watching people with middling vocals struggle to sing easier songs live after hearing people like rik emmett crush songs like this live over and over is intresting.
Seen them at the US Festival in So Cal in may of 83, one month before I got out of the Marine Corps, in my opinion, they were one of the top bands that performed in the three day event ! And yes, I was there all three days, my friends told me I had a great time ! 🍻🍄🍄 🤘😵💫 🤘🤣🤣
Triumph are a three piece band from Toronto, Canada. Rik Emmett is the lead vocalist and the guitarist. He can really soar both with his voice and his guitar playing. Cheers
Fight the Good Fight - Live at the US Festival. Emmett is a virtuoso on guitar and vocals. A singular talent to do both so well. Rock guitar is only a small portion of his guitar brilliance.
Triumph is so awesome! We got to see them in concert & meet them backstage. Nice guys. They seemed very humble around the fans, thankful not conceited & rowdy.
These guys are great to watch live. They are a 3-piece band. The guitarist sings lead, drummer sings back up bass player rocks. Always a great show. If I may suggest a couple more from them: "Fight the Good Fight" and "Magic Power".
OMG! Watching Triumph doing Magic Power live in Halifax I think it was 1977, unreal! Rick Emmet , great voice, for a three piece it was crazy good sound, I was 16! They were awesome, and made me feel like I could do anything! Great memories! Still one of my favorites and soooo underrated! Enjoy!
Great React! This trio is one of the best bands ever! Amazing albums and zillions awesome songs Rik Emmett (gutar and vocals) is a Master This one is one of the best songs ever
I must also recommend two songs others have already mentioned: Fight The Good Fight and Magic Power. Also, I'd recommend checking out their songs Rock And Roll Machine and Allied Forces, which are sung by their drummer. They're one of those bands where lead vocals are a shared thing: Rik Emmett (the Guitarist) sing's most of the songs, but some songs of theirs are sung by Gil Moore (the Drummer). You should check out them live at the US Festival. I believe all of the above mentioned songs they played at the US Festival.
This one is on the playlist of my life. I remember when it was first released when I was in High School and I heard it the first time... one of my all time favorites!
Man what a great underrated band from Canada! I still got this album in “cassette!” That whole album is awesome! Listen to “fight the good fight” and many more! Hold on” somebody’s out there” a world of fantasy” follow your heart” spellbound” never surrender” I live for the weekend” I can go on and on!👏😎👍great reaction guy’s!
FYI- Triumph got their big break in San Antonio Texas. DJ Joe Anthony of kiss radio brought them here and blew them away. Their encore was Rocky Mountain way by Joe Walsh cause they ran out of songs. Got to see them many times and their first concert in 1976. My ticket was $12, No kidding. Keep them coming!!!
❤️❤️❤️Rick Emmett’s voice!!! Great band!! Memories as a teen !! Listen to Spellbound !!! He has a phenomenal voice. He goes even higher than he did in this song. His range is phenomenal!! Steve Perry is awesome as well!!
One of the most underrated, but greatest, Canadian kard rock bands of all time! Between Triumph and Rush, Toronto was one of the global capitals of heavy rock in the late 70'/early 80's.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
You guys are one of the hardest working on UA-cam. Always dropping videos from all across the board. Thanks for your great channel I appreciate it and always enjoy you both.
Rik Emmett, composer, writer, lead guitarist, made Canadian Triumph legendary...and so down to earth. He'll tell you, he was a Christian in an evil profession that drained him by 1987, too. He still plays his greatest hits...although it's normally as ballads now (he's lost the top 1/5th of his vocal range...to be expected for someone in their 70's, but he still has a voice and actively sings)...truly, one of the last of the legendary bands...
Ric Emmett is the lead singer and guitarist. 3 piece Canadian band. Very underrated. Super great band. Asia would be a great addition on those high notes!
Wish you could have watched Rik Emmett in ALL of his glory - in the official video. But very excited to have you listen to one of my favorite songs by another incredible Canadian band. Hugs and love!!
The guitarist is Rik Emmett who is also the singer. They are a 3 piece band. The drummer Gil Moore sings some of their songs as well. If you want to hear a banging guitar solo check out Rock And Roll Machine which is sung by Gil. Just A Game, sung by Rik is another favorite of mine as is Never Surrender, Fight The Good Fight and Blinding Light Show/Moonchild.
So simple, so good, classic rock. Triumph, another 3 man band that blew off the roof of concert halls. I saw them 3 times early eighties, and I was a broke ass college student. Peace.
Great band! Check out Ordinary Man, Never Surrender, Fight The Good Fight, & A World Of Fantasy. The lead singer Ric Emmett is also the guitar player. He was, and still is insanely talented! Check out their performance at the US Festival! They stole the show!
A very creative and powerful trio. They are another power trio, alongside of RUSH, before Neil Peart's death but RUSH's music, alongside of Triumph, is timeless.
I love them at the US festival live vocals and flawless. No auto tune or anything . Watch them live at US festival. RIK Emmett is amazing and talk about going to the upper room… and live!
*For more Triumph...try these two; Magic Power__Somebody's Out There (Somewhere). I was lucky to see them in 1983 at the US Festival. Rik left Triumph because of record company control. Record company MCA helped Triumph get out of their RCA contract. But then wanted Triumph to bring in outside writers to write good Pop songs so to sell more records. Rik didn't want songs written by others, taking up spots on their albums. But MCA got their way and Rik said "it's not Triumph"...and so he left in 1988 after the Surveillance album.*
Hello Asia and BJ. When you said Rik Emmett sounded like Steve Perry I thought, I can see that a little but I always thought at times he reminded me of Geddy Lee of Rush - (another great Canadian 3 piece). I love Triumph and Rik Emmett is also the guitarist. Great job.
Rik Emmett is such an amazing guitarist and lead singer, but what a three piece band all of them can really sing drummer also have great vocals. Listen to when the lights go down killer track.
Tenor/soprano….that’s kinda how I hear Triumph, every song or most of them anyway. Saw these guys live in Baltimore 82 or 84.. cannot remember honestly….he really does, they really did sound like that live, for real. Check out Say Goodbye, one of my favs, and definitely in soprano territory most of the way….gorgeous tho- facts.❤️🎼❤️
Rick Emmett became Rik Emmett when is name was misspelled on the sleeve of a Triumph record. I read a good story in a magazine where drummer Gil Moore told a story about Triumph playing a small bar in Ontario in the 70s and they had this big revolving wheel rotating behind them on the stage as they played. The wheel came loose, rolled-out onto the floor and knocked a bunch of tables over. People went runnin'. I recall thinking how funny that story was.
The most popular trio from Toronto is Rush. Their friends Triumph are 2nd. Rik Emmett shows his guitar prowess. His voice has a high range! 😃 Strongly 💪 suggested video 📹: Magic Power 🔋
These guys were as good live as they were in the studio. Great, great band.
watching people with middling vocals struggle to sing easier songs live after hearing people like rik emmett crush songs like this live over and over is intresting.
Cletus House - They sure are. I saw them twice and can testify to that!
Yes, they sure were. Rick's vocals were always spot on. (Gil Moore did great to while getting it on the drums) All three awesome musicians.
They're absolutely amazing live! Reunion arena 1983. In their prime. I was very lucky to see it.
Rik Emmett guitars and lead vocals, Gil Moore drums and also lead vocals, Mike Levine bass. Damn good band. Great reaction.
Ric Emmett is one of the best Rock singers and guitar players ever to play any concert Hall.
Yup
I agree
The way Ric lays down riffs within the song is amazing! Triumph is incredible in concert.
@@rickbrewer1419 Ric Ocasek or Rik Emmett? 😉
@@BrimHawk hahaha. Darn it. Not once but twice? I meant Riq
Only 3 guys, and the singer, Rik Emmett, plays a double-neck guitar and SHREDS!
Seen them at the US Festival in So Cal in may of 83, one month before I got out of the Marine Corps, in my opinion, they were one of the top bands that performed in the three day event ! And yes, I was there all three days, my friends told me I had a great time ! 🍻🍄🍄 🤘😵💫 🤘🤣🤣

