@Carol, I partially disagree. The sounds of the heavenly host, who sing everyday to the Trinity, are in perfect love to the Lord. Love comes through clearly in music, specially in harmony. This man sings beautifully but he and all of us are still the product of sin, by which the blood of the Lamb cleansed us. We were loved more than what how we loved. The angelic host are angels and others that fought Lucifer in a difficult war, in Heaven. They stood firm in their love of our Creator. When they sing, all the pain, anguish and long standing Love comes through every note.
We will never achieve that until the Second Coming, when Christ will give us an incorruptible body and our old spirit, equaling what the angelic host has now.

As a health worker at this time of crisis, I listen to this song everyday as I travel to work. Such a great reminder if God's love, that He never forsakes His own.

He is holy and He hates sin and would not endorse all that you have enumerated. The best way to know more about him is for us to go back to His Word, the Bible, and learn what his true nature is. It is better, I believe, to learn what he says about himself, rather than believing what others make Him out to be. Thanks and take care!

I was brought here by my dad. We're trying to repair our damaged relationship with each other by focusing on growing closer to the Lord together. We just got together for his 60th birthday and spent most of it singing along together to songs like this. You are the conduit for God's work.
Praise the Lord!! Cherish him, because my dad has been gone since 1992. Sure wish I had him to hug and tell him how much I appreciate every single thing he ever did for me!

Some people imagine David wrote this as a young shepherd. Maybe so. But lately I've been thinking how much sweeter this psalm is as a walk down memory lane for David. After all the hardships he's been through, he finds comfort in the arms of his heavenly Father by remembering how in his childhood God taught him how he cares for us like a shepherd. Then, in light of David's sin against Uriah, it is precious to hear David's words; "he makes me to walk in paths of righteousness" and "he restores my soul". Not just restores as far as feeling encouraged, but actually restores his soul to a place of righteousness in God's sight. Then, there's the line "he anoints my head with oil", and "he prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies", but of which are very literal in the life of David, as we look back! So whether this was David's first composition or his last, it is exceeding rich when we think of the story God wrote for David's life.
My husband of 45 years passed away only less than 4 months ago and when planning his funeral I had to pick one more song, I opened the hymnal and found so many songs I liked, but closed the hymnal and asked my husband you have to help me, what song would you like, opened the hymnal and this is the song he picked, I listen to this so often, thank you for your beautiful voice and the comfort you bring to me
So sweet to hear and soothes the soul after the loss of my Dad.

This is indeed a beautiful song and my favourite from this singer. Sorry about the death of your beloved husband. But the Bible says the dead are not conscious according to scriptures in ecclesiates and psalms.
You should have asked the Holy Spirit to pick a song since according to the Word of God "the dead know nothing" Ecclesiastes 9:5

This is found in the 1650 edition of the Scottish Metrical Psalms - if look them up on UA-cam or SoundCloud you will find this a beautiful and faithful translation of the book of Psalms that can be sung 👍🏼
There is a 2nd tune (same words). We have both tunes in our hymn book

I like that you added Tenor to the part traditionally sung by Alto and Soprano voices alone.
Glad to hear it. Hopefully others feel the same way. Dropping the lead down an octave as I do creates a big gap between it and the alto that just wouldn’t have sounded right without something between them.
