For real, watching it frame by frame the bar went on both sides of the supports, Magnus did nothing wrong except maybe using an abnormal technique that the bar was not created for. Wild.

They can't say that, because their lawyers won't let them use the "language of culpability", i.e. admitting they did anything wrong. Sucks, but not unusual.

its not like any of them personally manufactured the bar while watching tv or smth, doing it half heartedly :D
so what would they apologize for ? we are sry we didnt extensively test all equipment we just assembled here?
and the black guy came over + they had a medic attend. cant ask for more IMO while its unfortunate it happend to begin with, its not really anyones fault besides the manufacturers because its a bit laughable that a carbon rod breaks that easily.

I hate to sound all annoying and fan boy-y, but after 22 years of being super lazy, and out of shape. Seeing the fun you have and the positive and inclusive attitude you have and had with the other guys a few months ago (the guys you took on from the climbing center) I've gotten into getting healthy and working out myself. Not everyone is a douchebag and spits on the fat guy trying to get in shape. I know it sounds dumb, but magnus, juji, and Tom have really pushed me to do this for myself and not feel so self concious. I feel great after even just one week. Thank you guys so much.

It's always a great idea to start exercising! Nobody worth talking to looks down to a "fat guy trying to get get in shape", because at least you're trying. Climbing is also great way to exercise without it becoming really boring. Like gym is, as a rule, mind numbingly boring and uninspiring. However, unless you lose enough weight, you might plateau fairly early. That said, most people always plateau at some point in their climbing career so it's not a huge issue unless you make it one. Keep it up!

the instinctive reflex for protecting the eye and the skull design around that area makes eye damage be quite uncommon, even more so when you are hanging on a bar wich isn't very different from hanging on a tree branch, so evolution did it's job

It is not the problem of it being CFRP, it's just that a sane course designer would get an engineer to calculate the load and stress, sufficient dimensions, choose the proper filament directions and check failure modes, then run a qualification process; or choose a constructive element qualified for the applied forces. And intervals to check for damage/fatigue. This is just irresponsible af, with even lightweight-Magnus being able to break it using a rather wide grip. Probably got some Walmart broom stick there. As a Pediatric ER physician my heart stopped when the bar snapped, I agree with other commenters that this could have been way worse! Also I cringed when he super glued your laceration, not because of the super glue that's cool, but it seemed they didn't clean it well enough before gluing it! I sure hope that was off camera. Being that this was 3 years ago I see you are just fine... I only recently discovered your channel and am becoming a big fan! Also your Russian 'mentor' was so sweet, I loved how proud of you he was!

@@lesbiehonest8914 If they don't have a specific clause in that waiver for injuries from broken or mismanaged equipment, they could likely be sued, at least for a larger injury like losing an eye. However, since it's an American show the waiver probably covers absolutely everything and anything. Still though, any deal or waiver can be challenged in court of law, in this case for example for gross mismanagement or misrepresentation of the courses safety.
I'm not saying Magnus should do be looking to sue ofc, just that law is never that simple.

    - seeing you be nervous in the beginning, I don´t think I´ve seen that before
    - the support from Tom, cheering you on and getting an amazing thumbnail :D
    - Anton for teaching you and pushing you beyond your limits
    - the dedication in the final run, powering through and moving on from the mistakes you made before
You are an amazing athlete and I am looking forward to seeing you on the next season of Ninja Warrior ;D
Keep up the good work, you are really inspiring!!

I love how the host of the show just randomly pops in after Magnus gets injured and tries to change the subject really quick by addressing to Juji about how big he is and how much he can bench, but totally leaves the fact that Magnus just got hurt by one of his equipment failing... He did this just to distract the attention, to dissipate the heat of the moment.
