Hey John, I have an '04 LX470 and wanted to say thanks for all of your videos. Seems as almost every LX470 project I take on I end up watching one of your videos. The most recent being my Alpha Garage grill & Raptor lights, thanks so much for all of your work posting the videos, very much appreciated...
I like your video’s John. I also bought and upgraded a 2002 Lexus LX470 on LPG. I always was a Landrover guy (SeriesDefender/Discovery 3/4) for 20 years but always wanted to own a Landcruiser 100. Then I ended up with the LX470 and never regretted it. I invested quite some money to convert it into an overland vehicle. Some of the upgrades: lift with 35 BFG AT, GobiX rear bumper with spare wheel carrier and 2 Jerry cans, steel front bumper with Warrior T1000-100 severe duty winch with Armortek rope, Terrain Tamer rear locker, Big Country roofrack with James Baroud Evasion RTT, front runner storage slide, Clear View Easy Slide with Engel fridge, Goalzero 3000x build beside storage slide with 300w solar panel, Cerullo offroad covers. Man I love this truck. Next up: trip to Moldova and Georgia. Wish you and your family all the best and happy overlanding! God bless you!
Thank you very much. Sounds like your 100 series is really built up. I love the reliability of these vehicles. I really need to get sliders and a winch. Hopefully soon.
@@LXPlore a good simple front bumper, rear bumper, side sliders, awning. Going to run the original suspension for a good while till it doesn't work then switch it out. I'm lucky it came with new KO2's- (I usually run Toyo Open Countries on my rigs) might as well use them.
Tmax Battery system. Amazon has it. 100ah agm battery from Interstate batteries on Miramar RD. With the Tmax, you can link both batteries when the main battery goes out from the controller display module like others batteries management systems. Price point on Tmax is what led me to get that one. 10+ years and no issues. Added 110w solar with a Victor controller. All flawless.
@@LXPlore The 4-Runner does benefit from trickle-down technology. The Land Cruiser is the flagship so it gets the best of everything from Toyota engineers.

Thanks I appreciate it. The snorkel I purchased was a inexpensive one from eBay. The link is no longer there, however there’s a few to choose from. The one I purchased was about $70 with an antenna cutout.
Great walk around. I had similarly tattered front seats as you do, and ended up getting them recovered. But then I ended up buying fitted seat covers one Christmas and in retrospect if I’d bought the seat covers to begin with, I wouldn’t have bothered recovering my seats. Also my back passengers (shepherd and my daughter) are messy so the fabric covers are amazing and heavy duty. Hope you do a vid on replacing those door blades. Mine are just as sun damaged. Appreciate your vids!
Great video John. Can't betray why I eat up 100 series content in SoCal, but I greatly enjoy your channel. For the seats, go to a competent local upholstery shop. They'll be able to rewrap the bottom cushion and do a pretty great job matching the color. It'll last another 15 years and you'll be happy.
Thank you for the support, I really do appreciate it. I talked to an upholsterer about a year ago and the price wasn’t too bad. I’m sure prices are much higher. Thanks for the advice.. I may just have a professional do it.
@@LXPlore thanks for your reply. Since my text I have gotten a LX470. It a great car in terms of luxury. The design and layout of some the engine parts is not as effective as a 4runner and it drinks gas like crazy. But I still like it alot.
