By any chance can you set random times(and random scenes) before itll switch?? Be great to have say 4-5 scenes and itll randomly switch to any of them for between 30seconds and 1 min each before switching to next random scene.
Thank you! I haven't used OBS in a while but there is no Random setting, you'll just have to assign them and set times.

This is incredibly helpful. Thank you! Quick question. If I want to switch between 3 scenes that are 3 different cameras, would this be possible using ATEM mini? Or would I be better having 3 Cam cards (1 for each scene)? Or is there a better solution for automatic switching between multiple cams?
I'm not familiar with the ATEM Mini. If your camera isn't a webcam, you would need capture card for each source, if that's what you're asking.
I wonder if there's a switcher that's counts bars so it switches sync with music. That's why I keep using the elgato switcher. Imagine a light guy at the club. Same thing with the graphics.
After I dragged into the show content part and opened OBS I went under tools but it wasn't showing up there as an option and I dont know why?? please help

What did you want the 3rd rule to do?
@@Avionyx I wanted to start with the intro scene with a count down switching to the next scene after 60s. and then the actual next scene would switch back to the intro scene till the count down is complete and then jump to the main scene after 60s.. I don't know if I make sense.
scene 1 > scene 2 (60s)
scene 2 > scene 1 (60s)

I've done exactly what DJ Avionyx said, but when I open up OBS, I do not have the option for " Advance Scene Switcher" in "Tools". Someone help me out, I thought it was straight forward.
Is there a way to do this with an audio trigger? I'm trying to get scenes/cameras to change when a mic is spoken into. Similar to how Skype/Zoom works. When one person speaks, their camera comes into view.

Hey, thank you very much for your videos...Teaching a lot...But I have 1 simple question...Can my camera detect that I'm not in front of the camera...There is no moving...and when that happens to switch to another scene...and when you reappear in front of the camera to switch back to the preview scene...This last with switching again when you come back is not that important for me...More important is the first part..when I'm not in camera sight to switch to another scene not to film my ugly empty room u know? Is there someone who can help me, guys? Thank you!
That would all be up the the camera you're using. Sound like you want to use a motion activated camera, otherwise you would need an external remote app of some sort to switch scenes manually.
the problem with all this OBS stuff is they are constantly so when you go to your OBS tools all of a sudden does not look the same then you start searching another 3 hours it is so frustrating
attempted installation in every way i could find info on, still just fails to show up in obs > tools. shrug.
I was wondering if you could use this with more cameras like up 6 or 8 and then make a sequence with random times and random cameras to make it seem more like a person is switching? Does that make sense?

That would actually be nice if it did that rather than having to go into the Setting to Start/Stop but you're notable to link it to the Start Streaming button
How do you keep the audio consistent between scenes?
Add the same Audio Input Capture source to all the scenes you want having the same music.
I want to play two and more videos one by one. How I do it ?? Means I want to play another video automatically after completion of one video
I would like to change scene by time. Is it possible ? For example scene 1 to play till 00:45. after to go to scene 2 till 02:00 and after to go to scene 3 from 02:00 till 06:00. thanks!
Yes you just have to set each change in seconds... so according to your example Scene 2 will show up after 45 seconds, Scene 3 will show up after 120 seconds, etc.

Is there a way to do this in the current updates. I’m new to this and I want to record 2 angles that switch automatically. All I can find is the macro settings. And I cannot figure out the configuration.
How long a scene can be? Is there a limit ?
I'm not sure if there is a limit, I don't think there is.

How do you set this to switch anywhere from 2 to 4 scenes on a continuous loop for at least 10 hours? There is no changes to detect in each scene. I want to press one button and let it run continuously for 10 hours.
I installed the version for Windows, and the tool looks nothing like what you are depicting in your video
Thank you for the tutorial. Do you know if there is a way to randomly switch between scenes - is that what the random tab is for? Time-wise and order-wise? Just so it doesn't end up looking so uniform, if you know what I mean? Or, is there a way to iterate the switching? So sequence scene sequences?
I havent messed with anything else other than scene sequencer. I actually have 4 different scenes with the same background but each one has a different "stage light" configuration so I use Advanced Scene Switcher to switch up the lighting really.

No matter what I do, I can’t get it to show up in OBS! I can see the .so file in the correct folder and no luck. I have version 26 of OBS. Any ideas?
Can u turn on and off scene by specific time
For example 6 am turn on scene 1
Unfortunately it doesn't switch in real time, only by setting up a timer
I installed the latest version of OBS 25.0.8, copy and pasted the .so in the plugin folder, and it doesn't show in the drop down menu? Any ideas? On a Macbook with High Sierra
Thanks so much for making this. Question for you, the top of the download page, it says Minimum OBS: 25.0.0 - but on the bottom of the page where the instructions are (and the readme file that downloads with it) - it gives instructions on installing in version 24. I'm currently running OS X 10.12.6 and OBS 24.0.6 - I'm finding all of the folders without issue and copying the file to the plugin folder, but it's crashing the software every time I launch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I actually figured it out shortly after posting this... the trick was to download v 1.4 of the plugin released in 2017 since I'm running an older OBS. I'll leave this here for all to see in case anybody else has the issue. Thanks again for making the video!

Hello, I have OBS 24.0.6 and I am having trouble with OBS detecting the plugin. I dragged the .so files to the ops-plugins folder but I don't see the advanced scene switcher in OBS. Can you help a brother out please?
Go ahead and delete that version of OBS and install ver 25 and then drag the "advanced-scene-switcher.so" file into OBS>Package Contents>Plugins folder

Is there a limit as to how many scenes you can switch from different what that tone lint for each scene? I’ve got 8 and want to switch between them all at one point.
I dont believe there is a limit

What if I have a video in each scene and I want it to move to the other scene after the video ends inside the scene
It's time based, so if the video in that particular scene is exactly 90 seconds long, you would have to set it to 90 seconds in the switch setting

I don't want to have my webcam face on the main screen all the time.
Is it possible to "Add scene 2" (scene 2 is my webcam) for "30 seconds" then "remove Scene 2" for "300 seconds" and repeat the cycle?
Just have Scene 1 switch to Scene 2 after 300 seconds
@@Avionyx No. I don't want to switch the scenes. You know how some live streams have 2 scenes simultaneously: One big, main screen and a smaller webcam screen in a corner? I want the smaller screen to appear and disappear every few minutes
but its changing every 5 second . for gamer its not good. i want the waiting scenes switch to game and than not change. and when stop game go back again automatically into waiting game scenes. what you show this method you can put time. and gamer dont know when finish their game. plz help for this.
You would need to use a Streamdeck to switch manually.

I have a Question so i have obs open 2 times, and when i hit my hotkey for a scene switch it switches the scene in both obs how can i make it so that the Scene switch only happens on one of the open obs ?
Change the hot key setting in one of the instances of OBS. Go into the settings or preferences menus to find it.

Is OBS crashing? Make sure you youre dragging in the correct file with the correct version number of OBS that you are using.