He sure did !! Beautiful voice !!
Gil Moore sang lead on songs too
Canada's OTHER power trio !!
Actually Mississauga.
one of the best bass riff's in all of rock/metal it sounded just like this live in concert too
Fight the Good Fight - Live at the US Festival. Emmett is a virtuoso on guitar and vocals. A singular talent to do both so well. Rock guitar is only a small portion of his guitar brilliance.
Another great Canadian power trio. Incredible front man singing and rocking the guitar!
Agreed..Rik Emmett absolutely phenomenal
I'd have to say this is my favorite Triumph song.
Triumph is so awesome! We got to see them in concert & meet them backstage. Nice guys. They seemed very humble around the fans, thankful not conceited & rowdy.

The drummer sings lead on some songs too.
@@prestigeworldwide5239 I actually prefer Gills voice over Riks
@@kidmetal222 Highly underrated, but doesn't everyone say that about everyone?
Anything from the Halifax show or US festival is excellent live rock.

I would actually like to hear Asia sing this one! Sounds like she could match Rik Emmett's high notes quite well!
I agree
Right on Baby!!!
ASIA was prog and pop, no way. Great Band no doubt, but just way different vibes.
Triumph were rockers.
And who is this she?
@@jamesgonzales5285 Asia Fourte. The channel you watched. She also sang a song of her own. ua-cam.com/video/-nljMkF7YYw/v-deo.html

The pride of my hometown Toronto - Power Trio extraordinaire. So many great songs. Wish you had seen the video of them in action. 🇨🇦❤
