. Sending love and prayers to her from Pakistan! ❤

Nayan, bro, you seem like a nice guy but as a journalist/interviewer. It is our duty to keep the focus onto the individual we are interviewing. An interview is an opportunity for us to bring out the personality of the person or even to bring to light their veiws on numerous things. What we dont do is talk about ourselves and make the focus of the discussions ourselves with each and every question. It is highly unprofessional and makes the interview look scattered. It then becomes confusing.
I'm sure you're hurting and maybe this is your way of letting things out and i appreciate that. However, it seems to be something you do often and it takes away the attention from the person back to you. Do consider this and i hope we get to hear the persons experiences more next time. All love bro

To be honest, it is better than to listen to questions which have been asked 100 times or to get sexism (sit with hitlist) or things like that. Ive stoped watching many Interviews cause of such things, cause m fed up with ppl who think "letz make a show and copy".

Hi, I totally understand that you have commented with good intent and this is a proper feedback. I will definitely try and keep this on my mind from the next time. But actually, my interviews are more conversations. It's not a usual QnA thing. I never prepare questions and go. I do my research and let it flow. And I feel a person will always feel more comfortable to be vulnerable in front of you, if you allow them to see your vulnerable side too. That's the reason I keep my chats that waym but I still understand what you're trying to say. Thank you for this ❤

Nooow u understand! Let me give u the advice, that the audience likes "fresh air" n that each Person is different. Shaheen told about her side, he told about his side. But ya, k, the line is a bit wrong (as often) xD@@Random45901

This guy did so much prep for the interview, made those posters at the back, brought out stories from his life, and also smartly attempted to touch upon the broader spectrum of mental health. This could have been a good interview had the guest been a little bit more open and honest. I don’t think she wanted to be part of the interview

Have huge respect for this person, Shaheen Bhatt.
Getting Exposed to her book has been a turning point in my life.
It wouldn't be wrong to say that her book has literally SAVED me.
Her and two of her suggestive books have helped me to find my voice, given me refuge in most difficult times, when I was in pieces.
So clearly, 'I've Never Been (Un)Happier' means a lot, A LOT, to me.❤

Just because she is Alia bhatt sister, u are interviewing her, thats not fair. And if u really want to bring anyone for intellectual talk, there are more famous people for that who really have achieved something in life. Their journey will be more inspiring.

Dear nayan ...first of all I would like to congratulate you for taking this interview I just love to hear Mahesh ji Puja and Shaheen because I feel that they can speak out their soul so thank you for calling Shahin now let's come to talk about your insecurity of losing the loved one this is called thanatophobia dear in 2019 I lost my cousin and since then I realise that I became very insecure about my parents my husband my loved ones even my small children and I had such a strong feeling of losing somebody that I could not sleep the whole night because I used to feel that when I will wake up I will loose that person... I used to hate the nights since evening my anxiety started and it continued for around 4 to 5 months I became isolated kept on crying.. my family was not able to understand that what I was going through they all were advising me that just forget what it happened and move on but that phobia remained inside me then after 4 to 5 months there was a marriage in my familyn.. after that when I came back to my home I felt little better but yes whenever I hear anybody is dying any news of casualty of any relative or any person whom I know again that phase of insecurity triggers me... I am still searching the way how would I forget that so I can better relate myself with your condition the all we can do is we can pray to God The Almighty our Saviour he is the one who will Heal The People Like Us god bless you you are the best you make the other person very comfortable by making conversations and giving examples of your life experiences... will wait for your another interview.❤

She sounds more like achieved something by being depression rather than normalising mental health.Just want to get popular by talking on such sensitive topics. Deepika was genuine about it. She is not. Period

    • @seemonjena659
      @seemonjena659 7 місяців тому +8

Can't believe people are so insensitive. Have you even read the book she has written about her depression phase and she has went through?! No wonder it's very difficult for people to talk about depression and mental health in general coz people like you think that it's a means to get popular. Learn to be compassionate and less judgemental.

    • @septleaves8521

🤣 How does genuine and fake Deepika go together?🙄 Deeoika was not depressed, she was a drug addict and disguised it as depression then used it as a tool to ruin Ranbir Kapoor’s career, life and relationship for dumping her cheapness. Who do you know that can be well enough to be as high functioning and successful in a career that requires a lot of people interaction when they’re depressed the way she said she was? No one! That is not how depression works!

13:39 - 15:12 you took soo long to get to the point. I know u r trying to emulate KJo but please stop it. You are a professional journalist. Your point is to ask Qs & not give your personal history behind asking every question. It shows you are fearful of the person sitting in front of you and very very under confident about the Qs you have prepared to ask the person. More than KJo try taking inspiration from Anupama Chopra because her profession is similar to urs.
