  • What you need: TP55 torx socket, breaker bar, WD40
    Don't use a T55, it will strip! You need a TP55.
Spray WD40 or another thread penetrant on the underside of the bolts, sticking down under the van. Let soak. Pick out any junk from the bolt heads, you want the torx bit all the way down in the head.
    Ford van, Econoline, E150, E250, E250
Seat bench floor brackets, metal things, what size torx

Just so others know this is for a 2008+ van. I was definitely disappointed to see that all 3 seats have different bracket placement making me unable to change them around. Thanks for this video BTW.

I know, right! I had the same reaction. The 2nd and 3rd benches of a 15 passenger (4 benches) are the only ones that are interchangeable.

Thank you so much, I'm trying to do it myself to have more space.

Man I’m having a hard time. My torx do not fit into the bolts correctly. I guess I need that t55 plus

The t55 was my first investment

Did it work ok for you? I had better luck with a TP55 (the plus size)

I would have used PB blaster as it is an effective penetrating oil.

Great video! One question though, are the holes in the floor threaded such that with some Loctite the bolts will then stay in place without rattling afterwards or does one have to screw the bolts into a nut on the underside? Thanks very much.

Yes, the holes are threaded. After I removed the brackets, I put the bolts back in. No loctite is necessary, just tighten them up.

Do you know what size socket you need to remove the brackets for the seat belts? I am working on taking out the panels in the rear of my van.

I do have a few available. Shipping and handling isn't cheap so you might check local auto salvage yards first. Let me know though and we can work something out if needed.

Nope, sorry. I see them pop up on Craigslist and marketplace occasionally. You could also check local auto salvage yards.

I am! post a contact here and if you want to pickup from Littleton area they are yours. They need washing and are not in good shape but free. I have floor brackets also.
