- At Brad’s Fellowship at the Furnace, Gerrit Kamps talked me into busting up a roughly 36” diameter (probably larger!!) Ash round just before we broke for lunch! Thanks for the assist buddy, and for capturing some awesome video for us to share!
The machine featured here is the Eastonmade 12-22, and the product details are below:

Hello Mr. Ken, I watched You and the other Man split this one, IT was a beast of a round, both of You worked hard on this one, I was on the way to help but he got there first so I stayed out of the way, Fine Work Gentlemen.

Yes, indeed! It certainly is a beast. And the machine just doesn’t care! It will push just about anything through that 7-way box wedge! The model is a 12-22. Thank you for asking. Dude that machine was awful splitting that. It was just shards of wood. Does it do better on smaller stuff? Cant you take the 4 way thing off and just split it down the middle?
Not sure what “4-way thing” you’re referring to. We were using a 7-way box wedge that day and box wedges are notorious for creating slash. (Especially with larger rounds!) There was plenty of sellable wood in there also….
