This series had exactly 1 disappointment to me: the Genshin Impact collaboration; great idea on paper, terrible execution. That had little to do with GG themselves mind you (collab happened out of obligation to Sony for the PS port and cross-play/save), but I discovered Horizon through Genshin so I can't ignore it. Just finished the main game yesterday. What a ride. Man it is so sad what happened with Lance Reddick. I wonder what they'll do with the character in a future game.
Maybe they can talk with his family and, with their approval, continue to use his image for the next games. The voice can be easily generated with IA, and I'm sure they have the most detailed scans of Lance's face. It would be weird, but it can be done. Or they can use it for a bit, as an homage, and to make a better exit for his character from the lore.

That way the character could have a different voice, while still staying true to the character. I've just watched a playthrough of Burning Shores since I don't have a PS5 and I gotta say that Kylie and Ashly really did an outstanding job here! Already found Ashly quite amazing in ZD and FW, but this is next level. Thank you for bringing to life these characters in the wonderful world of Horizon! 💙
Sylens is the second main character of the franchise, only after Aloy. So passing of Lance Reddick is a huge impact on the franchise. The final chapter Horizon 3 will be missing him. Sylens is such an important character, devs can't write him off and make the third game without him. Probably he'll be played with a new actor. I'm just curious how this'll turn out.
I had a sneaking suspicion they would slowly progress through Aloy's connection with people, and now that she's learning to work together as a team with friends and allies and just having a family all together, what's the next step? I think it makes sense, especially since we know Seyka will be of similar capabilities as Aloy. Honestly if they don't give Aloy a partner that's fine, but it'd still be interesting to see her deal with affections like that. Definitely excited to play this DLC.
I'm a huge Ashly Burch fan. Ever since the whole 'Hey Ash. Whattcha playin'? series on youtube. Knowing that she has become this amazing voice/actor actually makes me proud and very happy for her.

Okay but watching this I felt weird with how they tried to sell Seyka as a strong warrior *female* character that is Aloy's match and making out like this is new and never seen before in the franchise. That's simply not true, there were actually better examples of this in Talanah and even Zoe to degree, Aloy has met plenty of female characters that could give her a run for her money, there's nothing she could have seen in Seyka that would awe her that she hasn't seen before, the only thing connecting them is that they were both kinda outcasts (but is Seyka really, she lived her whole life with her tribe). And it's also false cause I didn't feel this way about Seyka playing the game, I didn't for 1 second feel like she came close to being Aloy's match, I actually got this lingering sense that she's a bit incapable. Just them trying to convince you that a female character is more than she is when they didn't put in the writting effort to really make it so, I kinda wish I didn't see this video. I'm glad Aloy finally got a love interest, but Seyka felt like a forced character just for the sake of Aloy having a love interest.
I’m calling it now, this dlc will be about VAST SILVER. Frozen Wilds was about the discovery of CYAN, Burning Shores will be about the discovery of VAST SILVER.
Don’t get me wrong, I liked Seyka’s character. However, when they mention badass women in the Horizon franchise (besides our protagonist of course) and Aloy meeting her match, I can’t help but wonder, “Did you all forget about Talanah?”
You know, I was overall neutral on the idea of Seyka being Aloy's possible love interests. I was like, guys we have just one concept art and a few scenes of them interacting in a single trailer, we need something more then that... And then 2:51 to 2:54 happened and now I'm wondering, "Okay, ARE they going to be a thing?" It's not that Aloy helps her up it's how the two bump into each other and what seems to be a long pause after that moment, like they've just realized how close they are and it's like "Aloy and Seyka .exe has stopped working. Please realize your feelings and Reboot Systems to Begin Properly working." That, combined with Kylie Liya Page's little bit about opening up to love and I'm like, "Are you trying to be subtle and failing at it?"
I agree. I think it makes total sense as well as Aloy just learned how to bond and work with people as a team, whether it's with allies or friends, not to mention her new family. I think this progression of letting Aloy experience something like love and romantic affection is an interesting concept for sure, and I'd love to see how she'd handle something like that. The fact that Seyka seems to be just as capable as Aloy is really intriguing too. This whole time Aloy has been afraid of letting people tag along because she feels it's something only she can do and doesn't want to put others' at risk. But throw in someone who's just as capable as she is and how will Aloy respond? Will she be like Elizabet and hold everyone at arm's length, closing herself off to human interaction in favor of her duties to the world? If they go in that direction I'm definitely excited to find out.
